INTRODUCTION
Personal Development Plan is very necessary for the arrangement of complete
assessment of the activities to enhance particular skill. Apart from this, one can analyse their role
in work as well as normal daily life. In this plan, per forma journal of core skills has been filled
in order to assess the importance of every skill of an individual. Also, it depicts about the role it
plays in real life and its related perceptions of peer group and tutors regarding specified skills.
Action plan has been made that will comprise of all events to be conducted for developing that
skill in an individual in accordance to given time period.
1. Assessment of Core Skills
Time Management
What is the core skill to develop?
Time management is a major skill which is needed to be developed for increasing efficiency
for performing every task. Every activity is managed in such a way that it tends to complete
the entire project in specified time limit. It facilitates in accomplishment of goals of an
individual related to work or personal life.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on?
This skill is important because every work in life is completed on time which is crucial as one
can be able to accomplish through less amount of efforts. As it enhances decision making
ability of individual more effective. There are many aspects that are taken into consideration in
order to provide correct analysis of particular scenario for which decision has to be taken.
Apart from this, when every task is managed well in accordance to time then reduction in
stress can be observed in individuals.
Reflect on your current competent regarding this skill. How did you assess your
competence?
In accordance to my self-assessment, it has been observed that I can manage my work in an
efficient manner and also, completes every activity on given time period. Apart from this, my
peers say that I am a multitasker and successfully manages numerous tasks. Also, tutors say
that Self-discipline is my major strength because this enables me to perform my work in a

proper way. These skills help to run opportunities to provide quality output for every task.

match between how you see yourself and how others see you, or not?
There are no contradictions between what has been self-assessed and said by others because
self-discipline and multitasking can make an individual to work in an effective manner as it
would provide several benefits such as increase in competence and efficiency of the
presentation. Even I agree on their perception for me. Self-Discipline has assisted me in
completing every activity on particular time period and due to this balancing of several work
in daily routine can be effectively done.
How might this skill help me in the future?
This skill will provide effective assistance in future as one can be able to do more work as
every activity would be handled in an efficacious manner. There will be least resistance and
problem as increase in efficiency would lead to provide the least amount of errors as well as
wastage. In future, I would be able to make a perfect work life balance as all task related to
office work or even personal daily schedule can be handled effectively.
Team Work

Team Work is a core skill that is needed to be developed as it helps to accomplish goals in a
coordinative manner. It is very essential to work in a synchronised process in order to avoid
barriers in successful working.

It is very important to have this skill because an individual should be able to work in a

collaborative manner. Different people have various skills that are needed to be coordinated in
a team for completing particular objective. Every person has its own unique set of skills that
are combined with others for an effective outcome. Apart from this, it helps to provide perfect
management of work in accordance to time perspective.

competence?
It has been assessed that I am comfortable in working with other individuals and has quality of
easily dissolving within a group. Apart from this, I am very collaborative. My peer has
provided me feedback that I cannot work in a team due to least tolerance and tutor has
assessed that trait of smooth adjustment which made me that kind of a person who can work in
any situation. Also, they think my helping nature makes me a highly supportive person.
Flexible personality makes me an individual who is capable of working even in stressed
circumstances.

According to me, my self-assessment and perspective of teachers is similar as these qualities
enable me to adjust and work with everyone. But peer group has contradictory opinions
because they have analysed my behaviour in informal circumstances only. There are some
situations where I might lose my temperament but that occurs very rarely in extreme
situations.
How might this skill help me in the future?
This skill is very important for career as team work is considered to be the base of successful
organisation. It acts as an imperative part that helps to accomplish goals and objectives of the
company by creating synergy. It means that efforts of every individual is directed towards a

particular channel that provides effective outcome. Working in a group serves more
empowerment in the way of working, any removing every barrier from job performance.
While working in a team, it benefits such as individual is able to learn some other skills in a
business which leads to develop their career.
Conflict Resolution

The core skill which is needed to be developed is Conflict Resolution as disputes can lead to
degrade the performance efficiency of an individual. Therefore, it is very important to develop
this skill for effective working. It is required for any kind of situation especially when it is
unpredictable and not called for.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on?
This skill is considered to be very important in the corporate world. An organisation is a group
of several individuals who have different thought procedures. This is one of the major reasons
that results in intense disputes which act as a barrier for proper functioning of a company. It is
very important to resolve them at very initial level so that effectiveness remains. Apart from
this, an individual can become more collaborative and can successfully influence others for
better mutual understanding. Conflicts are vital for overall development of an individual as
well as for company. It leads to better hold up of emotions and reactions.

It has been assessed that I believed in promoting mutual understanding among individuals.
Apart from this, I have an ability to offer mutual solution for the conflicts of others. Also, I can
easily identify the root cause of the problems for positive eradication. According to my peer
group, they have assessed that I have an effective persuading quality and can convince any
individual for the work. Tutors have also asserted that accurate analysing quality makes me to
look more deeper in a particular scenario and also I am successful in maintaining stronger
relationship with other individuals.

There was no contradiction between perspective of tutors and peers as well as for me. They
consider that I have a highly influential personality. I can promote coordinative work by
controlling behaviour of individuals. Apart from this, they also ponder that different people
can arise many clashes that can result in a scenario of tension. Therefore, it is essential to
resolve disputes in an operative manner. This can be successfully achieved by providing
mutual solution on which both party should agree.
How might this skill help me in the future?
This skill is essential for future as it would help to support a coordinative work. With this
behaviour of employees, a company can successfully achieve its goals and objectives. It is very
necessary to resolve any kind of dispute that occurs among employees. This affects the
working environment that adversely impacts productivity. Apart from this, strong relationships
are established that serves operational decision making ability for a particular scenario. It also
provides increase in mutual indulgence of employees that helps to minimise conflicts that
causes tension.
Resilience

Core skill which is needed to be developed is resilience. It means that one should have ability
to recover from every kind of difficulty that is being faced.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on?
This skill is required because it makes an individual able for adapting stress and related
adversity. Stress and other factors arise due to several challenges. Resilience is considered to
be crucial for people as it helps them to take every issue as a challenge which is resolved
effectively and they take failure as a learning for becoming better in future. These skills help to
make person more competent in terms of knowledge and skills. Apart from this, such

individuals are more optimist.

According to me, I have analysed that there are some traits which makes me a resilient person.
Having an optimism vision, provides me to look at a broader perspective. Also, I consider
myself as an emotional and social support to other individuals. According to my peer group,
they think that I possess a high level of Emotional Intelligence due to an ability of
understanding work with accurate feelings. My tutor says that I have a clear perspective
regarding a particular thing and does not create panic for challenges which will be faced in
performing some task.

There are no differences between the feedback of peer group, tutors as well as me. As they
also think that I have a skill of being Resilient which is required for overcoming every obstacle
in path.

These skills are very necessary in future as it serves improvement in learning. A resilient
employee overcome every risk which is related to work performance as provides them a
chance for having a broad scope of vision. It facilitates in completion of objectives and goals
of a company. Positive results are associated with resilient nature. Person with this nature is
regarded to be a responsible person. With the help of these skills, individual creates a
supportive environment which is very important for increasing efficiency and effectiveness
while performing a particular task. Apart from this, individuals provide capacity for working
on a realistic plan in a properly structured manner.

take every challenge positively for better learning. Also, with effective Conflict resolution trait
effective solutions of the problems are provided which aroused due to several reasons.
