The topic for reflective summary journal:
This report is based on effective summary which includes a brief discussions about use of
references as well as sources of it is often seen that whenever a report is being prepared
references, oral presentation and other note making skills are being properly followed as
well as exam meaning by students and teachers. These are things which are to be focused
to achieve effective output. Moreover, how to access to Google scholar and to face
plagiarism is being also described (Chowdhury, 2018).
What have I learnt from the session:
In this session I have learnt about many different types of things which are important for
me to develop my knowledge as well as information. Concepts such as note taking, sources
of information, reliable and non-reliable resources, plagiarism importance of referencing
and referencing and paraphrasing and in text citation.
Note taking- Note taking is defined as practice or process of collecting for gathering as
well as recording of credentials from different types of sources or platforms on a written
document. During this process, writer who is recording information record in the notes and
free mind from stress. Importance of Note taking is that it helps in storing of information
for a longer period of time and in an organised way which is beneficial for writer as well as
individual to recalls whenever there is need of emergency. For example during my class
lectures I was having a habit of writing notes of a particular subject day by day which helps
me to learn and recall every data in proper and systematic manner. It is important to use
adopt not taking as they help in reducing time of individual to recall a particular
information (Gigliotti, 2020).
Source of information
Reliable source- A reliable sources defined as source through which an accurate
reasonable and discussions are carried out on a valid and strong evidence. It comprises of
articles books blogs and papers by researchers. This type of sources easily provides benefit
to students and writers to use correct information within their study of field (Gómez, 2016).
Non-reliable source- These are basically those type of resources which do not provide true
or accurate information’s to research or investigator. It is highly recommended to students
or other individuals to avoid these non-reliable sources because it might impact upon their
work and leads to wrong image of writer’s status. The sources of information can be
identified through library catalogues article databases reference resources and many more.
