Portfolio is the collection of documents which contain various topics as per the learner
experience. It is essential for a individual to identify the area of job conducted and the
organisation for their professional life (Amoroso and Burke, 2018). I am interested in HR
manager job role within Morrison organisation. The main factor which attracted me to the
mentioned job role is my academic background. I have completed my graduation from HR
specialisation and I have choose to perform the job within Morrison only due to the brand image
of the company and higher professional growth. The Morrison is popular name within retailing
industry which was founded in their year 1899 by William Morrison and it is headquartered in
Bradford, UK. There are over 497 supermarkets of Morrison all across the world (Company
History, 2022). Hence, this is challenging for the HR manager to manage the employees within
different locations to achieve a common purpose. I am specifically interested to perform this job
role within this company only due to the high speed of professional growth and various other
benefits which is gained by employees of Morrison for working within this company. There are
lots of positive reviews about the growth in this company. The benefits gained by employees
while working in Morrison are colleagues discount card which means the employees of this
organisation will gain discount on products of retail if they purchase from Morrison stores. Life
assurance scheme, healthcare cash plans, company pension, colleague bonus scheme and many
others are the benefits gained by employees of this organisation (Benefits, 2022). Hence, this is
the main reason that I choose this organisation for my professional life. I hope to achieve success
through this business which will help me to become effective HR manager. I have chosen HR
manager as the role whose main responsibilities is to manage people of the organisation
effectively and attract and retain talented employees for longer period of time. The following
portfolio covers CV and personal statement analysis, SWOT analysis, smart goals, short term,
medium term and long term goals. This portfolio also covers analysis of resources need to
achieve set goals. Hence, the CV and other goals that are identified in this portfolio are directly

Personal statement
I am a student at higher education who is pursuing his master's degree in HR
specialisation. I have various kinds of strengths like communication skills, time management
skill and many others. I have worked as an intern within retail industry and gained appropriate
knowledge about the corporate environment within this industry. I am always interested to learn
new things and skills for my effective upcoming career. I know it well that this is the last
opportunity for me to learn effective skills without any burden because beyond academic career,
I need to start my professional career where no one will guide me or teach me the employability
skills. They directly train me. Hence, I am a good academic student who always participate in
extra curricular activities with the main aim that it will help me to learn something new.
I am interested to apply as an HR manager within high reputed organisation. I can offer
my efforts, time and handwork for organisational growth if I have selected for the interested job
role. I am dedicated to the task offered to me and perform my best efforts to accomplish the
goals of the task.
My career goals are divided into three categories, short term goals, medium term goals
and long term goals. Short term goals are those goals which get accomplished within one year
(Altan, 2022). My short term goals is to achieve good marks in academic performance and attend
all HR seminars and events which are conducted within this year. Medium term goals are those
goals which are going to accomplish between 1 year to 3 years (Ventrone, 2020). I have planned
few goals for my to accomplish within the upcoming 2-3 years. My first medium term goals is to
start my first job in HR department within high reputed company. Secondly, I want to become

My long term goal is to start my own business after 5 years and manage all activities
appropriately as per the business goal.

advantages to adopt as compared to others. My priority is to mitigate the issue from its root and
did not allow it to occur again in future. They always provide those solutions to a specific
problem which will help the organisation to mitigate it properly so that it will not disturb the
productivity again in future (Masters and et. al., 2020).

application criteria and in case I am not eligible right now then I will
try my best to fulfil all criteria at next time. There are few advantages
of reviewing company's website and social media accounts and that is
I can analyse the eligibility criteria which is commonly used by
Morrison to hire HR manager so that I will prepare myself for all those
criteria. Secondly, I can also contact with the employees working in
Morrison to analyse the interview process and I can reach to
employees of Morrison through their website. The main disadvantage
of this resource is that it is not compulsory that the information which
is posted on this channels are always true.
