INTRODUCTION
Personal learning is one of those elements that play significant role in career growth of many
individuals. The current study will explain reflective journal, personal development plan and
interview sections.
PART A
Skills developed in 10 weeks and discussion related to each session
Week 1- Module introduction
The concept of academic success and student’s expectations has been discussed that
encompasses key terms, which gain the attention of individual learn toward conducing several
strategic practices (5 Strategies for Academic Success: Using Your Strengths, 2022). This
concept is defined as accomplishment of learning procedures that enable a learner to gain
knowledge regarding varied subjects or specific one, related to which they seek to gain more or
in depth comprehending. Along with this, it also has been discussed that students have certain
expectations that they tend to fulfil and regarding which tutors may aid in effective manner. I
plan to develop skill in regard to academic success in form of considering ethical concept, which
made me capable to conduct ethical practices while studying higher education. I also developed
skill in term of aim setting, which is quite essential for me to develop and beneficial to utilize.
Week 2- The importance of reflection
In this session, significance of reflection was discussed that help to develop
comprehending among individuals regarding how to reflect themselves in form of skills, lacking
areas that they tend to develop and opportunities that they seek to grab in effective manner
(Rosseel and Anseel, 2021). Reflection is important for everyone, as it may provide individual
person, especially learners to develop their competencies and review their key effectiveness in
appropriate manner, which is quite beneficial for them to do that. It may give them chance to
show their capabilities more than just focusing on doing things as they have always done them. I
plan to develop reflective writing skill, in term of considering and utilizing specific model or
theory related to reflection. It is fact that reflection is an essential part of learning procedure,
because it may provide understanding about what an individual attempt to learn that aid to
overcome their weaknesses directly or indirectly.
Week 3- Personal SWOT analysis-

Procedure of reflective own self has been discussed in this session, which is quite
essential for individual person to do that (Safonov, Usov and Arkhipov, 2021). Self-analysis
concept may drive the attention of individual person toward developing understanding about
skills as strengths they have, and areas for further improvement that has been included in list of
key weaknesses. It may enable a person to develop more understanding about own self in term of
strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities that are accessible in the world. They may
utilize each opportunity to deal with threat and weakness. I had plan to develop skills such as
personal or self-reflective writing in term of determining my strengths that I have to present in
front of others and used to grow rapidly. I had also conduct activities that developed my
knowledge about weakness that I have and overcome by using strategic approaches.
Week 4- Academic writing-
In this week, the overall discussion is based on academic writing, which is one of those
strategic concepts that is essential for students to consider and conduct practices accordingly
(Mitchell and et.al., 2021). It is important for students to write any essay or material related to
their study by following academic writing term, because it may make their work presentable,
through which they may obtain high scores. Clear, focussed, concise, backed and structured
format of report are included in list of academic writing nature. I will plan to develop academic
writing skill in term of following process related to that. For instance, I will have step to pre-
write content, research, draft and revise the same thing. Furthermore, I will also edit and proof
read what I wrote, before submission. Careful reading and thinking are the key steps that I also
consider while planning for academic writing.
Week 5- Writing skills
This week cover specific topic and make discussion related to it and that is writing skills.
These competencies play significant role in the context of career progress and success of
individuals (Routon, Marinan and Bontrager, 2021). It is fact that essay and reflective writing is
quite different from each other, as essay writing is all about specify academic material, while
reflective writing is about reflecting own-self. I plan to develop writing skill by taking
suggestion from experience holders or expert, who are capable to write content related to varied
strategic concepts and topics. It is quite important for me to do that because writing skill help to
remember things, observe specific term and collect essential evidences based on certain subjects.

Along with above tactic, I plan to develop similar skill in term of conducting practical writing
exercise, which writing notes.
Week 6- Practice exercises
In this session, it has been discussed that an organization is accountable to conduct
different types practices, which play vital role in their growth and success within any specific
sector. For example, tourism industry organizations conduct practice to build sustainable tourism
strategy that enable them to build positive brand or venture image in the market (Huang and
et.al., 2021). There are varied forms of factors accessible in the world of business, that may put
direct impact on their current and in the future practices. I had plan to develop these skills such
as conducting effective practice, in term of reading case studies, through which I had developed
my understanding in the context of essential and valuable practices that experienced holders has
been conducted to gain desire outcomes. Not just because of gaining competitive advantages, a
firm and their management conduct activities, to deal with major risks that they are facing and
will face further.
Week 7- Introduction to plagiarism and referencing
Plagiarism is defined as process of presenting other’s work or though in term of writing
own, with their consent, by incorporating it into their work without or with full
acknowledgement (Geraldi, 2021). While, referencing refer to formal system of indicating when
a writer’s ideas or words have been utilized in academic writing (Zektzer, Mazurski and Barash,
2021). These two terms are discussed in this week, from which I had learned how to avoid
plagiarism and referencing content that I write down. It is important for me to avoid plagiarism
and find out appropriate evidence in form of references that I will used to obtain desire
outcomes. It can be said that plagiarism happens when a learner submits a project or assignment
that encompasses work which is not their own, without acknowledging their evidences in term of
references.
Week 8- Developing presentation skills
There are different types of subjects encompasses in each week, and discussed in
appropriate manner, which make learners able to understand. In this session, about the concept of
presentation competencies has been discussed. It is one of those skills that play crucial role in
progress and success of a person, whether they are student or employee (6 Key Elements of a
Great Presentation, 2022). The key elements of presentation skills are clear aim, objectives, text,

information about subject and topic. I plan to develop this competence, in term of using internet
and joining training session. It made me capable to design or create a successful presentation, in
which I plan to include key data about a topic for which I had a lot of efforts to write everything.
By developing this skill, I feel confident and able to structure a power point presentation in
effective manner.
Week 9- Interview skill & goal setting
In this week, two different forms of skills have been discussed and these are interview &
aim setting (Lu and et.al., 2021). Interview competence is one of those competencies that permit
individual to be more effective via interview procedure for a new designation. It may boost the
morale and confidence level among individuals, who tend to grow and seek to develop their
skills more than last few weeks or days. Goal setting is another skill that discuss in this session,
which I had plan to develop successfully. I have to consider key approaches and techniques for
purpose of developing these two competencies. For example, I develop aim setting skill in term
of determining and defining my goals that I want to achieve. Furthermore, I have to conduct
practice of interview capability development in form of taking approach to make essential
discussion with experts.
Week 10- Employability skills & competencies/ assessment support
This week include specific discussion based on employability skills a key concept that
generate awareness among individuals about competencies that they have to develop and
improve for purpose of gaining the best employment opportunity (Alharahsheh and Pius, 2021).
These are described as transferable competencies that individual need to make themselves
employable. It can be said that employability relies on knowledge, skills and behaviour of a
candidate, who may utilize these assets to reach desire outcomes. I plan to develop employability
skill in term of engaging myself in those activities that teach me how to become a skilled and
knowledgeable candidate. I will use internet, where images, videos and other resources available
related to each employability skill that I seek to develop.
PART B
Personal learning and development plan
In the world, individual person tends to develop some skills, gain knowledge and improve
their understanding related to certain concepts, for which they may utilize specific accessible

tool, technique or method. For example, personal learning and development plan is one of those
available methods that a person may utilize to obtain desire outcomes such as skills
development, which play vital role related to their personal as well as professional career growth.
Like others, I had taken decision to utilize this plan, which enable me to take pleasure of
developing skills that I want to develop and do not posse good knowledge about each. It can be
said that personal learning & development plan encompasses key elements such as three stages
and these are;
Stage 1- Personal Analysis
It is one of those stages that allow a person to conduct personal learning and development
initiatives in effective manner. Under this stage, I had taken actions to reflect self or personal
analysis, in term of defining skills that I have and areas for further development.
Strengths Areas for further development
Decision making- I am posing good
knowledge about this skill, that made me
capable to take right decision regarding certain
issues and challenges as well as critical
situations. By taking appropriate decision I had
provide desire outcomes to others and also take
pleasure of obtaining the same in effective
manner.
Problem solving- along with above I also have
this skill as well, which put positive impact on
my performance and productivity level. Just
because of using problem solving competence,
I felt and work with confident. It made me
capable to deal with risks or other issues, which
is quite essential for me to do that.
Communication skill- I am able to interact
with others, because of having effective
communication competence, which in turn
ICTs- I want to improve and develop this area
as my weakness, which put negative impact on
my performance and productivity level. As it
is important for anyone to have knowledge
about using advanced technologies, especially
when they relate to marketing field and tend to
enter in that.
Critical thinking- I also want to develop this
skill as well, because without thinking
creatively and critically, I would not be able to
gain desire outcomes and fulfil expectations of
others who will provide me chance to work
within a reputed company.
Presentation skill- it is quite essential for me
to present a presentable presentation, while
performing as skilled candidate in a firm, but I
would not be able to do that. Lack of
presentation skill is one of my weaknesses that

provide desire outcomes to me at the end of
conversation.
Teamwork- Along with above three, I also
have current skill, which make me capable to
work or perform in a team of skilled
candidates, who are conducting efforts to
achieve set aim and objectives. With skill I had
felt able to share my ideas and derive attention
of each candidate toward implementing the
same, which in turn provide expect result to all
of us.

development approaches that are accessible in
this world will enable me to grow. As I can
grab each chance and perform in productive
manner with set of essential competencies.
High data privacy- just because of this factor,
I felt complexities and deal with issues. This
threat put negative impact on initiatives that I
think to take.
Lack of appropriate suggestion- another
threat that negatively impact on my
effectiveness is current one, as I do not have
right suggestion regarding skills development.

 I tend to become a marketing manager and achieve short, long and medium goals.
 I want to build my own house.
PART C- INTERVIEW
While conducting efforts and putting initiatives related to current study, I had developed my
understanding related to personal learning and development plan, which had driven my attention
toward taking actions to grow more rapidly. Just like others, I also have some weaknesses that
put negative impact on my work and effectiveness. In the context of this, I had taken decision to
consider and utilize personal learning & development plan, through which I had developed the
skills that I seek to develop. Each skill I have developed are my weaknesses that bring many
issues when I had attempt to achieve desire outcomes in term of short, long and medium term
goals achievements. The approach that I had utilized, play vital role in progress and success of
individuals, who are facing continuous challenges to grow rapidly. This plan had provided a lot
of benefits to me as I had developed major and essential competencies that help to boost my
confidence level and provide me a strong power to become a productive candidate among many.
I had taken initiative to collect information about tactics and approaches that used to develop
each skill under the PDP. I have analysed that personal development plan encompasses key

advantages in varied forms that drive the attention of individuals or users toward taking pleasure
of improving and developing significant skills.
I want to share information about the effectiveness of this plan related to my career
growth, as it covers certain benefit. For example, personal development plan caters chance to me
about setting clear aim and objective, which I tend to achieve in term of skill development. It is
quite essential for a person to set specific and smart aims, which may enable them to focus on
specific things instead of those that are unnecessary and time consuming. Along with these
advantages, it has provided more benefits to me. For instance, personal development plan aids to
determine strengths that I have and also driven my attention toward considering weaknesses that
I want to overcome via implication of strategic approaches. It helps to generate my awareness
about skills that I tend to develop. It also given chance to improve my performance and
employability which is necessary for everyone to do so, because it put impact negatively upon
their bright future and professional career progress.
Under personal development and learning plan, I had discussed skills that I seek to
develop and also specify approaches that has used to reach expect outcome. Along with these
thing, I had clarified my success criteria and time frame, which I have considered to develop
each skill in effective and systematic manner.
CONCLUSION
From above analysis, it has been summarized that personal development plan has improved
my performance and productivity level. I had achieved my long and short term goals by using
strategic methods.
