INTRODUCTION
Each professional and personal require the proper skills and abilities to perform the
different function in a proper manner and develop their future in the context of the help other.
The personal and professional development help the individual to identify the areas in which
they are lacking their skills and adopt the different skills and method for the development
(Munn-Giddings and Winter, 2013). This report discuss about the different aspects at St James
Hospital London for which the professional is responsible to develop their skills in the field of
health and social care. The professional must assure that they are adopting the proper measure to
develop the skills, attitude and the behaviour to satisfy the needs of the clients and their family
members. Proper assessment is being done which ensure an effective monitoring as per the
requirement of the medical practitioner to attain the short, medium and the long term goals. This
report discuss about the contribution which is made by the professional in an effective manner to
others in maintaining the health and social care. Proper analysis is being done in order to
minimize the barriers and improve the collective effectiveness of a team.
TASK 1
1.1Comparision of personal values & principles with principles of support for working in HSC
Principle value and support are the crucial aspect which help the individual in attaining
the proper performance in the health and social care. These are the essential aspects which
determine that the individual need proper skills to communicate with the clients in a proper
manner (Pashler and et.al, 2008). The work system is very supportive at St James Hospital as
they perform the work with the adoption of the ethics as per the beliefs and the preferences of the
personal.
The principle of support are based on the aspect of the care in order to help and assist
others. The aim of these principle is to support and provide the equal rights in order to take care
of the individuals which are treated by them. It also help in promoting the diversify resources by
maintaining the positive behaviour (Donati and Watts, 2005). With this principle proper trust and
confidence is develop that protect the service users from the harms and harassment. This
principle helps in promoting the independence of the service users.
As both the principle are interrelated which created an influence on the health and the
social care in order to meet the needs of the clients in a proper manner.

1.2 Assessment of the personal culture & experience which influences own role in supporting
other in HSC settings
The culture, value and experience of the personal influences to the greater extent in order
to support the individual. At St James Hospital the role are assigned as per their skills and
abilities which help in supporting the work setting as well as the behaviour regarding the services
rendering. According to Guskey and Yoon (2009) Culture is the system which involves
knowledge that is shared by the different people of the group and experience is the familiarity of
the personal towards the skills and the knowledge that is acquired over the month. There is the
greater influence of the different factors which are as discussed below:
Family: This factor is influenced to the greater extend as in this field the values and the
bonding is very important that help providing the proper services with the help of the
assistants and the nurses to take care of the patients. This factor affect the functioning to a
certain extend as people get attached easily.
Beliefs: Each personal have certain beliefs and need to be respected and influences the
work culture of St James Hospital but it also affect the services as they have to respect
the values and beliefs of others and ensure to maintain the dignity in order to provide the
services.
Education: People have the sufficient knowledge of the different perspective but it
influences as they are lack in understanding in a proper manner that affect the working as
they are not able to provide the effective services (Webster-Wright, 2009).
Gender: The gender discrimination and the rejection is influencing the overall working at
St James hospital as services users are not able to render a proper services to the patients.
This affect the working framework as there are different aspects which are criticized and
result in poor services.
1.3 Impact of the new development & changes to personal values in HSC
The personal values and ethics have a greater impact over the performance of the health care
practitioner in the health and social care industry. The effective and the working patterns are
influenced by the changes which occur in the work environment. In addition the new
development and the changes include the different perspective in order to carry out different
process (Stoll and et.al, 2006). There are different types of legislations and policies which are
