1. Reason behind choosing to study at University of Roehampton
I have chosen this particular University of Roehampton after proper research and have
received many positive remarks about the same. Herein, I have initially gone through the official
website of this university and came across to one of its very interesting pages on Student Life. I
also got to know about the wide ranging opportunities provided by this university to its students.
On comparing the acquired information with that to other universities, I found it that this one is
very assistive in encouraging their students to participate in several extra-curricular activities.
This was something quite different and optimistic in comparison to other similar universities
where they are mostly known to focus on a single aspect of study, with less understanding for
engaging students through other means.
2. Purpose of selecting this course
I have chosen this specific course of business management on considering my personal
interests. It is with a special reference to my future career plans where I aspire to become a
successful business person. Also, the modules that will be taught in this course has captivated me
to a great extent. It together relates to some of my previously studied subjects, i.e. in Bachelors
of commerce. Beside this, I have found it to be very useful in terms of provisioning such
effective skills to individuals, by which, they can intend to start up their own business and
successfully run it on their own.
3. Plans after finishing this course and relation of this course with that to my future career plans
Once after finishing this course, I am also intending to start up my own business and
before it, I want to get equipped with all entrepreneurial skills. My future plan is to possess a
business that has some creative approach for serving the clients. For this, all 4 modules of this
course is designed very effectively to generate the skills for driving invention in the individuals
by making them adaptive towards any requisite change.
4. Gaps between previous study commitments and work, including other activities I have been
involved with
Yes, there has been a huge gap in my previous study as well as work related commitments
where I am also working as a security guard, right now. This depicts a gap of almost 7 years,

after which I am once again intending to start my study. I had completed my Bachelor’s degree
in commerce in 2011. However, this is the best time for me to undertake this course, as I have
decided to leave my current job. Also, it will help me to achieve the ambition of operating my
own business and for which, I am ought to continue my studies and enrol in the chosen course of
4 years extended business management.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
This is to state about the chosen course of 4 years extended business management and its
proposed module, where the components of the foundation year is referred to be the most
favourable one for me. It is basically to enhance my elementary knowledge about
entrepreneurship and the ways of successfully handling a business and achieve its set goals and
objectives. This is on referring to some of its specific sections of English academic skills 1 & 2
that will help me improve my theoretical base of English. Also, another unit of business
introduction is apparent to enlighten me about the basics of starting up a new business and run it
effectively for the future.
Likewise, another element of mathematical functional skills is essential in handling the
fiscal considerations for my business. Lastly, the constituent of extended project is expected to
help me in effective management of business related projects. I am keen to take admission in the
University of Roehampton and get registered for their 4 years of extended business management
course. I believed to be a quick learner who also considers in improving existing proficiencies to
continually progress in life and I am thus assure of delimiting this gap that existed between my
study and work. I thereby request you to give me an opportunity of being a part of such leading
university of UK.
