INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan is said to be a process through which an action plan is created
so that goals and objectives can be understood. With the help of PDP, an individual can get to
know about strengths and weaknesses so that, through some kind of activities such as SWOT,
Skill audit etc., it can be developed or enhanced. Hilton Hotel, which is one of the renowned
company in United Kingdom and since it was founded in the year around 1919, it is providing
effective services and facilities to its customers. This assignment will include different kinds of
skills, knowledge and behaviour that are acquired by an HR manager while working in an
organisation (Bolman and Deal, 2017). Along with this, various competence are mentioned
below which are required for Personal Development Plan is mentioned in this report. Therefore,
on the basis of this an action plan will be developed so that suitable action can be taken for
meeting goals and objectives.
TASK
1. Numeracy development of competencies
Communication: This is a common skills that must be acquired an individual within
himself/herself because it helps a person in interacting with other individuals in an effective
manner. In relation with my communication skill I have good interpersonal ability of
communicating with clients whether they are from different age group, nationality or
professionals. I will score my self 8.5 out of 10 in this proficiency. In addition to this, I know
three different languages in which Romanian is my native language, English in which I am fluent
and French which is medium.
Self and time management: In order to manage time it is important that an individual
develop self first because, if time is mismatched than there is a possibility that work is effected.
Maintaining time management always provides an individual with a guidelines of how to execute
the task and what are the resources that are required for the same. In terms of my scoring in this
filed I will score myself 9 out of 10.
Teamwork and relationship building: In order to meet objectives it is important that
company have an effective team in which every individual share a common interest so as to
perform for a common goal. Working in a team I have developed lot of skills and get a chance of
working with experienced people. As a result, it assisted me in getting appropriate results. Thus,

in this my proficiency is 8 out of 10 which is according to me is good but further needs more
improvement.
Critical and analytical thinking: This is an important factor which must have in an
individual because it helps a person in identifying the situation and according to it what measures
can be taken so as to overcome the same. Therefore, it includes the ability of thinking in a
thoughtful manner. Thus, in this category I have scored myself 6 out of 10 and as per my concern
I must work more on this for better outcomes and results.
Leadership: It is an essential factor that state a position of an individual and denote
him/her as a leader. While working in an organisation there this factor plays an important role as
it helps a person in executing plan in a systematic manner. In this context, I scored 6.5 out of 10
which is average and needs to be developed.
Personal development plan: It is considered as a plan through which an individual
understands strengths and weaknesses which furthermore helps in overcoming the weaknesses
and making strength as a strong point. My PDP as an HR is mentioned below:

2. Demonstrate an understanding of the organizational context
Hilton Hotel, is one of the leading company in the hospitality sector in United kingdom
and from the time of its establishment firm is giving effective services and facilities to its clients.
From the scenario, it has been evaluated that organisation is looking for an HR manager and for

this Hilton Hotel has set certain criteria (Ellison, Gibbs and Weber, 2015). There are different
roles that are to be performed by HR manager like developing workforce planning and
employment, giving rewards to eligible candidates etc., For instance: while doing job in Hotel
industry it is important that HR manager is effective in communicating with other persons so
that he/she can communicate goals and objectives in a speculated time frame. Other than this,
Hilton Hotel has some other criteria which are leadership skills, self and time management,
teamwork and relationship building and critical and analytical thinking.
3. Reflective audit of numeracy
In order to analyse my own competencies/skills, there are ample number of reflective
tools which could be used that may help in finding out existing skills. This would aid me in
looking at the gap among skills that I am already having from desired ones. With the help of this,
effective decisions can be made to improve skills or competencies in order to sustain in a
business organisation like Hilton for a longer time frame. Basically, I have chosen two different
reflective tools like skill audit and personal SWOT analysis in order to demonstrate my personal
skills.
This could directly help me in analysing the gaps where I want to reach. On the basis of
proper analysis, HR manager of Hilton which is one of the famous United Kingdom's hotel chain
requires to have different skills which would directly help the company in reaching to new
heights in set time frame. For the same, a proper skill audit I have done for my own which is
being prepared that would directly show my weaknesses and the strengths as well for the HR
manager's position in Hilton Hotel.

In the given table, negative variance is basically showing my strong point and positive
variance is giving my weak points. Therefore, it can be said that, there are some skills which I
scored more than it was required in an individual (HR manager) of Hilton Hotel. Also, the skill
audit is showing a range of gaps that I am away in a few skills which is required for me to fulfil
to carry to become as an effective HR manager of Hilton Hotel. Away with this, on the basis of
above mentioned skills audit, it is specifically showing a few strengths and weaknesses that I
possess and these are covered in a table beneath:

Strength
Based on the analysis, of my own skills and
competencies, I found that, communication
skills that I am having is pretty much strong
which could aid me in influencing others or

factor that I am having and this is being
considered as one of the barrier which could
stop me in becoming a human resource
