INTRODUCTION Personal development plan refers to a plan that is aimed at supporting individual in career development and creates basis of decisions that one requires to take in career development. This is also important for continuous personal development of individual and in health and care sector continuous professional development is an essential requirement.This report will involve a personal development plan that is based on identified strengths and weaknesses and reflection of learning in classroom and through different classroom activities. University study has a key role in fulfilling my goal of becoming advanced nurse practitioners (Elliott, 2017). This is because in order to become advance nurse practitioner individual requires post graduation ort masters degree in science and this is only possible to get this degree through university study. University also helps in acquiring all important knowledge and skills that are important and required for becoming advance nurse professional.This means that in order to become successful in achieving goal and later in career of health professional, it is important that individual posses strong knowledge of all the requisites of becoming advance nurse professionals and also skill that enable effectively performing duties of advanced nurse practitioner. SWOT – Identify three of your strengths and explain how they can help you achieve your career aspirations Research skills:This is one of the important skills that is required for the profession of advanced nurse practitioners and I believe that I have this skill. Research skill is an ability to search, locate, extract, organise, evaluate and use or present information regarding a particular topic (Hoffman and et.al., 2017). Advanced nurse practitioners are required to assess and determine health condition of patients and in doing so research skills play a very important role. Communication skills:This is also one of the important skill that is required for the profession of advanced nurse practitioners. Advanced nurse professionals are required to carry out responsibility of expert coaching and advice, in this communication skill play a very important role. I believe that I have good communication skill mainly oral communication skills through which I can effective advice and coach people and this is also important for consultation with patients and their families. This is important for providing them right information and assistance in their treatment and healthcare services. In clinical leadership communication is also important and this is why communication skill is very important for advanced nurse practitioners. This involves working together interpersonal skills, communication skills, knowledge sharing and strategy. In a healthcare profession it is very important to work with other people and this is why it is important that individual is able to work effectively with others (Kropp, Meier and Biddle, 2016). I believe that collaboration skill is one of my weaknesses as I feel difficulty in working together in teams and with other people. In order to achieve my career aspiration it is very important that I have effective skills for collaboration and I am able to work with many people. Time management skill- This is also important skill that is important for achieving my career aspiration.Time management is a skill that enables individual to complete their tasks and activities on time. This is a important skill through which individual will be able to complete their academic activities on time so that they can ensure success in academic. in area of advanced nurse practitioners. Some of the weaknesses that I identified include decision-making skills, collaboration or team-working skills and time management skills. I also identified that on the basis of these advanced nurse practitioner is an opportunity for me and also healthcare services. Threats that I identified was increasing competition in healthcare services. Other than this, I also participated in Professionalism activity and Service User activity. Professionalism activity is mainly concerned with understanding how it is like to be professional in healthcare service and service user activity was based on services and healthcare service users. Outcome of these activities was different types of learning and contributed in development of different skills that are required for healthcare services and for advanced nurse practitioners. Feelings Concerned with feeling during learning and development and different activities as part of learning and development I was having different types of feeling including nervousness, stress and sometimes I also felt lack of confidence during activities. As a result my experience sometimes was good and sometimes was bad. Bad experience was mainly related to the situations when I could not perform good and as expected in activities. That time I used to think that having certain skills would have helped me in performing effectively in activities. As the activities completed I thought that it is important that I start working on development of these skills, so that I do not perform below average while I am working in healthcare services (Markkanen and et.al., 2020). This means that I felt bad when I could not identify what are the opportunities for me during SWOT activities. I also faced difficulty in professionalism activities as sometimes I could not perform well specially because I was lacking certain skills and also because my confidence was low.During activities I also became conscious because what other participants are thinking of me and this also felt bad because of these. However, participation in these activities also affected my beliefs as I felt that I can perform effectively in every activity and also that I do not require any typeof practice for effectively performing in any activity. Because due to this belief later I could not perform well in activities and lack of skills and lack of preparation also added in this. Evaluation
Concerned with experience what I believe and feel good is that it lead me towards the decision that I will work on development of these skills because of which I do not have to face same situation again in professional life. Other than this, situation and active participation in activities and successful and effective performance was also one of the reasons that I felt good during the participationinactivities.Communicationskillswasonethathelpedmeinperforming effectively in a task and this helped me in feeling good about the learning and development experience that I have had during these activities.Time management and decision making skills created difficulty in performing some of the activities and this affected my performance in activities (Tanaka, Okamoto and Koide, 2018). This mainly happened during professionalism activities as lack of decision making skills and confidence led me towards underperformance in activities. However because I worked best and put my all efforts in effectively performing activities I believe that my contribution in activities was positive. However as ineffective performance was the result oflackof skilled and adequate knowledge hands only choice that remained to solve problems was to develop skills and gain adequate knowledge. I realise that developingskillsand gaining knowledge will help me in in ensuring effective performance afterwards. However, when I performed in effectively in some of the initial activities letter I identify the reasons behind ineffective performance and worked on improving performance. Analysis Analysis of experience helped me in in understanding that only reason because of which some of the experiences were bad waslackof skills and required knowledge. However other experiences related to activities in which I performed effectively work because of my hard work and efforts that I put in order to perform effectively in given activities and ensure that I am able to gain knowledge as well as positive experience related to participation in activities. In some of the activities are performed well because of knowledge and experience gained from previous activities and learning associated with previous activities on the basis of which I determined how can I improve my performance in future activities (Li and et.al., 2020). This can be explain through Kolb's reflective cycle.This means that on the basis of concrete experience that I had in in previous activities I head observation that I should identify reason behind poor performance and thisledme conclude that I have poor decision making skill also time management was bad. On the basis of this I decided that I will improve time management in next activity concerned
with this and willalso become confident in order to take decision. This means that this learning cycle theory helped me in making sense of the situation and understands what went wrong and reason behind that. Later this theory also helped me in taking decision regarding how can I improve performance in future activities. Conclusion Overall learning and development activities were very effective and helped me in understanding different concepts gain knowledge of different activities and learn skills that are required in Healthcare profession. I believe that these activities and participation in these activities also helped me in improving and enhancing existing skills that I considered as my strengths like empathy. In one of the activity I also managed to perform good with help of skill known as empathy. I believe I could have performed effectively e in every activity if I have had knowledge and skills adequate to perform in these activities (Tawanwongsri and Phenwan, 2019). I believe that with help of these activities and experience gained through the activities I will be able to perform effectively e during my professional practice. Along with this as a result of participation in swot activity I realised my strengths and weaknesses that I also so good to know through this participations. I can now work on developing skills and knowledge that are my weakness and I will also so try to utilise strengths that I have in academic as well as professional life to gain success in in both. On the basis of experience I believe that it with the help of my research skills I can identify and develop different ways through which I can work on developing skills that I lack in order toensurethat they do not effect efficiency of my performance in academic as well as professional duties.
