environment of the organisation affected by different set of forces which could create negative
and positive impacts depending upon the situation (Harris, and Kelly, 2019). For evaluation of the
management and leadership skills. Gibbs reflective model which is developed by Graham Gibbs
in 1908. This model helps to identify different experiences of a person while doing operations in
the market.
The model is further described below:
Description – This stage explains about all the situations in a systematic way. When I
was working in the organisation. My main responsibility is managing the work
effectively. Being a manager I have to manage a group of different individual
systematically. My main motive is to carry out maximum productivity from the
employees. I faced different challenges at first in the workplace. The main motive of my
duty is to manage everything perfectly in the organisation. During my working time I
develop different leadership skills and develop different abilities to work effectively in
the company. I had faced different problems while working in the organisation. For
example, like system failures, problems in managing the data. with the help of time
management and leadership skills I had overcome all these problems.
Evaluation – Being a senior manager in the organisation is a tough job. There are
different duties and responsibilities which I had to perform in the company. I had to
ensure that all the operation is going on effectively. I had developed problem solving skill
to execute my work systematically. To give the organisation maximum output I had to
ensure that all the employees are doing their work strategically and generating maximum
productivity (Mahdy, and Zaghloul, 2020). I always try to build healthy relationship with
other subordinates in the organisation. Leadership Skills like division of work helped me
to transfer different duties to the individuals effectively. I have also formulated different
plans and strategies to help the employees in the company. This opens the scope of
different opportunities for the employees and for myself.
Analysis – This is the step which helps the individual to see whether the work is carried
out effectively or not. My main work responsibility is to create a healthy working

environment for all the employees. Management Skills like communication and
motivation is important and it is the most effective ability which the organisation require
from a manager. On the other hand, effective thinking always helped me to solve
different problems in the workplace. It helps me to generate new innovative business idea
to achieve the inherent goals and objectives for the organisation. I personally motivate the
employees regularly to maximize resources and gain maximum productivity in the
workplace.
Conclusion – This Stage suggests that after completion of work what is the final result of
performing the duties and work responsibilities. I have put my experience effectively to
generate maximum revenues in the market (Fleming, and Kowalsky,2021). I always build
a healthy working environment and maintain good relationship with the employees. I
always understand the employees needs and help them to overcome difficult situations.
The main work responsibility is to ensure that all workforce is doing their operations
effectively. This is the plus point for me that I manage all the work systematically. I had
faced various difficult situations but I have the never give up Attitude which is main
quality of myself. But after some time I had overcome different situations.
Action – While working in the organisation as a manager I had faced different
challenges. Due to my work negligence the organisation has faced heavy losses in the
market. I have used my managerial skills effective communication, problem solving,
coordination skills to solve different problems in the organisation (Tripathy, 2018). I was
always creating new innovative ideas to help the company to have an efficient growth in
the market. Various new Ethics and values are implemented in the workplace to generate
more productivity from the employees. With the help of time I carry out my work
responsibilities and operations smoothly and also help other staff other workers to do
their job effectively.
From the above theory it has been evaluated that This model helped the individual to
reflect its leadership and managerial skills for the organisation. This helps the person and the
business to create a workflow in the company in a structured manner. By including different
duties and work responsibilities. It promotes teamwork to motivate all the employees to gain
maximum productivity in the organisation. These skills help the individual to manage

different business operation strategically. In future the manager could develop different skills
and knowledge to improve the performance and had efficient growth in the future.
Personal development plan
It is an actual plan that aids in the determination of goals & objectives that must be met. It
recognizes the power &weaknesses of the organisation &provides measures to enhance
productivity (Alsharo, Gregg and Ramirez, 2017). A personal development gives a clear picture
of the skills &talents that a people needs to create in order to gain success. This strategic
marketing plan aid in the establishment of a priority queue, indicating whose skills should indeed
be acquired first in order to improve the ability. The following is a self improvement plan:

TASK 2
Explaining the following transferable skills using relevant theory &applying
them to an organisation
On a daily basis, transferable talents are applied in the workplace. These abilities may be used to
any field or job position. These abilities might be transferred to a new business. Coding, research
process, &other hard talents are examples. To master this set of talents, an individual must have
prior experience. Soft skills, from the other hand, include interaction, multitasking, cooperation,
&so on. While working for the firm, the individual develops these talents. ASDA is a
multinational retail supermarket chain with operations in several countries. Their goal is to
supply clients with high-quality items at an accessible price (Lejeune, Beausaert and
Raemdonck, 2021).
Explaining the transferable skills:
Supportive Communication
It is a communication style that enables an individual to communicate properly with others in the
corporation. The primary goal of this talent is to develop relationships with other firm personnel.
This will enable the individual to report any organisational flaws. On the other side, the company
might benefit from the employee's comments. A different flow hypothesis might be utilised to
better explain good communication:

According to this hypothesis, communication will flow freely inside the business. Consumers
have the capability to spread directly with senior management executives. The individual should
be able to successfully interact with both the company's management (Herzberg, 2017).
ASDA use this philosophy to address a variety of staff issues. Individuals might transmit their
thoughts to management while developing fresh inventive concepts. The industry's
communications are delivered in a methodical manner. This aids the company in generating
more income in the marketplace.
Motivation
It is a motivator that encourages people to work more efficiently toward their aims &goals. The
business may utilise effective incentives to get the most out of its staff (Gastil, &Broghammer,
2021). Maslow theory might be utilised to better comprehend this talent.
Physiological Needs - When working at the company, the individual concentrates on
achieving fundamental necessities in this component. Food, housing, &other necessities
are included.
Safety Needs – In this component, the human aspires to have a stable employment role
within the organization. Various criteria are required for the organisation to ensure job
security. ASDA provides a healthy work environment for its workers. Employees are
supported by employers who provide employment satisfaction &security. As a result,
individuals are entirely &able to attain high work performance at work (Madalina, 2016).
Love &belonging Needs – This component indicates that the employee develops
interpersonal sentiments while working for the company. These emotions assist them in
forming good working relationships. On the other side, it encompasses things like desire,
compassion, &commitment. In the case of ASDA, its staff form cordial relationships

within the company. Their administration guarantees that everyone works in a pleasant
environment.
Esteem needs: In order to meet this demand, the individual finds respect, dignity,
&authority while working for the company. These requirements demonstrate that, once
all of the preceding requirements have been met, the individual requires affirmations.
Psychological empowerment is dependent on these requirements (Lynch, &Mcloughlin,
2018). During working at ASDA, I saw that the corporation provides a terrific
atmosphere for the self-cantered individual who desires a stake in the company &a sense
of self-identity (Mosadeghrad and Mojbafan, 2019).
Self actualisation needs: These are the necessities that really need the individuals to have
a great potentiality to move beyond their current capabilities. To get to this point, the
person needs a lot of abilities &qualifications. ASDA provides several possibilities for
staff to advance &achieve greater success.
Empowerment
This is another form of transferrable talent that every individual should possess. These abilities
are mostly seen in management &leadership who encourage others to perform certain tasks
&inspire them to achieve high levels of success. There are a variety of reasons why individuals
are dissatisfied &in a state of flux. People may lose motivation &emotional control as a result of
the various implications of life. Customers, administrators, &otter staff face several challenges in
a changing corporate climate, which leads to disagreements &internal politics. It demonstrates
10
Document Page
that there is still a lack of empowerment inside the company, which makes it difficult for
employees to stay committed to attaining aims &goals (Nguyen, 2017).
In order to establish teams &collaborate, empowerment principles are critical. The board
believes it is critical to operate in collaboration, with each member supporting the others when
problems or challenges arise. It has been discovered while working at ASDA that the managers
&supervisors are cooperative &driven to influence others. Because of the global workplace, the
firm must seek out every section &its employees who are committed to attaining the industry's
objectives &goals. The Karter theory of leadership better explains the following essential
elements of empowering that benefit persons:
This idea demonstrates that it is necessary for organisational effectiveness to encourage workers'
abilities &talents. The major implications of this theory have been used at ASDA, as seen below:
Opportunities for advancement: This is the most important aspect of working. Creating
opportunity for people to improve their capabilities
Access to information: This is also a good working practise since it empowers people to
continuously improve. Professionals will complete tasks without even any delays or
errors if all pertinent information is provided to them. Employees at ASDA operate in a
hierarchical structure, which has an impact on the important development activity of
performing by order to make them feel appreciated.
Access to support: Employees gain confidence &operate with a clear mentality in the
organisation when they are given assistance. It's a fantastic approach to empower
someone by encouraging them during their highs &lows.
Conflict Management:
Conflicts are one of the leading causes of employee demonization &discontent in the workplace.
It occurs when employees are under a lot of stress, there is poor team collaboration, there is

internal politics, there is poor management, although there is a communication breakdown. Are
perhaps the most important influences for creating a conflict scenario in the workplace. Because
ASDA is such a large grocery chain, disagreements were a commonplace for me while working
there. It suggests that the business must reduce undesirable effects while also bringing good
improvements. As a result, the organisation must have efficient workplace management
strategies &procedures. This might be accomplished by employing the following related theory:
Human relation theory
According to this view, managers should concentrate on developing relationships with corporate
personnel. ASDA's executives determined that disagreement is a normal occurrence that occurs
between a group of people. The question is how to resolve it. As a result, maintaining excellent
relationships will foster mutual understanding (Pratoom, 2018).
Avoiding - It is necessary to prevent certain conflicts at work that are irrelevant
&develop a negative surrounding.
Compromise - In the event of a confrontation, concessions are sometimes necessary. It
demonstrates that each team must consent on a reciprocated approach to fix the interests
of both parties.
Team effectiveness:
The performance of an organization is determined by how well a team works together &how
hard they work. The goal will be easier to fulfil when staff collaborate &assist one another
(Black, Gardner, Pierce, &Steers, 2019). As a result, it has been determined that ASDA
eliminates an intentional atmosphere in which individuals can collaborate &learn the other's
strengths.
Tuck man theory:
12
Document Page
Forming stage: At this point, the teams are merged &introduced to one another. ASDA's
management ensure that workers from all backgrounds, with varying talents &
backgrounds, establish a team to operate more efficiently (Shaheen and Hameed, 2020).
Storming stage: - At this point, the employees are more willing to have disagreements
&disputes as a result of their differing viewpoints &perceptions. ASDA's managers
concentrate on important development initiatives pertaining to personal growth & team
building.
Norming stage: - This level demonstrates the team's maturation. They begin
coordinating their efforts.
Performing stage: - This stage necessitates a high degree of team performance,
ultimately leads to the achievement of the goals (Soliku and Schraml, 2018).
Adjourning stage: This is the final stage, during which the company will be split off &a
new project will be started.
CONCLUSION
According to the paper, leaders &managers are important activities that aid in the development
of transferrable abilities in individuals. It might be accomplished by examining successful
leadership strategies, as detailed in the paper. Many transferrable talents have been found that
may be improved by thinking strategically.
