Scope of such skills are very effective and makes overall development possible. In this report bot personal and professional development is covered relation to personal and professional development and 2
covers short term, mid-term and long-term goal. In relation to this sources is been evaluated for making development plan that has been proposed. TASK a) Define the concept of personal and professional development. Personal development or also refereed as personality development in common term. It is asequenceofstepsofprocesswhichanindividualfollowsinordertomakecertain improvisation or development in itself. Through personality development an individual enhances his existing skills and learns some new techniques to present himself or herself in more better way. Individual posses this development by setting up of some achievable goals and objectives of his life to make it worth. The main purpose of this personality development to contribute in having a good career and future life. This development is an endless process as every individual always tries to achieve better then previous or existing and wants a good recognition in society among its peer members(Carbonie, Guoand and Cahalane, 2018). This recognition and feeling of achieving better always requirespersonal development. Professional Development refers to a phenomenon of making self development in the areas of academic and professional career or job. This includes development of skills for educational degree, corporate job, presentation of giving speech at public forum, etc. This includes a broader concept and needs specialization in some areas. It covers parts such as coaching, consultation, case studies, mentorship, etc. Professional development helps employees to enhance their corporate skills and perform with more efficiency and techniques at work place. This kind of development provides some unique skills to employees which supports them to achieve their targets in more specialized and in perfect way. The main motive behind professional development is to attain higher position in office or in educational institute along with appreciation or praise. The process of personal development starts right fromthe birth taken by a child in this world and professional development starts when an individual enters into his higher studies or enters into corporate world. b)Describe and discuss the value of short-term goals, identifying at least three personal examples. Short term refers to a period of less then or equivalent to but not exceeding 12 months. Goals refers to an aim set by an individual or any other in order to accomplish in future. Short 3
term goals are those targets which are to be set for a period of less then 12 months. This goals can be set by anyone say it can be by an individual, or by a corporate body or by any institute. Short term goalsare a roadmap for achieving long term goals which fulfils certain dreams and ambitions of a person(Chaikovska, 2018). Such kind of goals are easy to achieve and are convenience to follow. Short term goals are set by keeping few things in mind such as: Easy attainable:Short term goals are set for less period of time hence allows individual toachieveeasilyandquickly.Thesetargetsincludesmuchefficiencyintheir accomplishment process as they does not require much time to complete(Fedorivna and Fedorivna, 2019). Easy to measure:When goals are set for a short time then it becomes easy for individual to measure and monitor goal progress. These can be easily measured by analysing weekly progress or monthly progress which does not involve much labour in analysis. Since the time period is short so goals are which helps individual to monitor easily(Gjedia and Gardinier, 2018). Specific:Short term goals are much specific as compared to medium term or long term targets in nature.The time period is known to an individual while setting up of objectives so things brings specifications in deciding goals and presents a clear and planned per forma or structure which needs to be follow for the achievement of set goals(Jironet, 2019). The three personal examples for short term goals are mentioned under: To gain some recognized certified professional knowledge regarding management and operations done in a multinational company, To purchase latest handset from savings and salary within a year. Improving my communication skills to speak in public forum or in any conference. c)Describe and discuss the value of medium-term goals, identifying at least three personal examples. Medium term goals are set for the period of more than one year to maximum three years of time or set for more than short term but less then long term goals. Such kind of goals helps in developing both personal and professional skills within an individual. The three examples for medium term goals are under: Planning for a foreign trip with the purpose of long vacation may be for a month. Buying a dream house and latest car in the name of own. Developing professional skills such as leadership skills or mentorship to get higher position in corporate world or at work place. d) Describe and discuss the value of long-term goals, identifying at least three personal examples. Long term goals consists of those objectives which has been formed in order to develop idea with skill and knowledge which makes success to be attained in fast and effective manner in long term of academic period. This makes students to learn about each and very aspects that has been covered within theoretical or practical manner. Both professional and personal development has lead over making skills with knowledge enhanced in more effective manner. This is mainly focused over making objectives and goals that is set for long term purpose in it stability is earned with success in long years. It makes step by step goals achieved through proper framework to be formed.Inthesegoalsvariouskindsofthingslikepersonalitydevelopment,speech 5
improvement, language enhancement develops. An long terms goal is something that is mainly developed in relation to future which makes bot success in relation to academic and job life possible. Team building skills is been developed through attending training and development which makes needs of team building analysed in proper manner.
