INTRODUCTIONPersonal and professional development refer as to gain knowledge and skill forpersonal and career development. It is inclusive of possible learning opportunities,meetings and continuous learning process. Professional development is useful tool toexplore the knowledge so that career advancement of an individual can be possible. Inthis, personal development is relates to skill of an individual with help of it professionaland personal development of an individual can be enhanced.The present report is covering the activities of Travelodge hotel, It is privatecompany and operating in hotels. In this, it can be said that personal and professionaldevelopment will be helpful to improvise the operation activities of an enterprise. This isone of effective process in terms to maintain brand image of the enterprise. In addition tothis, report will be inclusive of process as are self managed learning activities, process,personal and professional development plan and current skill in term to meet theprofessional standards so that things can be done effectively. To full fill the objective ofthe enterprise the enterprise need to done effectively.TASK 11.1 Approaches for self managed learningContinuous and regular personality and skill development is necessary to remainattentive towards achieving success in achieving goals. Self managed learningencourages individuals to learn different skills for by self motivation which are not onlybeneficial for organization but also for individual as well. The staff members ofTravelodge hotel can use following approaches for promoting self managed learning:Visionary approach:When employees of Travelodge hotel identify the currenttrends and future requirements of organisation and their personal development inorder to achieve future goals more easily and effectively then it encourages themto implement self development practices. Visionary approaches makes employeesof Travelodge hotel more flexible so when they observe some skills they tend tolearn it through self management (Cunningham, 2017).For instance certain skills1
like greeting customers, handling the situations where customers are not satisfiedwith the quality of services can be learned only by visionary approaches.Social networking and internet:This can be the best practice for Travelodgehotel employees to develop self managed learning. The staff members can gainknowledge from internet about the effective strategies which are followed bytheir competitive and more successful industries.The social media and internetgives me an opportunity so that I can interact with customers all over the world. Itallows me to analyse that what position does organisation held among customers.Such ability of detailed comparison of performance cannot be learned withoutnetworking tools.The regular interaction and experience sharing on socialnetworking site will help employees to enhance their experience and knowledge.They can use this knowledge to build new and more advance personal skills.Opportunistic approach:The staff members of organisation must always use thisapproach because this tool for self managed learning is easily available regularly.They must gain motivation and learning from other team members andindividuals.When organisation provides us opportunities like to represent athigher platforms and to solve the complex issues related to customer servicesthen I feel really confident and every opportunity teaches me skill to handle risksand complex situations.Every individual has certain skills and knowledge so bylearning from every opportunity self managed learning can be achieved easily.Personality and skills development seminars:The Travelodge hotel can conductconferences and seminars. These interaction sessions will provide employees aplatform to share and learn skills and experience from their fellow team membersin a more professional way. Staff members get self motivation by such seminarsto develop new skills (Bennett, 2017).My communication skills and confidenceare the results of such development seminars only. These seminars allow me toexplore platform for presenting my ideas and views and to discuss them with myother colleagues.1.2 Methods to encourage lifelong professional and personal learningManager of Travelodge hotel can apply following methods so that self managedlearning in context of personal and professional skills can be encouraged for long term.2
