INTRODUCTION The applicationof personal developmentplan isconsidered as a major approach which is helpful in increasing competitive strength of an individual(Sergeeva, 2019). It is essential for a person in academic life to focus on development of personal development plan in order to gain competitive advantage. The professional development is considered as a major approach which helps an individual to develop effectiveness in different operations. In this report value of personal and professional development plan is explained in a precise manner. This project also includes explanation of short, medium and long term goals in order to make a student more dynamic in life.
TASK 1 A description of personal development and professional development Personal development is related to development of self by using a focused approach whichisbeneficialforincreasingthecompetitivestrength.Theconceptofprofessional development means, enhancement of career related aspects of an individual. In the recent times, importance of personal and professional development is increasing due to focused practices and approaches in academic life(Trorey, and Cullingford, 2017). The personal development should be facilitated by teachers and professors in academic life for dynamic personal development of a student. In order to develop professional development in career related life, it is crucial for a candidate to focus on development of management skills. An explanation of short term goals and their values with 3 examples The short term goals are prepared for a short time period and include less efforts of an individual. An individual develops short-term goals and objectives with the help of professors and teachers. The short term goals are also important for a candidate in order to develop different skills which are required in academic life. The examples of 3 short-term goals are given below: Development of time management skills Focus on personality development. Gain knowledge related to management An explanation of medium term goals and their values along with 3 personal examples The value of medium goals is immense for an individual who is studying in the academics. The medium term goals helps a person to focus more on moderate techniques and tools of development(Vetere, and Stratton, 2016). The medium term goals are generally determined for the time period of 4 to 6 months. They play a major role in developing competitive strength of a person along with increasing reputation and good will. The 3 examples of medium term goals are mentioned below: Leadership skills development Critical thinking skills development Communication skills enhancement.
