Personalized Learning: Weekly Reflective Journal

This reflective journal discusses the importance of personalized learning, self-reflection, SWOT analysis, academic writing practices, business presentations, UWL library, and academic integrity. It also includes the skills developed and how they can be applied to future studies.

Introduction:
This template should be used to record your reflections on the weekly sessions.
Please use the spaces provided to reflect on what was discussed in class, what you
gained from the session; did you find the content useful; how can you relate it to your
studies at university as a business student. You will also need to discuss how you
intend to further develop the skills discussed in class. This is a continuous process
and should be completed during the module and not at the end.
In week 8 you will be expected to submit what you have completed so far, via
ULearn, to receive feedback. You will then complete weeks 9 to 10.
The Weekly Reflective Journal will be used in conjunction with your Personal
Learning and Development Plan and Interview to work out the final grade for this
module. The Reflective Journal and PDP will be summatively submitted in week 14
on Blackboard. Submission of all parts of the assessment are required in order to
receive a grade.
Week 1
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you plan to
develop these skills.
During this week, I made a learning regarding the importance of the personalized learning. This
includes the elements such as, critical analysation, open mind, sharing ideas, progressions,
being active and so on. The topic related to the business organization has been cleared by my
tutor. I have learned many skills such as critical analysation of self and sharing the ideas with
each other as it enabled me in sharing of my own ideas (Cottrell, 2019).Also, the ideas of other
helped me in increasing my existence knowledge. I have also got to know that, being open
minded helps in gathering many important aspects related to the learning. The urge in me of
taking idea from everyone has helped me in increasing my knowledge. So, during the first week
I made major learning in relation of the skills that are needed for making learning effective. I will
use these skills in my future studies as this really has helped me making interaction with the
members and sharing of own ideas. It is just not limited to sharing of own idea. It further helped
me to gain the ideas of others as well. Therefore, I will use this in future as well. Also I have
learned that progression is important from day one. I will make focus on increasing my
progression by enhancing my personalized skills and learning.
Week 2

develop these skills.
The importance of self-reflection has been learned by me during this week. The reflection is
concerned with the analysing of the self ability and the capabilities that has been gained during
the course. The reflection is an important part in the student's life as it provides numerous
opportunities in relation of the abilities and skills learned by me. I have also made a learning in
relation of planning strategy in business. The reflection part has taught me after every learning
it is important to reflect on that learning. So, it has been found out that what has been learn

during making the learning. At the end of the this week, I made myself able in writing my
reflection and this has enabled me in knowing the major parameters that has been known by
me in relation of the topic. Also, my tutor has taught me to develop the reflective writing at the
end of the week. So, I will become able in knowing the things that are needed to develop in me.
I have found that I need to focus on team building task as my performance on this was not up
to the mark. This is how the reflection has enabled me knowing the facts. Also, I will make
reflective writing in future also. As it will help me in knowing the mandatory requirements.
Week 3

develop these skills.
The SWOT analysation has ben taught by my guider during this week. And I made the
learning in relation of making the personal SWOT analysation. As it helps in knowing
the own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and the threats. During this week I
made analysation on self in relation of my strengths and weaknesses and I found that,
I has the strengths such as, critical analysation and effective communication. On the
other hand, I found my weakness that is I have to focus on reading ability. Also, I need
to focus on the vocabulary as well. This is how this week helped me in knowing my
self-strengths and the weaknesses. Also, the opportunities I can grab with my strength
analysed by me. And the threats that can come to me due to my weaknesses has
been evaluated by me. I will use my strength in my future studies and will makes the
highest marks also, I will use my strengths in the gathering of the available
opportunities as well. On the other hand, I will make focus over improving my
weaknesses. I will do this by making an effective schedule of reading. So, it can be
improve. I will further help me in facing the threats that can comes while studying.
Week 4

develop these skills.
This week has made me to enable my learning in the relation of adopting effective
academic writing practices. Using of a formal tone while writing the assignments and
using of the third person's perspectives for the writing, Including the opinions and
following the correct structure and format while making the academic writing has been
learned by me. This added glory in the completion of my project and take me towards
the progression. I have learn that using and following the policies of academic writing is
so mandatory in order to shape the professionalism and increasing the trust in the
eyes of teachers. This week has enabled me in adopting the effective structure of the
academic writing. While completing the project, I have used the policies of the
academic writing. As a result, it increases my pattern of writing in the professional
manner. Also, I will use this learning in my future as it is the important aspect in the
student's life and enhances the writing pattern of the students (Villarreal and Martinez,
2018). Also, this will help in increasing faith among me and my tutors. As following the
rules and regulations of the academic writing creates the effective image of the student
in the eyes of the teacher and an effective interaction has been established among the
teachers and me.

Week 5

develop these skills.
In this week, the teacher has given me the task of making business presentation and
while using the template and all the instructions has been provided by them. In this
week, I have learned the effective writing skills. As in the previous week I learned the
academic writing skills and during this week I used the academic writing skills in writing
my project. Also, the learning related to the marketing strategy has been done by me.
The writing skills involves the using of professional tone, using correct vocabulary,
writing must be done according to the instructions. I followed all these elements and
this has enabled me in learning of effective writing skills. My writing skills has been
improved during this week. I will use this skill in my future while making the
presentation and preparing the projects as it is important aspect that determines the
professional attitude of the students. And I am glad I got this opportunity during the 5th
week. And I have learned the effective manner of writing the questions related to the
topics. The writing skills has further developed searching power in me. As for writing I
have used different sources and gather the data from there. Thus, this week has
provided me the opportunity of enhancing my writing skills.
Week 6
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you plan to
develop these skills.
During this week I have made a personalized learning in relation of the UWL library.
This refers to the collection of numerous books and articles that helps in providing the
information to the students in relation of their topics (Preater and et.al., 2021). I have
used the sources that are available at the library in order to enhance my learning in
relation of the knowing the different forms of business. This source has been guided by
my tutor and proves beneficial in terms of gaining the knowledge. I have used the
multiple sources from the library and gathered the facts and figures with the help of
secondary research. Also, this has helped me in order to apply my researching skills.
Furthermore, it helped in enhancing the skills as well. My vocabulary has became
more fluent. Also, I got to know the different opinion of the authors and writers in
relation of the same topic. It is important to analyse the different sources as it provides
the guidance in terms of using the most appropriate source. Also, I will use this
concept in future study as well. I will gather the data from the different sources and
provide the focus over using the most appropriate source that shows the higher
relevancy.
Week 7

develop these skills. Use a minimum of one academic source and reference this.

In the 7th week, I got to know the importance of plagiarism and referencing. I have
enable a skill in relation of giving credit to original writer whom ideas has been used in
the writing of the projects (Morris, 2018). During this week, I learned the academic
integrity. This refers to the concept of following the ethical path in relation of completing
the projects and assignments. I will use this skills in my future as well. Giving credit to
the origin is a mandatory aspect in accordance of the academic integrity. I got to know
that, not following the ethical aspects leads to provide the impact over the final results
of the students. Therefore, I have made a decision in regards to following the
academic integrity. Also, this enabled me in creation of the professional character.
While writing the project I have given the credit to the original writers as well. This
creates the sense of trust in the teacher as well. At the end of the week, I finally
learned the over-all importance of following the ethical concern while completing the
projects. This has enabled me in focusing on the ethical terms of the writing as well.
This will help in my future in order to become an effective student as well.
