INTRODUCTION
Personal development is found to be a continuous process a self improvement which
includes learning of new skills, and earning of new qualification (Maseleno and et.al., 2018).
Personal development is applicable to both personal and professional life. According to the
study in international coaching, it is identified that with the help of personal development, 4%
of employees got smarter and goal set (11 Benefits of Personal Development and Creating a
Plan, 2021). It is important it for students that they need to develop skills and knowledge for
achieving their career objectives and goals. This report aims to identifying and reflecting on
personal development with the special reference in business and management. In this report,
it will cover self reflection on personal development and transferrable skills. It will cover
personal development log, action plan and curriculum vitae.
MAIN BODY
1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development, and the
transferable skills
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal learning and development
It is necessary each and every students to learn with the help of personal learning and
development (Li and Wong, 2021). For the purpose of achieving goals and objectives by
students, it is crucial for them that they need to work on personal learning and development.
In my case, I always ready for self learning as it helps an individual for my personal growth. I
found that personal learning and development is provided me many benefits as I felt that now
my confidence is increasing due to self learning. I identified that with the help of personal
learning and development, I am able to build up skills, knowledge, sense of identity and
awareness. I found my career in business and management and this is the main reason that
development of skills and knowledge is crucial for me. The business environment is rapidly
changed due to their dynamic nature and it results in increasing complexities for
organisations (Tsai, Perrotta and Gašević, 2020). In order to address the challenges faced by
an organisation, managers of company are focusing on hiring skilful and talented employees.
That's why I found that it is crucial for me to learn transferable skills with the help of
personal learning and development as transferable skills are applicable in each type of
organisation. This is the reason that now I am focusing on personal learning and development

and for that purpose, I used some important approaches which includes positive psychology,
active listening, conscious leadership, awareness and presence, etc. These approaches are
very helpful for an individual as it assists in developing skills and knowledge. That’s why I
identified that these approaches should be used by individual so that I am able to increase
competencies as well as employability skills. I am suggested that positive psychologist as it is
very helpful in improving emotional maturity, realising burnout, more engagement and well
being. In order to maintain this approach, I am always focusing on practicing meditation as it
helps me to self awareness and fostering positive attitude. In addition to this, I am trying to
listen actively which helps in reducing confusions. So in this way, I am focusing on
improving skills and knowledge.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed by attending this module
It is very important for every individual that they need to develop transferable skills as
it is required in every field (Han and et.al., 2020). This is the main reason that I am focusing
on development of transferrable skills. There are some skills which I already developed by
attending of module. There are some lectures which helps me to improve transferrable skills
such as communication skills, teamwork skills, analytical skills, etc. After attending off
lecture modules, I realise that some transferable skills I already developed. In module, my
teacher always provided a final assignment after every lecture in which we have to give a
presentation in front of all students. By doing this in regular basis, I analysed that I was
improved my communication skills. I also analysed that my analytical skills improved which
assist me to analyse a situation in an effective way. Analytical skills are playing a very
important role in order to analyse the situation which results in taking right decisions (Tsatiris
and Karpouzis, 2021). That means it can be easily say effective analytical skills leads to
better decision making. I also started to talk with other people which help me to improve my
interpersonal skills. I was lacking in confidence especially when I was talking with other
people. So because of attending lecture modules, I identified that my confidence is increasing
in communication skills. For more improvement in communication skills, I focused on
personal learning and development in which I did practicing on a regular basis in front of the
mirror and start to talk with mirror. It was really helpful for me as it helps me to provide
confidence and chances for improving communication skills. After regular practicing of these
types of activities, I analysed that it is crucial for an individual to regular practice is an
important part of personal learning and development which should not be stop as it helps an
individual to improve their transferable skills which leads to career growth.

1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies, personal life and the
workplace
During the lectures, I found that there are some more important skills which I need to
develop in personal life, academic studies and workplace. I analyse that there are many
important skills which is necessary for every individual who wants to grow their career
should focus on developing skills and knowledge. There are some important skills which I
would like to develop such as leadership skills, problem solving skills, adaptability skills,
teamwork skills and presentation skills. These are the important discuss which I would like to
develop. In these skills, I found that some skills can be developed in my academic such as
presentation skills. Leadership and adaptability skills can be developed in the workplace as it
needs a practical applicability (Melzer, Melzer and Reibold, 2019). The last teamwork skills
can be developed from any place whether it is academic studies, personal life or workplace.
