1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal
learning and development
It is a lifelong process which involves the assessment of talent and skills and
enhance them to improve the quality of life. It includes activities which improves in
facilitate employability and build human capital, develop potential and talents,
improves quality of life and contribute to realisation of aspirations and dreams. It
helps to define the life goals and personal vision more clearly. It is the procedure for
improving in themselves as it also enables an individual I order to give thought on
capabilities and developing various skills in their life. It can be achieved through the
work environment or by a person independently. There are various types of
advantages which an individual can get from personal development and learning are
discussed below:
ï‚· In order to improve and enhance their career it will helps a person to grow
their skills.
ï‚· It will help to get a better work life balance in life and improve the ones
confidence, knowledge, career prospects and moral.
ï‚· An individual will get an understanding of their qualities more accurately in
their life.
ï‚· By the help of personal development and learning an individual or person can
make attainable goals which can be achieved efficiently.
ï‚· In order to reach the goals or objectives it will help the people to make
feasible goals in life which motivates them towards the self development.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed
by attending this module
Adaptability: It is the capability of the people which helps to get adjust in
different situations so that can be tackle properly. I have developed the adaptability
by the help of attending this module. In order to get the job work done effectively I
need to learn new skills and adapt them which will help me to do the work. It helps
me to modify the unfortunate changes which are going to come in future and enables
to accept the thoughts or views of the person without any conducting debate. In
order to perform the work under stress effectively it enabled a quality in me.

Communication Skills: It is the ability to write, listen and speak and it is a
crucial skill when seeking a business management job. I have realised that I have to
communicate efficiently and clearly to peers, clients, media, employees, bosses,
business owners and suppliers. For external and internal communication both written
and verbal communication skills plays an important role for example in meeting with
co-workers or clients and at time of negotiation. By developing this skills it will help to
grow in my future career effectively and efficiently.
Problem Solving: This type of skill will help an individual to analyse and
identify the difficult or complex issues and find out the effective solutions for the
same issues. I have learned that creative thinking will help the company to solve the
problems with innovative solutions. It helps me to find the find the solutions for
issues at different scenarios. It enables me to get mentally prepared in advance for
the upcoming issues. I have the ability to solve the problems effectively and
efficiently by giving innovative ideas and solutions which will help the company to
grow at its higher position.
Team Work: It means to work together as a group or team in order to achieve
the common goals. Here, part of the team and being in a team is two different things.
It helps me to understand and gain knowledge that the work can be done fast and
easier if it involves the whole team or group. As the problems can be solved easily
and effectively and apart from this it will help me to develop my collaboration skills.
By the help of attending the module I developed the ability to work in team as
working in team will be more profitable as the work can be done more comfortably
and easily.
Attention To Detail: It is very important skills for a person as it helps to
perform less mistakes. By knowing each and every detail about the work than it will
be easier for the employee or staff to perform its duties without any mistakes. It
helped me to find error by paying more attention in performing the activities and able
to deal with the same errors so that I can correct it. It improves and enhance my
skills and knowledge which I already posses. I always try to pay attention to each
detail given about the project so that it can be done easily and appropriately.
Listening Skills: For an individual it is important to communicate properly
with someone. Without the listening skills I am unable to communicate properly with
others. It helps to solve a client or team conflicts can be resolved. It is necessary for
me to have this skills in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the company

effectively and efficiently. Without knowing properly other individual perception a
person cannot solve the conflict or problems which arises in the company. It helps to
understand the communication. I am a good listener and by applying this skills in an
organisation I can solve the conflicts able to achieve the goals of the organisation
efficiently.
1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies,
personal life and the workplace
Public Speaking: It is a type of skill where a person need to speak on stage
in front of large number of people. During my academic studies, at the workplace or
in my personal life I would like to develop this skill because it has a great potential to
boost the confidence in an individual. I always have a stage fear of speaking and I
want to overcome as it has a various use in different field such as in corporate
organisation or in educational institution.
Leadership Skills: It enables an individual to provide accurate or proper
guidance to their followers which help them to enhance their life. It will help the
leader to motivate their team members and get the work done by their team
effectively and efficiently. I have a lack of leadership skills in me which I wanted to
develop so that I can able to achieve my future goals or objectives appropriately. I
need to develop the leadership skills which is very necessary to work in any
organisation.
Time Management: It is the ability to schedule and organise the time
efficiently. It will help the individual in dividing the time and activities and identifies
how much time will be spend accordingly. By managing the time and work
accordingly it will to help to complete the task effectively and timely. I wanted to
develop this skill because it will help me to enhance the confidence level and reduce
the stress level. It will also provide free time to do the activities which I wanted to do
freely.
Negotiation skills: In order to conduct an effective communication with
others it helps the individual to reach to an agreement. As a strategy it is generally
considered to win from other person from negotiating. The one must have the
negotiation skills in them which is very important. I wanted to develop this skill as it

will help in negotiating in my workplace in order to get a holiday for any personal
reason or to get a hike in a salary.
Creativity Skills: In order to solve a problem in different way it is the
capability of an individual to think creatively. The one must have this skills which will
help the company to solve the complex problem in an effective way. In a person it
arises a quality to think of new technique or idea in order to solve the problem easily
rather than using the traditional method. It enables the person to look the problems
and solve them in an unique and creative way.
