Sharing information on social media is fast and more convenient as more people will receive the information at the same time and therefore get feedback fast. Information on social media especially on groups has excellent power and goes viral within abrief time. Again, since the negative comment on food poisoning in Pillay’s pastry was done via social media, it would be imperative to respond via social media as well so that all customers receive the message.1.3Improving therestaurant’s reputation for fresh, quality food should be the first objective. This is important; it is important to create public awareness to counteract the earlier rumor and ensure the restaurant sells only fresh foods to win the customers backPersuading the audience that the incident was not Pilay’s pastry fault and that the establishment is safe to purchase goods should be the second objective (Heaney & Rebolini, n.d.). Persuading customers would involve the use of social media, printing the information on food wrappers, write the information on the entrance and exit doors of the restaurant and involve salespeople to market the restaurant to reach its previous sales target.
