INTRODUCTION
Personal development can be described as self-improvement in a person that involves different
types of activities for purpose of capabilities and potential of a person, building human capital,
enhancement of quality of life, facilitating of employability as well as the realisation of dreams
and aspirations (Bonsu, 2021). This project report includes skills and knowledge of leadership
and strategic management that provide support to the creation and attainment of the vision and
strategy of the organisation. It includes carrying out of audit of own personal development,
setting objectives and preparation of a personal development plan to develop different skills. It
also includes factors that impact over the creation of vision of the company.

There are different types of skills and knowledge to be required by a person in the context to
leadership and strategic management as it helps them to attain the vision and strategy of the
business. There are different skills included in this which are mentioned below:
Communication: It is one of the important skills which enable for sharing ideas, thoughts and
opinions of a person to another person. It is an essential skill for leadership and strategic
management. It is important for a person as it assists for purpose of sharing their views to others
and also listening to their problem (Cheng, 2021). Leaders need to understand the problem of
other employees and also needs to provide solutions to their problems.
Relationship building: It is one of the important skills which is important for a person as it
helps them for purpose of building relationships. It assists a person in connecting different
individuals at a different level, and roles effortlessly. It is essential in order to build a connection
with peers which helps them to build a positive relationships. Effective leadership is important in
order to build a strong network and also for ensuring effective strategic management.
Transparency: Transparency is sharing all information to different members of the business. In
order to ensure effective leadership and strategic management, leaders of a company need to
maintain transparency in the organisation. It allows them to build trust among the team and also
for the purpose of making effective decisions for the business.

Continuous learning: It is also one of the important skills as it allows a person to learn from
their experience on a continuous basis. It helps them to update themselves and also for other
people to make them able to face challenges and also for overcoming of problems occurred.

mentioned below:
Organisational culture: Organisation culture can be described as a collection of expectations,
practices and values of a person which provide guidance and information to the action of
different team members. It is an important factor for business and business needs to ensure the
development of a culture that provides a positive environment and in which employees are
accepting differences (Dzwigol and et. al., 2019). It is a factor that engages employees with the
work of the company and allows them to attain goals and objectives.
Learning capabilities: The learning capabilities of team members and leaders is another factor
which is contributing to the purpose of attainment of the vision and objectives of the company. It
is important for business as it allows them for purpose of learning from the experience and
situation and also from their peers.
Motivation: Motivation is another important factor which is also contributing to the purpose of
creating influence among members. It is important for purpose of influencing the behaviour of
members for the attainment of the goals, vision and objectives of the company.
Strategic thinking: It is a process that enables a person to use critical thinking for purpose of
solving the problem and also focusing on the future period of time (GARAVANDALA, 2020). It
is focusing on the attainment of business objectives, addressing challenges and overcoming of
problems that occur in business. It assists leaders for purpose of focusing on the attainment of
goals and objectives for the business.

development
There are different types of leadership and management theories that provide guidance to a
person for purpose of personal development. It is important for business managers to adopt

different leadership theories as it provides them guidance to ensure personal development.
Explanations of different theories of leadership and management are mentioned below:
Great man theory: It is a leadership theory which assumes that traits of leadership are intrinsic.
It means that great leaders are born with specific qualities and cannot be made with training and
development According to this theory, great leaders possess some inborn qualities which make
them different from others. There are different qualities to be posses by a person which includes
the charm, courage, judgement, persuasion, aggressiveness, intelligence (Huda and et. al., 2018).
It is a theory that reflects that people cannot become effective leaders by learning new things.
These leadership skills are natural and acquired by birth. It is a theory that reflects that great
leaders arise when their need is arise.
Trait theory: It is another theory of leadership that is an extension of the great man theory
which is based on different concepts like influential leaders possess different specific
behavioural characteristics and traits. It is a theory that assists individuals for purpose of
influential leaders by offering different varieties. It provides natural abilities to a person which
assist them to be effective leaders. A successful leader is one who has different traits and
interests which will differentiate them from other people. There are different traits of a person
which makes them effective including competence, emotional stability, understanding challenge,
acceptance of responsibility, action-oriented thinking, Communication, motivation and others.
The Behavioural theory: It is a theory that explains environment of a person is dependent on
the leadership qualities. It is leadership which results from different types of leadership skills. It
is one of the important theories of leadership that emphasises that leaders can be made and
trained and not born (Huffington, James and Armstrong, 2018). According to theory, leaders
cannot contribute to the success of leaders as it is drives from their leadership qualities. These
qualities can be possessed by leaders with proper training and teaching.
All these theories of leaders help an individual learn different types of new things, developing
skills and new knowledge. It is important for the individual as it enables them for purpose of
improving their efficiency to influence others. These theories provide guidance about how an
individual can be motivated and also make them able to complete the work for the attainment of
goals and objectives.

skills of an individual (Keding, 2021). But among these skills, communication is one of the
important skills that allow managers to share reasons for the implementation of a strategy and
also to listen to employees about their problems for the implementation of strategy in business.
Relationship building is another strategy that allows individuals for the purpose of implantation
of strategy in business.
