INTRODUCTION Personal development is considered as the continuous act to examine their life objective and values as well as developing individual’s competencies and qualities for reaching their potential. Moreover, this includes practices which form a individual’s abilities and efforts, building human capital, renders employability and maximise quality of life and realisation of dreams and aspirations. Additionally, this is helpful for person in describing its personal vision and life goals in much clear way. The aim of this report is to prepare a personal development portfolio that understanding the effectiveness of academic and professional skills for its career into business management. For this, the report will present some of the important document like PDP plan, analysis of transferable skills, own approach towards learning and development. Also, other documents like CV, actions plans are developed within the project. MAIN BODY 1.0 Own reflection and approach for personal learning and development. Self reflection is undertaken to be the essential cog into self develop practices. Moreover, this assists person to determine what competencies it required to improve, what goals they desires to meet and what they are performing in much efficient manner. Additionally, for all individuals it is vital to perform those activities that would aid them in personal learning, development and improving transferable skills.So, duringthe study of business management and its professional practice I do have to foster a lot of challenges as well as enormous opportunities. Innovative and creative thinking and ideas are a must to study business management. There are also other aspects like balancing with academic parts, learning team works which help to study and practice business management. While learning in business management I identified that academic and professional skills are very important. As academic skills are those which boost students learning capabilities and developing values.It fosters confidence, creativity, integrity factors into them. They also allow the students to be confident while communicating in the English language. It also develops the skill of academic writing properly in an effective manner. While on other side, professional values are those which require to work with utmost integrity and creates opportunity for self growth and developments.It flourishes the environment of the workplace and elaborates the behaviors of the employees as well. So, through SWOT analysis I get to know that both of my skills are weak. Though during learning this module of business management I would able to 1
developmyknowledgeandcompetencieswhichwillbehelpfulintomypersonaland professional career. 1.1 Reflect for own approach towards learning While developing my personal learning and development, I have identified that there are various challenges which comes into my ways. The important challenge is communication gaps as my communication skills are not good so, this impacts my career. The other one is Low level performances while working on any organisation individuals sometimes are unable to give best of their efforts. It shows their declining performance. Also, I faced various more challenges such as lack of numeracy skills, and others. So, performing my SWOT analysis by whichI have detailed my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the market and the organization in a form of SWOT. My strengths are my knowledge of communication skills, content writing skill, social media knowledge, analytical skill, and blogging. My weaknesses are, I am much able to create bonds and relations, less consistency and not much knowledge of marketing concept. My opportunities are that the organization needs experts in digital sites, enhancing demands of quality content, and demand of online marketing. There are many threats which creates impact on the personal learning and opportunities. These wide number of market factors like often changing environment, technologies and competition. 1.2 What are transferable skills andwhich I have developed through this module. Transferable skills are known to be those competencies which person develops as they grow by education,or training, employmentand many more. Some of the examplesof transferable skills are communication, problem resolving and team work as it may be utilised into any employed role, its education or vocational training. So, during attending this module, I have develop my various transferable skills such as communication skills, content writing skills, social media knowledge, analytical skills, blogging and others. 2
