INTRODUCTIONPersonal leadership and management refers to the management and leadership of own orself. It can be develop by anyone who wants to lead from the inside out (Bush, Bell andMiddlewood, 2019).Overview of the chosen organizationThe hotel Phoenicia is a five star hotel which was established in year 1930. It is in theFloriana, Malta. It has around 137 rooms. It is considered to be one of the most popular hotel inthe Malta. This report will analysis the impact of various organizational aspects on the leadership &management, evaluation of the leadership and management skills required to operate thebusiness and do assessment of the personal leadership and management skills. It will highlightthe required areas for the development, assessment of the opportunities to development of skillsand construct the personal development plan. Report will tell about the management of thepersonal development of the skills, review & evaluate the effectiveness of the personaldevelopment plan and analysis the further development & update of the personal developmentplan. TASK 1 Impact of organizational objectives, values and culture on the leadership and management roleEvery company has its own mission, vision, goals, objectives, core values and cultureswhich must be achieved by the organization for the creation of customers values, enhancementof brand image & effectiveness and generation of profitability & revenue. In order to achieve allthe above mentioned objectives, Hotel Phoenicia has its own mission, vision, goals, objectives,core values and organizational culture. These all are look by the manager and leaders of thecompany. Thus, it is necessary to know about the impact of organizational objectives, values andculture on the leadership and management role in the Hotel Phoenicia. IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL OBJECTIVES ON THE LEADERSHIP ANDMANAGEMENT ROLE IN HOTEL PHOENICIAOrganizational objectives affects the role of leadership and management in theorganization. On the basis of the objectives, Leaders and managers of the organization adoptstheir leadership and management style. For example – if Hotel's objectives are hard to achieveand managers & leaders' attitude towards employees are be like – they don't care about1
employees' benefits or employees' motivation or employees' involvement etc. In that case, for theachievement of hard objectives of the company, Managers and leaders will adopt bureaucraticleadership and management style. On the flip side, if managers and leaders of the organizationsare worried and concerned about their employees and their works, in that case, managers andleaders will adopt participative style. Like this, objectives affect the leadership and managementstyle which in turn affects their role (What is Personal Leadership?, 2016). IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL VALUES ON THE LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENTROLE IN HOTEL PHOENICIAOrganizational core values affects the role of leadership and management in theorganization. On the basis of core values, company determine its norms and standards whichmust be followed by the leaders and managers of the organization. For example – If HotelPhoenicia has integrity as their core value. Then manager and leader of the company has to focuson the team building strategies. Their focus will be on the creation of communication, co-ordination and integration of employees, staffs, managers and leaders. That's how core value ofthe company affect the leadership and management.IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE ON THE LEADERSHIP ANDMANAGEMENT ROLE IN HOTEL PHOENICIAOrganizational culture affects the role of leadership and management in the organization.On the basis of the organizational culture, managers and leaders do behave in the organization.For example – if the organizational culture of the Hotel Phoenicia is negative, that meansemployees are not happy, motivated and co-operative. There can be conflicts between any of thetwo parties of the organization. All of these will affect the leaders and managers and they won'tbe able to focus on their employees, tasks and objectives. This will affect their roles in theorganization. On the contrast, if there is a good and positive culture in the organization, it willmotivate the employees to do work properly which will make managers and leaders satisfied,they will be able to focus on their employees and tasks properly. This will help them to achievetheir objectives of the hotel. Like this, culture affect the management and leadership (Gopee andGalloway, 2017). 2
