Introduction
From the given portfolio will include literature review of 3 journal articles that are
based on my future healthcare profession. This will include critical analysis of relative
findings over internet sources comprising online journals and articles with books. In addition
to this, 2 different reflective commentary will be provided that will reflect on key findings
from the literature and will provide reflection on key learnings obtained from the coursework
(Barradell and Bruder, 2021).
Article 1: Home-based and remote functional exercise testing in cardiac
conditions, during the covid-19 pandemic and beyond: a systematic review
Description of article
According to Rita Hwang et. al., (2021), several patient cardiac rehabilitation clinics
have quickly adapted alternate delivery strategies in reference to the coronavirus (COVID-
19) outbreak. Traditionally, baseline exercise tests have been used in cardiac rehabilitation
programmes to determine exercise safety and permit proper exercise prescription.
Considering the shift in healthcare toward an increasing strong focus on distant delivery,
persons with heart issues urgently require counselling on functional exercise testing, which
may be done in person at home or remotely. The recent COVID-19 pandemic emphasises this
need validated and accurate functional exercise tests that can be performed at home or
remotely without adversely affecting qualitative characteristics or quality care. Exercise tests
are useful for guiding safe and suitable exercise prescription, monitoring an individual's
reaction to an exercise-based rehab facility, and determining the overall success of an
intervention. Given the broad criteria for inclusion, only five papers related to patients with
cardiac problems were found in this systematic review (Home-based and remote functional
exercise testing in cardiac conditions, during the covid-19 pandemic and beyond: a
systematic review, 2021).
Article 2: Physiotherapy-assisted prone or modified prone positioning in
ward-based patients with COVID-19: a retrospective cohort study
Description of article
According to Claudia Talow, (2022), considering the absence of high-quality data, the
use of prone posture in patients with COVID-19 from outside acute care facilities is gaining
popularity. Based on the efficacy of prone lying in ventilated patients with COVID-19 and
