INTRODUCTION
Personal development can be described as activity that develop capability of a person and
also develop potential, building human capital enhancing quality of life of a person (Abuloum,
2020). It is a long term process which take though whole life of person and can be develop
through teacher, managers coach, guide, mentor. This project report includes important of
personal as well as professional development of a person. It consist development of personal
development portfolio along with development of transferable skills. Moreover, it consist
development of curriculum vitae which is important for them to apply for a job.
TASK
Importance of personal and professional skills
Personal development can be described as activities that can be develop capability of a
person, potential, building human capital, facilitating employability as well as enhancing quality
of life of a person. It is important for whole life of a person and is not limited to life of a person
(Al Idrus, Wibawa, and Ahmad, 2021). It consist official as well as informal action for purpose
of developing others role like teacher, guide, manager, coach, mentor and other things. It is
important in life of a person for various reason as it provide clarity to vision of a person. It helps
to sharpening existing skills of a person and also helps them to shine to their talent.
Professional development can be described as different resources, tools, training session
for education which allow them to improve quality and effectiveness of a person. It allow them
to improve knowledge of a person and also provide them opportunity to learn. It improve
confidence of a company and also increase their credibility in an organisation. It make
succession planning of a person more easier and also improve efficiency of a person.

to be an active listener for purpose
of this skill.
In order to assess this skill, I
need to score my work in
different situation where I get
opportunity to solve problems.

Transferable skills
 Time management- The time management skills are most important for a person in
order to complete daily routine work on timely basis. In order to develop time
management skills, it is compulsory for a person to gain knowledge related to a subject
matter. Also the time management play an important role in development of effective
personality of a candidate which makes him competitive world (Lin, 2021). Also the
application of time management and its development lead the individual to maintain
precise and systematic operations in professional skills.
 Managerial skills- In the professional life, management skills are most important for a
person to learn with practical approach. Also the management skills helps a person to
approach and manage large number of employees which are present in the company
(Mamvuto, and Kangai, 2021). The managerial skills helps an individual to develop team
management skills which are effective for achievement of set targets and goals.
Professional career contains effective managerial skills which are to be developed by an
individual for achievement of long and short term objectives. Managerial skills are
important in development of dynamic personality of an individual which is helpful in
career development and growth.
 Decision making- Decision making helps a person to formulate effective decisions
which are also risk free. These skills helps a person to develop effective and precise

decision making for the long term growth of organisation. In the era of stiff competition
between different companies, it is also major role of employee of a company to develop
these skills for effective development of the business firm. These skills will help an
individual to formulate major goals and practices and achieve them with quick decisions,
 Leadership- In the professional growth of an individual, the leadership skills are most
vital and have several advantage. The leadership skills helps a leader to manage
workforce in the company in a sustainable manner (Sharifi, Soleimani, and Jafarigohar,
2017). In order to implement major leadership style, democratic leadership style
approach should be selected for effective decision making which involves participation of
all employees. The delegation leadership style is also majorly important to provide
effective decision making by subordinate employees. The decision making by
subordinate employees is most important for a business organisation in order to formulate
and develop employee participation. This also increase satisfaction of employees in order
to achieve sustainable growth.
 Communication skills- Communication skills are also important in self growth and
development which helps in development of effective coordination. These skills are also
important for individual to develop academic growth in a set period of time (Sivan,
2017). Also in order to gain marketplace share in a short span of time, it is important to
take assistance and support of top level and strategic management.
 Problem solving skills- The problem solving skills are most important for a person to
develop effective advantage in career related life. Also the individual should follow
systematic approach in problem solving skills in order to gain optimum solutions for the
major problems (Swart, 2018). In order to increase effective advantage in both career
related and organisational life it is majorly important for a person to develop effective
problem solving skills.
