Executive Summary
The following report is about Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s organizational change. It
highlights all the necessary areas that require change and better focus. While conducting the
study, it was discovered that employees of CHOA are resistance to change and are not satisfied
with the leadership quality in the organization. The report clearly mentions the reasons for
change and its future benefits. This organization can grow only if the employees become
committed towards change and a new structure.
Organizational Change becomes very important in a situation where the organization is
not seeing any growth or development. Changes have certain importance and challenges attached
to it, and it is described in the report showing its details.

Introduction – Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Children Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) is also referred as Children’s sometimes. It is
located in Atlanta and has no profit motive. It was formed in 1998 with the collaboration of
Scottish Rite Medical Center and Egleston Children’s Health Care System, the largest pediatric
in the United States. The new organization that was formed showed better results and eliminated
redundancies and decreased cost. It enjoyed greater profitability by exceeding the financial
target. Children’s success was considered to be the benchmark for employee satisfaction and
customer service in the early years (CHOA, 2019). Its mission is to make the life of the kids
better today and a healthier future.
Organizational Change
Organizational Change is the process in which the strategies, procedures, processes,
culture and technology of an organization changes (Fernandez & Rainey, 2019). Such
changes take place due to dynamic behavior of the internal and the external environment.
Changes become must when the nature and behavior of the customers change. In order to meet
the requirements of the customers, organizations have to initiate change.
In CHOA many employees left the job as they were not ready to face change and were
not satisfied with the present leadership in the organization. The organization faced problem in
making the employees understand that change can solve all their management related issues.
Internal Power Struggles in CHOA
The major struggle of CHOA can be discussed in two different aspects:
1. From employees point of view
Employee dissatisfaction
The employees are not happy with the management of the organization. Some employees
from the house keeping department claimed that the environment of the organization is awful
(Children'shealthcareofatlanta, 2019). The management team is bias and does not increase
the pay scale of housekeepers; they even mentioned that though, the job provides certain good
