INTRODUCTION
Background
Today most of the organizations are focusing on using advance technological tools. Many
organizations have become completely dependent upon these technologies as it helps in
resolving any kind of issue faced by them and provide various kinds of benefits to the business.
This technology advancement has also helped in developing various kinds of information
systems that are used by the companies for various kinds of purposes (Bakar, ChePa and Jasin,
2017). These information systems are useful or beneficial for various kinds of organizations
especially for hospitals. Hospitals use these information systems for medical and patient record
maintenance (Suresh and et.al., 2016). It has become quite easy for organizations to manage their
records, data and information. Most of the times hospitals face issue or problem in management
of their patient records. This problem has been reduced with implementation of different types of
information systems. this research will focus on usage of patient information system that can be
used by hospitals for medical and patient record management. This further helps the hospitals to
increase accuracy of their records and data.
Aim
Main aim of this project is “To analyse usage of patient information system that can be
used by hospitals for patient and medical records management.”
Objectives
Main objectives of this project are as follows:
 To analyse problems faced by hospitals in maintaining information and record of patients
 To analyse different kinds of information systems that can be used in healthcare
organizations
 To evaluate effectiveness of patient information system for hospitals
 To evaluate ways in which patient information system can be implemented within hospitals
to resolve issues faced by them
Research questions
Main research questions of this project are as follows:
 What are the problems faced by hospitals in maintaining information and record of patients?
 What are different types of digital systems that can be used in healthcare organizations?
 What are the benefits of patient information system for hospitals?
