1. Why have you selected this course? What are your motivating factors?
While I was doing my summer internship as financial analyst at Aman Bank in Libya, I have
realized that, if I want to become a well-known profession in this field, I have to sharpen my
knowledge and enhance my skills in finance. Therefore, I decided to do masters in finance, and
according to the financial times ranking as WBS ranked the 9th in the world. I chose it as the
most appropriate way to reach my desire; however, that was not the only reason. The second
significant reason is that the core 4 modules which will be learnt in the first term. These modules
provided by the Warwick University, will not just give me a solid foundation about the finance
industry but they will also assist me to understand how the finance theories can be applied to
analyze and improve the investment and financing decisions of an entity.
2. What are your areas of interest within the course?
The opportunity to specialize via the elective modules provided by the Warwick University has
awarded me a major interest in the course. There are several areas that really attract me in this
course. I believe that the compulsory modules cover the specific areas in the modern finance
and the optional module provides a vast array of opportunities in the finance market. During my
internship in the Aman bank I have already experienced the use of various software in solving
out the algorithms related to finance. The corporate finance modules will help me with the
knowledge how the basis techniques of modern finance can be used to analyze the financial

decision of a company. The hand- on lab experience would definitely help me out to deal with
realistic stimulations. The opportunity provided by the Warwick University, to do an 8000 word
dissertation will help me to develop the key theories and various economic models. It will help
me to allow all knowledge that I have gained through my course of study. The classes will
enhance my skills of solving the financial problems and analyze the case studies.
3. What contributions do you feel you can make to the course?
Having worked in the Aman bank I have gained a bit mastery over the banking focused
knowledge of finance which I believe will help me to flourish in the banking sector and will also
help me to deal with the theoretical modules and the practical applications in this field. I believe
that I will be able to contribute to the class discussions and share my ideas with the peers and the
teachers on the basis of the knowledge that I have gained during my experience. The bank where
I had been an intern provided me with an opportunity to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere.
This will help me in my classroom interaction with a diverse group of people and will also help
me to work enthusiastically in group projects and presentations, which is one of the fundamental
parts of this course.
4. How do you see the program affecting your career plans?
Having a master of finance in the Warwick University will actually help me to stand out as it will
actually teach me about the fundamentals of finance and will provide a depth in the
understanding of the financial markets, corporate finance and the asset pricing. The courses
offered by the Warwick University will actually provide with the opportunities to interact with
people having security experiences. A master in finance will actually help me to get hold of the
actual theoretical models and the practical application of those models, which appears to be the

preferred route for the banks for hiring the graduates. The modules will help me to flourish in the
banking career in the future.
The ' quantitative Methods in practice' module of the courses offered, will me help to
achieve an in depth knowledge of the probability and the theories of distribution, the
econometric models and the statistical interference and the estimation.
Furthermore, ‘the banks and the financial institution’ module will help to explore the practice
and the theory of banking in the 21st century, specifically the role of different banks as the
providers of liquidity and acting as the intermediaries between the lenders and the borrowers.
A masters in finance from the Warwick university will open up a variety of career options
such as commercial banking, corporate finance, where I will have the opportunity to grow the
business, make acquisitions and will be able to manage any cash on hand. It can also help me out
to be a financial planner or take up career in investment banking. As a financial banker I will be
able to help out the investors to purchase securities, manage the financial assets and provide
valuable financial advice. A master in finance will also help me in real estate fields and will help
me to become a future money manager managing stocks and bonds for the clients.
5. What evidence of research or reading in this area can you show?
I have studied International financial services and financial modeling. It is a section of the
financial economics that have helped me to gain knowledge about the monitory and the
macroeconomic interrelation between the nations. I have gained enough knowledge regarding the
dynamics of the international monetary system, the global financial system, exchange rates and
the balance of payments. It has helped ne to understand the various aspects of the financial trade.
My subscription of ‘Financial times’ and ‘Harvard Business’ review also helps me to remain

updated about the various advancement in the field of finance. I constantly engage myself in the
brain storming about the different financial crisis going around the world and try out to think of
something alternate to this.
