In turbulent social and economic climate, business acts as a factor of core importance.
This is because it acts as the crucial in our lives and acts as the working catalyst of the
innovation. This is the reason for my inclination towards the study since undergraduate level in
spite of being a Spanish and English not being my first language. I believe that pursuing a
master’s degree is my responsibility that I owe towards myself and the commitment that I
possess towards the others. I consider it as the responsibility due to my proactive outlook
towards life that encourages me in actively seeking and going after things that I wanted to
accomplish within the lifetime. Besides, I refer to it as the commitment since I wanted to act as
an example to the others for my contribution and attainments towards the society.
My interest for studying business became evident at an early age. At an early age of
thirteen I tried to establish a jewelry business with my friend. Although the venture lasted for a
short while but it taught me to deal with the day to day obstacles encountered by the firm. My
enthusiasm was further stroked, my leadership qualities demonstrated and my creative
communication and problem solving skills further enhanced after I participated in the Young
Entrepreneur and Young Enterprise projects
In addition to this what appealed me the most has been my passions for people. I believed
that humans have been sole resource and effective management of the employees can help a firm
in reaching full potential. I believe that there is no point investing millions in the extension
strategies for market and product development if it lacked motivation. My initial introduction to
the human resource management was due to the result of the encounter with the General
Manager (GM) human resource of a reputed bank. This encounter helped me in having a detailed
understanding of roles portrayed by the human resource in dealing with the human issues and
thereby contributing to the organizational success. My second encounter with human resource

has been my work experience placement in department store where I gained an experience of
working at the human resource (HR) department and my responsibilities included providing
assistance to the customers, phone handling and the act as a helping hand in the selection and the
recruitment process. I not only had a realistic view of the HR department but also understood the
techniques that led to the improvement in the efficiency of workers. During the placement
process, I attained some experience with the marketing department which not only included huge
chunks of proof reading but discussions related to advertising. This helped me in showing
initiative while formulating ideas and displaying my creative ability. The experience in
marketing department helped me in understanding the importance of language in understanding
and how phrased promotions can aid in stimulating demand. Previously, I also have gathered
work experience as local estate agent where my focus has primarily revolved around the sales. I
enjoyed the placement since the property market with the area has been of immense interest for
me. Presently, I also work as an accounts assistant in the local media company that primarily
involved controlling the expenditure spreadsheets, controlling sales and handling of queries and
receipts. Thus, one of the key reasons for me in studying business lies in the fact that it is a
constantly evolving and exciting industry where nothing remains constant. I also take immense
pleasure in reading independent sections related to finance and thoroughly enjoyed Charles
Handy’s Understanding Organizations. It also provided me with the theoretical explanations of
running a sustainable and successful business. Besides, his explanation for motivation towards
work pointed towards more complex structure than the desire for earning money.
In the purview of this, I decided in taking up the foundation degree and HR since I am
more interested in the role it played in achievement of the organizational objectives and goals.

The important amongst them has been learning how to train and hire best employees along and
the performance issues.
I began my journey at the university with not much knowledge being a Spanish adult.
Considering the fact that I left my college close to over twenty years ago and English not being
my first language, it was a challenging experience for me to start with the Foundation degree and
HR. However, I gradually progressed and knowing the fact that I am in the final year of doing
the project have looked forward in getting an experience in the Business Management and HR. I
further plan to do the master degree and constantly progress.
Nevertheless, my greatest attributes lies in being smart, inquisitive and hardworking. I
possess the willingness in learning and appreciate each opportunity in learning newer things or
the older ones differently. I am not only sensitive but am also genuinely interested in the others
that makes provides me with a confidence that HR reflects the path in which I would like to
proceed. I also believed that human resource is crucial for organizations since an organization
would fail to function without the people.
My goal lies in working with one of the leading firms that placed priority on the
professionalism and led the organization towards the attainment of the set goals through the use
of knowledge and experience. Ten years down the line, I would like to see myself as the human
resource consultant who provided professional advice to help others in making the best
decisions. Therefore, I believe that pursuing a master degree in Business Management and HR
can help in fulfilling my dream as it fits the profile of the goal.
I have chosen the concerned university as it has great reputation in terms of academic
excellence, flexible schemes for post graduation and better industry links. I also look forward in

being part of the renowned institution and believe that the right kind of educations in right school
will help in opening the doors of advancement in the fields of my chosen study.
