PLANNED AND APPLIED BUSINESS THEORIES1The following report is a case study that focuses on the planning and application ofbusiness theories. The report highlights the effective management of business that can lead theorganization to the peak of success. Effective business management acknowledges the influenceof a leader to control his /her employees in a manner that will motivate them to work efficiently(Henry, 2014).The business management introduces certain features that assist the organization tocompete effectually with other organizations in the corporate business world. These features arenamely the corporate social responsibility of the organization, the technology and themanufacturing mechanism of the organization, the globalization of the firm in order to competein the global market and lastly the monitoring process of the organization that signifies thecontrolling power of the manager of the company (Novkovic, & Holm, 2012).Here the case study about Mary Berner’s corporate culture, who had recently joined theReader’s Digest magazine, emphasized on her policy of conducting business affairs by changingthe age-old policies to a fast, liable, candid and engaged one. According to Berner, her aim is torun a company of multiple brands with each brand with a diverse set of customers and eachcustomer with a want a different set of needs and necessities. After her takeover of the firm asthe supreme head, the company has employed 5000 global staffs. In her view about the turnoverof a firm, she focuses on the financial target of the company by motivating the new employees toput their best efforts in their services by providing them with bonus or incentives. Under theleadership of Berner, the company has launched their publication in China by citing theinteresting stories of the world which will give them an insight of the outer world for the Chinesepeople.
