INTRODUCTION
The personal reflection simple means to give thought on one's character and actions. This means
to think and evaluate skills in order to improve them. The report below will be addressing
personal reflection. Communication skill, research skill, Use of ICT,s are some skill that are used
while writing personal reflection below. The reflection is based on Gibbs's Model of Reflection.
MAIN BODY
Communication skill- verbal and written-
Communication skills are one of the skill that I have learned while studding In this university.
Being introvert I was never able to interact with anyone around me. There were times I was all
alone in university with no friends and no family (Kyaw and et.al., 2019).
Description- Being introvert I was never able to connect with anyone that was around me as lack
of confidence in me as I was never able to communicate. Not only this I was even not interested
in listening. As we say that communication is two side process it becomes difficult to interact.
(Al-Sheikhly, Östlundh and Arayssi, 2020)
Feelings- The feeling was miserable as I am far away from my family, I started founding myself
all alone even though I was surrounded by many individuals. The lack of communication was
also because of my experiences as I earlier was more into answering than actually listening to the
answer of an individual and because of this reason there were times I made fool out of myself.
Evaluation- I obviously knew that without communication I won't be able to make friends and
that won't work for me as the journey of university is not only of a year.
Analysis- I started communicating with some classmates But this time I was more into listening
rather than just saying something or other thing,
Conclusion- proper communication from both the side help me to made friends for lifetime.
Action Plan- I get engage into group activities and other competitions that are related with
communication in order to raise my confidence.

Research skill-
Research skill is also very important skill. The different group assignment and group activities
made me to raise my research skill (Huy and Thuy, 2021).
Description- Although, I was always curious to search different topics and different things but
still research skills of mine increased after coming into the university.
Feelings- Research skill of mine increased after doing different task and assignment. The
assignment that are given to me on time to time basis has definitely increased my curiousness to
search about different topics. Research skill is that skill which does not stay with you till the time
of university but instead this skill is required in every job and every sector that you work in.
Evaluation- In the first assignment of mine In the university, I was not able to perform and get
good marks as I limited myself to the research and totally got dependent on the teachers and their
notes, as a student I should have researched in order to get good marks but as I said I restricted
myself and that was the one incident that generated that drive in me to research for different
topics and different assignments as it make you feel lot at times when you don't get good marks.
(Rodríguez and et.al., 2019).
Analysis- Now that I am always curious to find and search different topics by different authors.
The need of asking questions in my class have also increased because there are times when
different author say different things and I get confused. The quality of homework I am providing
to the teachers are the reason behind the appreciation they give me at different times. That also
motivates me to search more regrading different things.
Conclusion- I found myself in happy place as I am gaining good marks with appreciation not
only from the teachers but instead my classmates appreciates me as well.
Action Plan- The research skill in me has definitely increased my confidence level in every
activity that I do as researches make sure that task has been proved with good quality.
The use of ICT's -
Information and communication technology is very important to enable modern computing. I
never used this technology before in my life but after coming to the university I realized the

importance of using it support, enhances, and also optimize the information delivery system. It
also improves learning process and offer better teaching methods in system of education
(Fernández-Gutiérrez, Gimenez and Calero, 2020).
Description- I always wanted to use this technology of information and communication but
sitting at home did not help me to initiate the process of using. University has different kind of
tools to manage and pass information that enables me to use such techniques in order to complete
my assignments and task o timely basis.
Feelings- Though, I was very less of aware of use of ICT in starting days of my university. But
with the passing time I realized its importance that help me to integrate it into lessons to work
efficiently. This also makes activities fun and enjoyable at the same time. The teaching style by
using this technology has been different in different ways in order to teach students with
entertainment.
Evaluation- Now that I know the use of ICT is very important, I try to inculcate it more into the
activities and work that I do in university. It also helps me to understand all the lectures easily
while in class as it create every activity joyful.
Analysis- The activities that I did with use of ICT enabled the process of enjoying while learning
in class.
Conclusion- The importance and use of ICT that I learned in school not only helped me to
perform better in university but this is very important thing for performing in job as well.
Action Plan- I want to use ICT more often in order to perform better in class every time I get an
assignment.
Team work and Networking-
This module helped me to built my team work skill that will contribute me to achieve the
employability in the future (Pavlenko and Pavlenko, 2021). Working with various groups during
group assignment has increased my ability to work with different teams.
Description- Team work has never been easy for me as it need high level of communication
with other group members. Being introvert I was always centred around this problem and it took
me years to finally indulge during the activities and projects that are in groups.

Feelings- During initial days of university, I was very afraid to work in team related activities
and that panic and nervousness was clear visible on my face. I was even afraid to talk in class
with other activities as networking in not my thing and I have always been single doing my all
assignments alone.
Evaluation- There was a time my marks were decreasing because of my inability to perform in
group tasks that made me feel law but group members encouraged me to open up that help me to
imitate and purpose my views as well. Initially it was hard but with passing time I started putting
my points as well. There was time my idea proved to be unique, and we won in that particular
activity as well (de Prada Creo, Mareque and Portela-Pino, 2020).
Analysis- other members of my team were quite supportive, they were the one who helped me to
come out of that shy zone that encouraged me to communicate my points as well. Lack of
confidence was the major thing that reduced my chance of taking any initiatives.
Conclusion- It is important to work in team as team members not only helps you to perform
particular activity but instead they are the ones who will be increasing your knowledge.
Action Plan- Now that I am comfortable in performing in team task. I want to work more in
such activities that are group related in order to increase my knowledge.
Time and self management-
The university has increased the role of time in my life as I was always late in almost all the task
(Ahmad and et.al., 2020). Time management does not only impact the life of an individual in
university instead it remains with you till your entire life. University has increased my time
management skill.
Description- Leaving alone in hostel and managing all my activities by myself was one of the
most difficult face was my life. I was late in almost all the task that I did in that period of life that
even decreased my self-confidence. As self-confidence is necessary for every task of life I was
lacking in it.
Feelings- The lack of management skills increased my anxiety level during the initial days of the
university. There was time in initial days of my university where my teachers and professors
even started questioning me that whether am serious with my studies or not. Not matter what I

was trying I was not able to focus on studding as well as performing any of the activities that
were specially designed for the students to promote their creativity.
Evaluation- Being in top university there is constant pressure on students to perform every task
altogether. It took me time to analyse and digest that as I was new to all these things. Family,
friends and other close people were at distance and that was one more thing that increased me
nervousness to manage time. Understanding importance of time was a slow process but with the
help of friends and teacher I develop this skill in me (Razali and et.al., 2018).
Analysis- Time management is an important skill. As I have already learned this now I can say
that without it is almost impossible to survive in future jobs as well.
Conclusions- After learning management of time, completed my task on time and submitted my
assignments sometimes before on time as well.
Action Plan- I want to inculcate this time management skill in me till my entire life in order to
perform all the task on time.
Problem solving skills-
Problem solving skill is another skill that I learnt during studding in university and this skill will
be going to solve my career problems as well (Khoiriyah and Husamah, 2018).
Description- Problem solving is one such skill that is related with the solving issues that
frequently occurs in one or other part of life. As a student I was always afraid of problems
because focus was more on problems than solving them.
Feelings- Being surrounded by one or other problems of my life, I was always annoyed and
never wanted to perform any task. This was quite difficult for me to form an positive approach to
whatever problems that comes in my life. It was difficult to form such a mindset that thinks
positive in negative situations as well.
Evaluation- With the passing time I started being with friends that radiates positive vibe to solve
every problem that comes in way of your direction. This took me time to understand that every
problem has some or other solution. It just who make every problem an bigger issue instead of
solving that issue (Fitriani and et.al., 2020).

Analysis- Finally, now I am in condition where I can say that I have ben able to create that
mindset who tries to think positive and solve problems that keep occurring in different phases of
life.
Conclusion- Problem solving skill is the major skill that one should have in every phase of life
as there will be no phase without any problem.
Action Plan- doing major assignments has enhanced my skill of problem solving and it is going
to increase it further in my life.
CONCLUSION-
The report above address the personal reflective journal that has been discussed how this module
and the university at general level has contributed to the achievement of the skills. The skills that
has been addressed as the communication skills, research skills, use of Ice, teamwork, time
management and the problem solving skills. Personal reflective journal has used the Gibbs
Reflective Cycle.
