Introduction:
This template should be used to record your reflections on the weekly sessions.
Please use the spaces provided to reflect on what was discussed in class, what
you gained from the session; did you find the content useful, how can you relate
it to your studies at university as a business student. You will also need to
discuss how you intend to further develop the skills discussed in class. This is a
continuous process and should be completed during the module and not at the
end.
In week 8 you will be expected to submit what you have completed so far, via
Blackboard, in order to receive feedback. You will then complete weeks 9 and
10 and summatively submit the journal in week 14.
The Weekly Reflective Journal will be used in conjunction with your Personal
Learning and Development Plan and Interview to work out the final grade for
this module. Submission of all parts of the assessment are required in order to
receive a grade.
Week 8
This journal should be formatively submitted for feedback, via Blackboard, at the end of this week.
During the 8th week I am able to learn and understand about the personalised learning where I had
come to acquire the knowledge of presentation skill. In this learning area, I learned that developing
the presentation skill can enable me to grow and develop my skill appropriately. It helps me to
increase my presentation skill which will be very beneficial for me to understand the topics more
clearly and can also create an effective presentation. Presentation is very effective for me as it is
visualized where it helps me to understand the topics from seeing the images and charts. For
improving the presentation skill, I am required to do a practice by speaking in front of others so that
I can be able to convey my speech and can present the appropriate presentation in from of the
people (Steininger, 2018). I am also required to create an eye contact with the audience so that it
will show the confidence in me and enable me to supply the effective presentation in front of the
large number of people. A good personality and a better way of communication is required to be
adopted by me as it will allow me to look passionate and engaged with the audience.
Week 9
In the week 9, I came to understood about the interview and goals setting skill which will be very
beneficial and effective for me in my future growth and development. For the better learning of
interview skill, I am firstly required to understand its aim and objectives as it makes me or an
individual to stay comfort and enables to connect with the needs and requirements accordingly. In
this session, for the development of the interview skill, I am required to be a good listener or an
active listening ability from which it will enable me to listen carefully and can answer the
interviewer questions appropriately. Even, I also required to focus more about the researching skill

from which I can be able to collect and gather the relevant data and information about the
organization from which I can be bale to prepare myself according to the company needs and
expectations (Retnawati, Djidu, and et.al., 2018). Also, I am required to adopt and maintain the
formal communication skill which will ensure me to communicate with the interviewer in a formal
or professional manner so that it will reflect the professionalism of me and puts an reputed image of
me in front of the interviewer.
Week 10
During the week 10th, I learned about the importance of employability skills for the better
future growth and development. Even, I also learned the knowledge about the personal
development planning and its importance which will be very beneficial for the future and
career growth and competencies. The employability skills are important to be understand
as it will clarify the ability and skill which is required to run and maintain the labour
market needs and expectations. For developing this employability skill, I am required to
focus on my own learning so that I can be able to understand the learning and knowledge
areas of my and can improve them accordingly (Suen, Hung, and Lin, 2020). For the better
learning, I am required to learn to search about the job market and vacancies. Looking at
me, I am needed to put the focus on my critical thinking and problem solving skill as it is
important for me as it comes under the employability skill. Maintaining the
professionalism and strong wok ethics is also a part of the employability skill which will
help me in my future career growth and development.
Week 11
In week 11, I learned the areas of the essential skills and abilities which an individual student
needs to adopt and implement for becoming a successful student. For becoming a successful
student, I am required to adopt the various types of skills and activities such as self-motivated,
independent, team working, time management and setting the definite and appropriate goals
which will make me to work hard (Suárez-Barraza, and Miguel-Davila, 2022). Becoming a
successful student required to adopt these kinds of skills which enable me to behave and act
properly in the academic s and can be able to become successful. For improving all these areas,
self-evaluation and personal planning is the important factor where I can be able to increase the
self-awareness in myself and can grow effectively. For becoming a successful person in life, I am
required to overcome my fears and my weak points so that I can be able improve my different
skills and abilities and can learn something new information and knowledge. Even, I am also
required to set up the goals and targets which make me to focus on the aims and can achieve the
goals and targets according to the deadline.
Week 12
During the week 12, I learned and acquired the knowledge of the Kaizen and Pomodoro
techniques and also learned how to implement. The Kaizxen technique is the continuous
improvement session or processes which enable me to grow and develop myself accordingly.
