INTRODUCTION
Portfolio is described as the intellectual work for students used in learning sector in order to
improve skill needed for entire employability skills of an individual person. In addition to this, it
is adopted for maintaining comprehensive assessment of acquisition that must be achieved as
well as having standard criterion, graduations and many more. In this report, there is reflective
statement given in which various type skills are mentioned (Zwozdiak-Myers, 2018).
SKILL REFLECTION
During the time period of my college, I am using different kinds that are component of
scaling structure and sued by me in the lecture. There is some skill that I have acquired
throughout lectures in class which is given below:
CV writing:
It is considered as the types of skill which is useful after completing my college as well as I
will search for job for boosting my career. The first and foremost phase is to make a suitable CV
for searching a job after completing his college. The CV contains all the comprehensive
information related to the achievements, rewards, qualifications and experiences. It will also
explain the potentiality that helps in my job. I also understand the significance of attractive CV
which is used in my career in future time period. The CV is used in first step of my career
progression and development. So, writing an effective CV helps me in searching for good
employment in future time period (Bevitt, Isbel and Bacon, 2016).
Writing a cover letter
During the lectures, the significant skill is to write an attractive cover letter. I improved the
knowledge related to the rules which is followed in writing a suitable cover letter. For example,
it must be start from opening paragraph as well as finished it with finishing paragraph. In
addition to this, I also acquired the knowledge related to cover letter is that it must be free from
any kind of grammatical mistakes. All these things are helpful for future time period in order to
write effective cover letter.
Academic integrity:
Herein, I have learnt in respect of academic integrity which involves three levels like
perceptive, acting as well as saying without any hesitation. Being a student, I have developed my

understanding that it is necessary to being an honest person in order to enforce good impact on
others. It assists me in improve my whole character and personality. I have also acquired the
knowledge of academic integrity related to ethical issues in better way (Cabau, 2017).
Academic writing skills:
During the class lectures, I have learned how to write in respect of ideas and views in
descriptive manner in order to understand the academic writing skill. It is useful for me to face
entire challenges which are occurring in future time period. It has improved my confidence level
to write about views and ideas to confront different condition whether favorable and adverse. In
addition to this, the other skill is group discussion where I have improve the understanding about
the features must for academic writing like official, clear and difficult. Apart from this, I have
increased my knowledge in order to write in paragraph in academic writing (Chui and Dias,
2017).

Constructive things learned in first semester
I have acquired the knowledge in respect of teaching skill during my first semester. It
helps me in building my career in future time period. Due to learn the teaching skill, it assists me
in boosting my career progression and development. In addition to this, the skill, I have learnt is
how to write a report like a legal essay. Therefore, it is very effective skill which helps me
writing error free assignment during the course of time. It helps me in future to write an effective
essay that is free from plagiarism and grammatical mistakes.
Online sources which can support students in the employment process
There is different kind of online sources such as Glass doors, Social media as well as
online communities and many more that helps me in searching the job as per my requirement.
For example, in Linked in, the profit of various companies is given in which student can easily
apply for job in order to boost their career progression and development. And also, through the
social media, the students can search the job according to his or her requirement. Therefore, it
has been stated that, there are various online sources which can provide the support to students
during employment process.
Major skills required to be employable
In addition to the above discussed skill, I have also learnt regarding employment skill in
descriptive manner Farrell and Seery, 2019). There are four categories in which employment

skill of person is divided which includes creativity, leadership and self development as well as
social and ethical consciousness. All these four categories help in understanding practical state in
refined way.
Referencing and its importance
Referencing allows me to increasing the knowledge in respect of contribution made by
other authors in our work. And also, the other author must give their citation related the ideas
and views given. The referencing is important in order to make research in successful manner. In
addition to this, it helps the person who reads in finding the unique sources of any ideas and
views. And also, it is important in adding authenticity to our argument in better way.
SWOT Analysis
SWOT Analysis helps me in finding my strength and weaknesses during the period of
time. Through this process, it is easy for me to take use of my strength in order to minimize the
threat. It also helps me in my career progression and development in future period of time. It
helps me assessing strength, weaknesses, opportunities as well as threat for understanding the
internal capabilities of firm when I will start my career (Lam, 2018).

Time management
In this process, I have learnt the importance of time in our life. Time management helps
me in achieving objective in stipulated time period. It is the skill which is used to coordinate the
team in an effective manner and also assign tasks according to the time and priorities. As a
student, it assists me in managing my work as per the need. It also helps me in achieving vision
and goal of company in stipulated period of time while I will start my career (Rust and
Brinthaupt, 2017).

Plagiarism
Plagiarism is considered as an illegitimate activity which imposes adverse influences
during career progression of an individual person. I am ensuring that the plagiarism affect me in
adverse manner in future time period. Therefore, it is necessary for every individual to maintain
distance with this plagiarism activity which is illegal. Thus, it is important to avoid plague
because it enforces negative influences on the career in future period of time (Simpson, 2020).

What’s makes an presentation effective
Presentation skill plays a crucial role in the lifestyle of an individual person in order to
achieve appropriate leadership position. It helps me in encouraging others in future period of
time. There is some kind of limitation of bad presentation skill. But I have acquired the
knowledge related to good presentation which included six steps that start with understanding
what audience wants to listen from speaker and finished with effective delivery process.
Therefore, it is necessary to understand the need of audience before speaking (Turky, 2016).

CONCLUSION
From the basis of above mentioned report, it has been analyzed that learning helps the
students in improving their skill and knowledge in order to boost career progression and
development in future period of time. The effective skills help the individual person to maintain
a good personality during the course of time. It is not only useful for career development but it is
used in making contributes quality towards the world. In addition to this, there is different kind
of skills such as CV writing, cover letter, good presentation skill which is always needs in future
period in order to boost career. Therefore, learning in classroom helps me in improving my skill
in for career progression and development in future time period.
