INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is defined as the plan that is used by an individual to
assess their own skills and abilities as well as consider life aims and determined goals with the
objective of maximise their potentials (Albrecht, Moscardo and Dwyer, 2022). It is related to
assess and learn new skills as well as develop own individual quality that help to attain defined
personal and professional goals and objectives of life. In this report various skills are explained
that are important to accomplish defined objectives and Gibbs reflective cycle is used to
explained personal experience. Along with that personal and professional development plan to
improve specific skill that help in future are mentioned in this report.
MAIN BODY
Gibbs Model reflection:
Gibbs model is one of reflective model that was introduced in the year 1988 by Graham Gibbs
that provide structure of learning from experience. It is a framework that allow a person to
examine experience and learn and plan from things which went well or not well (Lahiri,
Lucarotti and Gortney, 2021). It consists mainly six stages like description, action plan,
evaluation, conclusion, analysis, feeling and others. It is a model that provide good basis to work
through experience. It is a standalone experience as well as situation through which a person
goes through in order to collaborate with team. Explanation of different stages in my experience
of attending universities that assist me to development of various employability as well as study
skills are mentioned below:
Description: I take admission in University in order to improve my learning and knowledge and
also to build good career opportunity. In University, I take classes on daily basis that helps me to
learn things (Lim, 2018). In University, I take admission in filed in which I had interest. There
are various students in university with whom I interest and among which some students become
my friends. I also get various assignment assign by teachers to me and completion of this build
good skills in me. In the end, I get good grades in University and also get placed in a well known
company.
Feelings: After taking admission in University I be very excited as I get opportunity to learn new
things and also make new friends but at same time, I also get nervous as I needs to meet new
people. But during the session, I get opportunity to make new friends and also to meet teachers

who provide me support in order to get good grades. I complete new assignment and also taking
active participation in different activities that helps me to learn new things. With completion of
my studies at University, I become confident about my studies.
Evaluation: During my studies, best thing is related to learning as I get opportunity to learn new
thing, develop new skills and also make new friends. Problem I faced during my studies is that
my teacher got angry with me as I get late in submission of one of my projects. Reason behind
this problem is miscommunication. But in the end, I talk with teacher and complete assignment.
Analysis: There are various things which went well at university whereas somethings does not
go well. Things went well as there is free flow of communication among team members due to
which we are able to coordinate with each other (O’Leary and Sheedy, 2021). There are various
things which does not went well as there is confusion occur related to submission of assignment.
I also get support from teachers that is the best things due to which I learn new things.
Conclusion: There are various new things which I learn with completion of assignment, joining
classes. I also developed different skills that is important in order to get career growth and
professional development. On basis of these skills, I am able to handle different situation in
effective manner. Thing that I learn from this period is that I need to reconfirm things that
provide us clarity about completion of work.
Action Plan: If same situation arises in future, I will handle it differently as instead of getting
nervous about submission data, I will work hard in order to complete my work. I also reconfirm
submission data before completing a work. I will also take responsibility of my work that make
me responsible. I will act differently as I have experience of this situation and also developed
required skills for completion of work.
There are various skills developed by me while attending classes at universities and
completing module. These skills include communication skills, research skills, time management
skills, team working and networking skills, problem solving skills. Explanation of these skills is
mentioned below:
Communication skills: It is one of important skills that is required by me in order to complete
my studies in effective manner (Pugh and Broome, 2020). These skills can be oral and written
communication skills that is important for a person in order to get good grades and also for
completion of work on time.

Time management skill: It is a skill that manage time in efficient manner that allow a person to
saves time and also invest it on productive activities. On basis of time management skill, I was
able to compete assignment on time that create good im-pression of me in minds of professors.
Team working and networking skills: It is another important skill that allow me to work in a
team among people who has different skills and capability. It allows me to collaborate with other
people that is important in order to complete group projects (Saleem and Ashiq, 2020).
Networking is another important skills that allow me to work build network with other people
that provide important information and also helps me to get good career opportunity.
Problem solving skill: it is another important skills that allow me to solve various problems
occur in day to day life. For this, I was able to develop creative solution that allow to solve
critical problems occur in life of a person. On basis of this skill, I will be able to solve problems
occur in my personal as well as professional life.
Research skills: it is a skill that allow a person to conduct in-depth analysis in order to get a
information. It allows a person to get right information and improve their knowledge that is
important for developing good career opportunity.
Personal and professional development plan
Personal development plan is defined as the process of creating a specific action plan based
on awareness, values, goal-setting and planning for personal development (Salter and Rhodes,
2018). It helps to improve specific skill that are important to attain determined goals and
objectives related to personal and professional career.
