Introduction
It is important that an individual have right and accurate skill set in order to successfully and
effectively conduct business practices. Personal and professional development is one of the
important part of an individual that will help in correctly performing required set of activities
as well as attaining desired goals (Rea‐Sandin and et.al., 2021). This helps in developing
various skills and capabilities of the person through which they can enhance their
performance level and attain goals. This report includes information regarding personal and
professional development. In this value of short term, medium term and long term values
have been analysed. Apart from this value of personal development plan has been included in
this report.
Personal and professional development
Personal and professional development plan can be describe as the process which is
consider by an individual to successfully and effectively conduct activities. It is essential for
an individual to develop a proper personal and professional development plan that will lead to
enhance required skills set and experiences of the person. It has been identified that personal
and professional development is very important as it will lead to have significant impact on
the capabilities and potential of a person to conduct practices. Through this a person will be
able to successfully attain personal as well as professional goals. Professional growth can be
explain as the practice of gaining and developing new skills that will help in development of
current role or the role needs to be accomplished. It has been analysed that personal
development is also crucial for an individual so that they can learn about taking more
responsibility, succeed with the greater challenges (Gill and et.al., 2021). There are different
activities and task that needs to be performed by an individual for overall personal and
professional development. This is consider as very important part for an individual who
wants to grow as well as reach full potentials. It has been determined that personal and
professional development is an ongoing process in which different goals and practices are
includes. Personal and professional development is consider to be significant in order to
become more fulfilled, happier as well as higher quality. The main motive of personal and
professional development is continuously learning and developing new skills or knowledge
that will directly assist in career goals as well as meeting with different needs of an

individual. This is helpful for providing right and clear direction to individual so that desired
goals could be timely accomplished.
The value of short term goals
Short term goals can be describe as the milestones in the journey of the individual that helps
in reaching long term goals of the life. It is essential that a person in developing short term
goals so that clear direction for accomplishment of the goals could be successfully
determined. Through short term goals individual will be able to determine how long they
have travelled with the motive of reaching ultimate destination. It is essential that individual
have right and accurate short term goals with the motive of successfully attaining long term
goals (Tran and et.al., 2021). This can be describe as the breaking of long term goals into
smaller parts. Short term goals are effective for providing proper track of the progress of an
individual towards goals and determining where they stand. This is refer as the connection
between where individual is as well as where they want to be in future. It is crucial that an
individual is developing specific, measurable goals which they want to be accomplish in
future.

 To read a book on leadership
 To increase my capability to be more productivity and complete required set of task in
right time.
 To improve social networking practices as well as communicate with different people.
The value of medium term goals
Medium term goals can be describe as the best for the both short term goals and long term
goals. This type of goals are comparatively longer then short term goals as well as shorter
then long term goals. Medium term goals are consider to be longer enough to make
significant progress while short enough that long term goals are accomplished by an
individual (Träff and Östergren, 2021). There are different benefits and advantages
accomplished by setting and accomplishing medium term goals. This type of goals are form 3
years to 5 years of time duration. It is essential that proper setting of expectation is set

for the attaining medium term goals. Medium term goals are very valuable for personal and
professional development practices of an individual as it is not focusing on altering the
priorities, principles, ethics, and habits as well as thinking patterns.
Examples of medium term goals are mention below –
 To develop leadership skills for effectively conducting leadership activities in
organisation.
 To enhance communication skills for attaining more growth opportunities.
 To improve time management skills with the motive of increasing productivity and
performance.
The value of long term goals
Long term goals are very important in order to provide right and accurate guidance to and
individual for successfully and effectively conducting required set of activities. This is very
important for increasing and enhancing potential of a person so that personal and professional
goals could be timely attain. Long term goals can be describe as something that individual
want to accomplish in the future. This type of goal is set for more than 5 years. It is essential
for a person to take small steps for accomplishing and meeting with long term goals. It has
been analysed that this is very important for career growth and development as well as
enhancing various skills set that is helpful for overall development of an individual.
Examples of long term goals is mention below –
 To buy a own house.
 To get a dream job.
 To purchase new luxury car.
The value of a Personal Development Plan
Personal development plan is consider to be very important and significant for an individual.
This can be describe as the road map which needs to be consider for becoming the best
version of yourself so that personal as well as professional activities could be successfully
performed. It is essential for a person to develop a proper and effective personal development
plan that is accurate for providing right and clear direction for increasing skills and

capabilities. There are number of benefits and advantages that could be accomplished by
development of personal development plan and this will support in helping individual for
career growth and development. Through the support of personal development plan
individual will be able to become more dedicated and enthusiastic for learn new skills as well

value of personal development plan is that it will help in increasing new skills and
capabilities. It has been determined that through the support of effective and efficient
development plan an individual will be able to identify different skills which are lack as well
as needs to be developed so that desired objectives could be successfully attain. This is
valuable for career growth and development. Through personal development plan various
areas could be identified that needs to be significantly improve. This helps in being prepared
regarding the future as well as being proactive in every aspect of the life. Person development
includes different aspects such as personal life, career growth, relationships, hobbies and so
on. It has been determined that personal development is consider to be very important as this
will help in improving mental health of the individual as well as increasing self esteem.
Through this individual will be able to develop better and effective relationships with other
people as well as enhance networks. This is effective for enjoyment of a person and help in
