INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan is defined as useful documented plan that appropriately
outlines personal aim and objective, and also define what strengths individual already have in
those areas, what they need to change to reach their goals. The current assignment is based on
personal development planning role. It will explain professional & personal development
concept, and value of short, long and medium term aims, with three examples in each.
Furthermore, the study will justify value of a personal development plan and example using
identified goals. It encompasses wide range of formats and subjects.

Defining concept of professional and personal development
Professional development-
This term refers to a wide variety of specialized approaches such as training and
development session. It may help a candidate to obtain great employment opportunities and
enhance their skills and abilities, which is quite important to improve (Körkkö and et.al., 2020).
Professional development provides a lot of advantages to person in term of making them able to
achieve their aims whether it is short, long or medium term. Many people use this form of
planning as a guideline that enable them to make progress in their career. It is a list of actionable
actions conduct into practical manner to achieve career aims. It can be said that professional
development planning build credibility and boost confidence level of individual worker, it also
helps to make successional plan easier and improve efficiency of candidate, which is actually
important and beneficial for them. It caters a framework that determines aims, activities, key
resources and learning chances for progress.
This planning determines milestones in terms of completion of objectives that assist
individual assess growth toward their desired results. Along with above, professional
development planning enable workers to obtain more benefits.
Personal development-
Personal development is defining as long term procedure and way that has been adopted
by many people to grow. It is the best approach that individual person takes into consideration to

to consider short and long goals in order to maximize and realize candidate potential. This term
covers key activities and actions that develop potential and abilities of person, and enhance their
qualities, which is quite significant for them.
Personal development plan drives the attention of individual person towards creating an
effective action plan that is based on values, aim setting, awareness and planning for personal
growth in regard to career, and for self-improvement. It is essential for everyone who seek to
grow even better than their personal and professional career. It enables person to have a personal
mission & vision of further, which gives them a clear concept as to what or where they may be in
the next few years. It helps to motivate individual and allow to learn something new in term of
skills or abilities.
Describing value of short term aims with three personal examples
A short term goal refers to an outcome that individual person seeks to achieve in specific
time duration (Dalal, Alaybek and Lievens, 2020). It is easier to reach or accomplish. Short term
aims are important for everyone in this world, because it drive the attention of individual towards
taking each step in the context of future success and progress of career. It may help to attain
target aim of person on time, which in return obtain desire outcomes. It is quite important for
candidate to set their short aim, because it support to reduce procrastination and contribute in
term of defining path to greater success. Short term aims are valuable as it allows person to
concentrate on one activity at a time, which they may conduct for specific reason. The most
appropriate duration of achieving these aims is 4-6 months, under which any type of short aim
may be achieved by individual.
My personal short term aims are-
I want to improve my reading and writing speed.
I want to get high scores in foundation year of MBA
I want to develop good habit of saving money
These short goals may achieve by taking initiative to choose the best approaches, which
permit person to perform accordingly. These aims are so easy to obtain as it requires just few

everyone. It allows learner to take one step toward their future career growth and learn varied

Messner, 2021). It may motivate person more and in appropriate manner to reach long term
objectives, for which strong commitment and hard work is require.
Discussing importance of medium term goals
A medium term aim is included in list of those aims that are quite enough to achieve
greater success in personal and professional life. These goals are set to be between short term
that may be reached and long goal that may require long time to achieve (Schippers and et.al.,
2020). Medium term aims are beneficial and valuable for person, because they offer long enough
time to make unexpected growth, which is not that easy to obtain. Another advantage of these
goals are that they enable person to set many of them over course of their lifetime. It is one that
takes some time and allow individual to achieve in next 3 weeks, a month or more than 6 months
that is quite enough time to get desire results. It is quite necessary and beneficial for each person
to set medium aims whether it related to personal or professional life as it helps to make a huge
difference in their life which is good for them and their career as well.
My personal medium term aims are-
I want to develop effective time management and problems solving skills
I want to increase by skills, capabilities and knowledge regarding my job, which enable
me to obtain unpredicted benefits.
I want to establish and open my own business.
Above type of aims, make person capable in term of managing their life, work, growth
and other things in systematic and appropriate manner that is not simple to manage for anyone.
By setting right medium term aims, individual may obtain benefit in the future for longer time
period. It gives them a list of what they need to achieve within a month or years (Schoemaker,
Swart and Wulffraat, 2020). There are varied methods, ways and techniques accessible in the

goals. Medium term goals give enough duration to actually make important and valuable growth.
Good med aim may keep person motivate and encourage to achieve long term objectives as well
that help to reach at big dreams.
Describing value of long term aims
A long term aim is something that person need to do and achieve in the future. It drives
the attention and attempts of individual to accomplish further goals, which is really quite
essential for them to reach. It may relate to personal and professional career. Long term aims
need time, hard work and full concentration. In order to achieve these types of goals a person
may create an appropriate schedule or plan, according to which they may take action and conduct
activity (Munson and et.al., 2020). Long term goals are not easy to achieve as it consumes a lot
of time and efforts as well. It may achieve within 1year or more than it, for which patience and
confidence is needed. These aims are essential for professional as well as personal career. It
drives the attention of learner to think about their academic career and also diverted mind and
focus of workers to think about position, power, success and growth that they may desire to
achieve. Long term goals are more important than other things, because it provide what
individual person seek to obtain from so longer and attempt to find ways for it.
My personal long term goals are-
My long term aim is to establish my own business in one of the most profitable market or
sector
I want to become an executive manager
I want to complete my education from well-reputed university.
By setting long term goals, a person may obtain high satisfaction in their life for which
many people attempt to get and work actually hard for it. Goal that person set and those that take
long time are valuable. There are several methods and process available in the world, which
individual may consider and use to achieve long time aims, just like above three. These goals
may relate to personal and professional life. By having and setting long goal, candidate guide
themselves everyday which is quite useful and beneficial for them as it allows to make right
decision.

as well as improvement, which provides benefits to learner and enhance their capabilities even
better than last few years or months. It is quite important for individual, to make a personal
development plan for themselves because it enable them to achieve in vision, or set aim in the
future, which in return provides unexpected outcomes relate to personal or professional life. A
personal development plan gives key opportunity to person, in term of determining strengths and
weaknesses, which is quite necessary to overcome as it may create barriers to in the future career
growth. In term of guide or roadmap, it shows person where they want to go, what seek to
achieve and how. Under personal development plan, varied activities and steps taken into
consideration by applicant that enable them to achieve target aim systematically (Bintani, 2020).
Along with these thing, it may also include time frame under which person may attempt
to reach target aim. It can be said that development is advanced procedure in human life, when a
person creates their personal development plan, it may cater them with that duration for self-
reflection. It provides clear objective that everyone may achieve by conducting hard work
(Yotsombut, Watcharadamrongkun and Theeraroungchaisri, 2021).

From above analysis it has been concluded that by setting short, long and medium term
aims, individual person has obtained their desire outcomes and grabbed the best employment
