1PERSONAL GOALS AND REFLECTION 1. Introduction Goal setting is an important task in life as it helps in determining the path that would ultimately lead individuals, groups and organizations to success. My personal strengths and weaknesses are aligned with my goals and analyzed subsequently. Reflections have been given on the goal setting that has been done. 2. Significance of Goal Setting and Reflection Goal setting is important as it helps to identify the significant areas that need to be addressed in order to reach greater heights in personal and professional life. In professional life it becomes quite impossible to achieve success without proper goal setting. It helps to align the skills of a person with the career objectives and move forward accordingly. I have used goal setting as an essential tool for determining my career growth. 2.1 Theory, Frameworks and Assessments Various theories determined my goal setting exercises and made them easier to approach. One of the important theories was the experiential learning theory of Kolb. In this theory the subjectiveexperiencesofalearnergreatlyinfluencesthewayinwhichhedevelops understanding of what is learnt. The knowledge of the past, present and future are much important for effective goal setting functions and I have utilized the same towards creating my essential goal (Kolb,2014). I believe I would have to utilize these knowledge further to effectively enhance my goal setting strategy. It is important for me to understand my strengths by analyzing my past, put them in the context of my present and consider these two elements vitally to formulate my significant personal and professional goals (Knaus et al., 2010).
2PERSONAL GOALS AND REFLECTION The framework that I would like to use for my future goal setting is the gap analysis framework. The framework consists of three essential parts. Firstly, the attributes are listed and performance levels are evaluated and both are analyzed in relation to the future objectives. Secondly, the factors that are found are cross listed according to the requirements of achieving future goals. The third process is highlighting the gaps that are present considering the current performance levels and attributes with the levels and competencies that are required to achieve the significant future goals. The assessment that I have gone through is the LPA score for finding the competencies of learning and self-development. Along with the same the Gallup individual test have been used. The first assessment helps to understand the personal competencies. The Gallup score helps to essentially understand the personal attributes that are required for the growth of the self. These assessments have helped me to understand about my present strengths and weaknesses and put them in the context of my future growth potential. 3. Personal Goals I have some important personal goals that I want to fulfill as I strive towards achieving excellence in my professional life. Firstly, I want to do my internship in Human Resource and gain as much initial learning possible to create a strong base for my future development. Secondly, my goal is to gain the 3Ls learning certificate. This means that I want to achieve distinction as a learner, listener and Leader after the internship is complete. Along with this I would also like to gain the training and assessment certificate. Thirdly, after the successful completion of this I would like to own my construction management company. Fourthly, my crucial goal is to build a strong network for my construction management company. Fifthly, after

Critical Reflection 4.1 Client management My workplace experience was effective in determining my goal oriented learning and development. Firstly, an important experience was when I got to interact with my manager. I learnt that a certain level of personal connection is required with the manger to properly coordinate during work. Secondly, while at work I got to know the various kinds of people that one interacts with in the HR profession. Some of the people were very good while others were not sure whether the actually wanted to work. This made me think that a certain level of positive outlook is required for work. Thirdly, to manage the clients I had to provide great details of the job scenario that the organization offered. This taught me to always be equipped to gather essential information about the organization. 4.2 LPA LPA is an assessment for learning and development that I took to assess my strengths and weaknesses. According to this test on a highest point of 10, I scored 7 on the criteria for analyzing and solving problems. On working with others I scored 4. Achieving objectives score for me was a proper 10. On learning and self-development I scored 8. Lastly, the measure for adapting to change was 5. According to this test the areas that I should mostly focus towards are working with others and adapting to change. I would require to enhance these two aspects in the times to come.
