Current report describes different scenario of piston movement on a conveyor belt. Initial
position of the pistons for all 3 different stations (A, B and C) are shown in figure 1. Figure 2-6
shows all the configuration of the piston positions. There are a total of 3 stations on the conveyor
belt. Station A and Station B are for transferring the goods to the conveyor belt while Station C
is to hold or release on the conveyor for further processing or packaging. A total of 6 scenario
are described here for transfer of goods from one station to another.
Following is the sequence of operations for piston movement at 3 stations A, B and C for the
transfer of goods:
A+ B+ C+ A- B- C-
Each of the scenario is described below.
Scenario 1: A+
In this scenario, a goods box is kept at station A which is moved in forward direction by piston
extension of station A. Hence goods box present at Station A moves ahead at shifts to conveyor
belt. Another goods station B remains at initial position. This is depicted in figure 2.
Scenario 2: B+
In this scenario, a goods box is kept at station B which is moved in forward direction by piston
extension of station B. By positive sign, it indicates that piston extends in forward direction.

While the goods box at station A has already moves forward on conveyor belt, the opposite
station B pushes a goods box onto the conveyor belt as shown in figure 3.
Scenario 3: C+
In this scenario, nothing changes as piston at station C is already in extended position initially.
Since the goods box from station A and station B are already on the conveyor, they only move
forward slightly on the conveyor belt towards station C. This is shown in figure 4.
Scenario 4: A-
In this scenario, the goods box on the conveyor belt kept moving ahead towards Station C. Since
sign for station A is changing to negative, the piston rod for station A will start retracting and
come back to initial position. This can make it ready to load next box of goods to be pushed onto
the conveyor belt. This is shown in figure 5.
Scenario 5: B-
In this scenario, the goods box on the conveyor belt kept moving ahead towards Station C. Since
sign for station B is changing to negative, the piston rod for station B will start retracting and
come back to initial position. This can make it ready to load next box of goods to be pushed onto
the conveyor belt. At the end of this scenario, the piston rods for both station A as well as station
B has retracted and came back to their initial positions. This is shown in figure 6.
Scenario 6: C-
In this scenario, the goods boxes from both station A as well as B have almost reached station C
which is still closed. It depends on the speed of the conveyor belt. Since sign of station C is
changing to negative, the piston rod for station C retracts and opens for goods boxes from station
A & B to move ahead in the lines. This is shown in figure 7.
