1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development,
and the transferable skills
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal
learning and development
Personality development is very essential in the life of an individual because it is a
factor which plays a crucial role in building a person's personal and professional life. It is a
process where according to the analysis of the skills and knowledge of an individual motives
are planned which helps in enhancing the abilities of the personality. Also. When these skills
which are mentioned above are identified then it helps an individual in desired goal setting
which are to be achieved in their life so that they can sense and attain self confidence.
Moreover, it gives a certain kick-start to the development process which is related to the
objectives of an individual which are to be achieved by forming strategies and plans. When
an individual enhances their self personality it results in the skills development and the
growth of knowledge and awareness, this is known as the process of personal development.
For the working of this process, the potential and capabilities of a person can be developed by
conducting various activities and thus enhancing their potential by it. The employment
capabilities of the person also increase which helps in increasing the quality of life and
standard of living. This process of personal development also helps in developing the
interpersonal skills which involves aspects relating to listening and communication skills.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed
by attending this module
Different types of skills have been developed by me while I worked on this project
module, they have led me towards growth and learning. I have learned from this assignment
that adopting and bringing change in our behavior and conduct is essential with the changes
in the technologies because it helps in facing the competitions that are present in the market.
Developing varied skills will help me in facing the problems and coping with them. Thus,
following are the skills which have helped in my development process:
 Logic and analytical skills- These skills help in the problem solving by issue and
problem analysis that come during the academic period. My assignments used to get
late and delayed or sometimes were not completed due to difficulty in finding logical
solutions when I did not possess these skills. But this assignment has helped me
developing logical problem solving skills which helps in building creativity by

inculcating innovative ideas within my work. Me and my team mates learned to
complete our projects on time with usage of this skill.
 Interpersonal skills- This module has helped me develop my communication skills
effectively. I have become better at communicating my thoughts. This module
demanded group activities where other members are involved, thus it had a lot of
communication which had to happen so it helped me communicate my ideas. My
presentation skills also improved because it involves communication with the other
team members. I was able to communicate my points in a debate which showed my
development of Interpersonal skills.
 Effective Writing skills- All sectors of life demand good writing skills be it on the
educational level or on a professional scale. Possessing good wiring skills helps an
individual to handle and manage their assignments . Also it helps in effectively
communicating on the emails or messages because writing showcases what an
individual thinks. While writing for this assignment, I have enhanced writing skills
due to which I can communicate my thoughts with ease with better clarity and
understanding.
 Learning skills- These skills are also known by the name of Cognitive skills which
implies gaining knowledge and experience with respect to new things thus it does not
get limited to reading or studying something. It helps in developing a innovate and
fresh thought process which can help in thinking uniquely for the academics. Thus,
this skills has helped me adopted a dynamic way of thinking which has increased my
abilities.
The above mentioned skills clearly define what skills have been developed and improved by
me in myself by this module. There are also various other skills which have been improved
by me. Improvement of these skills will help me in my career growth in future. It will help
me in addressing the opportunities for growth. They have also helped me analyzing my
weaknesses which can act as problems for me in leading a successful career thus I am
working on them to make them my strengths.
1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies,
personal life and the workplace
I have identified certain skills after completing this project successfully which should
be developed by me so that my personality can be improved. My confidence is likely to

improve with these skills which will help in developing competitive spirit so that I can
compete effectively with other members in team. The skills that I want to develop for my
academics, personal and professional life are discussed below:
 Presentation skills- this is the most important skill to communicate and present
oneself. Thus I would like to develop this skill so that my presentation skills improve
and my thoughts can be effectively communicated with my team because it also
enhances public speaking confidence of an individual. It will also help in presenting
myself in front of the audience.
 Leadership skills- This skills is very important for an individual to lead, guide and
influence the followers. I want to develop this skills so that I can raise my view points
strongly and make others follow my ideas by leading them. Thus it becomes a crucial
part of my personal and professional space.
 Soft and effective communication skills- Polite communication is essential in
building good relations with my colleagues and team members. These help in
effective communication and building bonds so that other hear what I want to say. It
will help me in achieving longer term of success.
 Critical Thinking- Analytical skills of thinking help to develop thinking abilities so I
want to develop this skill of critical analysis. It will provide ease while addressing the
problems which I face while being in the academic or professional life. Data analysis
and evaluation will become easier with this skill.
