INTRODUCTION
The report aims to analyses the importance and approaches of personal and
professional development. Personal and professional development are necessary for every
individual in order to achieve goals and objectives in both academic and professional life.
Learning is a continuous process which leads to encourage an individual to enhance skills
and talent which will be helpful learn some transferable and essential skills during academic
studies (Howard, and Eddy Imishue, 2020). This report is going to provide discussion on
personal learning and development and identification of transferable skills. It will be done
through creating learning log, action plan and a CV.
1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development,
and the transferable skills
Personal learning and development are the key activities to enable self growth and
development. It give rise to learning and observing self potential to cope up with life
challenges related to career and growth.
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal
learning and development
Personal learning is the key aspect in every individual life. It has important
role in learning skills and talent which is useful for attaining success. Learning never gets
stop for an individual as it is the best way to attain growth in various fields of life. Therefore,
it is a crucial part which goes throughout the lifespan of individual. The important approach
towards learning and development is self study and analyzing own strength and
weaknesses.
It helps in analyzing the major areas which require improvements and focus.
Therefore, I indulge in learning through preparing self notes, time table and using Swot
analysis. This is the best approach for enhancing own skills set and get it done through
focusing on own self. Swot analysis helps in identifying what are the key skills I could use as
opportunities to overcome with my weakness (Hildebrand, 2018). I use another approach of
learning and development through setting goals and objectives which will show me a clear
path where I need to move. Learn from failure is also essential which will helps in improving
past mistakes that would not be repeat in future. This approach helps me to get rid of issues
and problems which I face in my academic life. Self learning and development makes me
confident and ready to face any challenges and task in my academic life. By setting
objectives and conducting Swot analysis, I empowered myself by using the strong points and
eliminate weaknesses. Also, I have identified that keeping myself indulge with the classroom
activities and focus on lecture is much essential to learn deep concepts about topics which
will help me to complete my academic presentation and assessments. These personal
learning and development approaches are useful for me to focus on my self development of
some skills such as communication, decision making, reading and writing, research and
many others. These skills will prepare me for development in future to present myself as a
confident and effective personality.

1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed
by attending this module
Transferable skills are those which could be use for multi activities and roles. A
person needs to be transferable roles so that, they could be multitasking and easily carry
out work practices to achieve goals and objectives. Some of these skills are communication,
time management, creative skills and many more. In current business world, organization
are looking for those individuals who have that much potential to performed multi roles and
be an inspiration for others. This could be done through developing transferable skills
(Мorozova, and Kuzheleva, 2020). Through working on the modules and assignments, I
have learned some necessary skills like decision making, problem solving, communicating
and team building. My communication skills are enhanced through taking part in lectures,
speeches and debates in universities and classrooms. This has developed my way of
interaction and boost confidence to present my thoughts and grab audience attention. I
have developed problems solving skills through taking parts in administration and
management practices whenever there is any events or pregames take place. I worked as
volunteer in my college to look for managing programs and campaigns, this has made me
able to give creative solution of problems.
1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies,
personal life and the workplace
There are various skills which are necessary for my academic as well as
professional life. I want to develop these skills to be confident and achieve my
passion. Firstly, I would like to learn report writing and research skills which could be
done through engaging more in projects. I need to learn communication skills and
time management to effectively get indulge with personal interaction and provide
ideas in effective manner. Time management is require to carry out all the prioritize
activities to not miss deadlines (Mitina, and Mitin, 2020). These skills will help me to
establish my professional aims and apply in reputed organization. Also, during my
academic life, I need to more work on technical skills which are more crucial in
modern professional workplace. These skills include knowledge of software, work
with digital tools and work in quick and easy manner. The university provides many
activities to promote learning and development for the students.
