INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is an essential planning that is needed to be
done by the individual. It helps the individual in gaining knowledge about the skills
that are required to be obtained by them (Díaz Gómez, 2020). Personal
development plan helps the individual in setting goals and aims and make sure that
the individual is moving towards those goals and objectives. In this report, personal
development plan as well as personal goals are given.
Task One:
Definition of the concept of personal and professional development
The concept of professional and personal development is emerged in order to
enable the individual in making sure that they are developing necessary skills which
can help them in the near future or help them in moving towards the goals and
objectives of the individual (Enderby and et. al., , 2021). It will help the individual in
developing a correct skill set which are essential for their success and will also help
them in dealing with the challenges.
Description and discussion of the value of short term goals
identifying at least 3 personal examples
Short term goals are the one that are needed to be fulfilled within the time
stamp of maximum six month. They are goals that serves as small stepping stones
in the career path of the individual towards the long term goals. Short term goals will
help the individual in developing skills that are basic and does not require heavy
planning (Fallast and Vorbach, 2019). According to me, my short term goals are
essential for my overall development which is the reason why I like to keep them
simple and make sure that my motivation is appropriate throughout the process. My
three short term goals are as follows:
the first skill i want to develop is my communication skills.
The second skill which I want to develop is to improve my work life balance
the third skill that I want to improve is my reading skills.

These types of goals are the one that requires more time duration than short
term goals and less time duration then log term goals. These are the bigger stepping
stones in the path of individual towards long term goals (Mirabelli, and Hextrum,
2018) . While setting short term goals the individual must keep in mind the long term
goals that they want to achieve. According to me, my medium term goals are the one
that helps me in building my skills set that are essential for me in my professional
work life. These are the soft skills that help me in coping with my work environment.
My first skill that I want to improve is my leadership skills.
My second skill that I want to develop is my work ethics
the third skill that I want to achieve is my adaptability skills.

The long term goals are the one that are the ultimate goals of the individual.
They are the goal that are generally for a time period of five years or more and has a
great significance in the lives of the individual (Rescorla, Adams and Ivanova, 2020)
. According to me, my long term goals are the one that helped me in making sure
that I am continuously moving towards my goals and also help in being motivated
throughout the process. Some of my long term goals are given below:
First I want to complete my graduation
Second I want to have a job in MNC
Third I want to become an expert in at least two languages.

Personal development plans is a set of activity that helps the individual in
making sure that they are continuously moving towards their goals and objectives
and keep them motivated which helps them in achieving their goals. It is important
for the individual to have a plan as it will help the individual in developing a skill set
which can be very beneficial for their personal as well as professional life.

From the above report it is concluded that personal development plans are an
important factor that helps the individual in making sure that they are on the right
