1. Introduction
An individual need to develop his/her core competence skills and knowledge to get closer accomplish career success. Personal
development is somewhat meant by enhancing own competencies and skills to accomplish a specified career objective. These
involve building academic skills both technical and soft skills in order to conveniently get employability. This report talks about that
the concept of personal and professional development, the value of short-term, medium-term and long-term personal development
goals with specific examples and personal development plan. Wherein personal development plan is defined by a schedule of
planning that an individual prepares to analyze own strengths and weaknesses, this also helps to note down all the possible
measures that can be taken in order to enhance the areas of development with a specified time period (Aguinis and Gabriel, 2021).
2. Determine of the concept of personal and professional development
Personal Development planning is determined by a process when an individual plan certain actions and measures in order to
accomplish the career objectives. Personal development Planning supports improvement and development of current set of skills
by setting achievable goals for a specified time. Reflection in the personal development planning process plays crucial role as with
the help of reflection an individual is able to analyse the grey areas which needs to be improved. Reflection in a personal
development process also helps to amplify learning and develops a long lasting habit of analysing own strengths and weaknesses .
Personal and professional development is important in different ways wherein it builds confidence and believe in true selves,
develops required skills and capabilities to the respective career objectives. It also helps to get better career choices in
employability (Cottrell, 2015). A professional development planning is determined by delivering suffice and proper training and
development activity to the employees in the workplace so that they are competent enough to combat and deal with the challenges
faced in the workplace. In personal development individual focuses on self-development which are more relevant to his or her
