The purpose of this task is for you to build occupation profiles to provide a comprehensive overview of three
occupations in order to compare each occupation profile with your self-assessment summary.
Choose 3 occupations of interest to research that satisfy the following parameters:
 Occupations that align well with your self-assessment information in your Report
 At least two occupations must require a skill level of 1 or 2 as per ANZSCO Classification of Occupations
2013 Version 1.3
 At least one occupation must be overtly connected to your current Program of study.
For each occupation you choose, complete your reporting as indicated in the tables in Appendices A, B and C
(1 table per occupation, 3 tables in total) using the sources specified in the tables.
No in-text citations are required for this question as you are provided with the sources for the information
required. Words in Appendices do not contribute to your word count.

Complete the career decision matrix in Appendix D to help you choose the two occupations that you are most
aligned with. Compare the two occupations you choose in a discussion that supports a recommendation to
yourself on which career direction to pursue at this point in time. It is expected that your discussion and
recommendation will refer to, and synthesise (including citations), at least the following:
 your self-assessment information in your Report
 your occupational research from your workings in the relevant Appendices, and
 any additional factors/personal circumstances relevant to forming your career direction recommendation.
I want to start my career in music and film industry. This is majorly because I have various kinds of skills and
knowledge that are required in this industry. Development of career in this industry require knowledge and
skills of music instruments, direction knowledge, production skills, recording and photography skills. These are
some of the basic skills and knowledge that are present within me. Other than this there are various kinds of
skills that still required to be improved within me which will help me in developing career in this industry. For
this I need to join music and film industry after my graduation so that I can develop required skills in a much

better and enhanced manner. Development of required skills will help me in developing my own business
about music and film indsutry. On the basis of this, and skill research I have chosen two occupations on the
bassi of my skills and knowledge. Film, radio and television director and music director. These two professions
have been chosen by me because all of my current skills and knowledge are suitable for this profession.
Focusing on these two professions will also help me in developing my own business in music and film industry.
If both the chosne career are compared then it has been observed that I have more skills and knowledge that
are sutable and will help me in boosing my profession as a Film, radio and television director. Film, radio
andvtelevision director profession is much more suitable for me because direction knowledge, production
skills, recording and photography skills that are required within a film director. However, if it is compared with
my career as a music director then I only have knowledge of musical instruments which is not enough to
develop my career as a music director. On a contrary I can also use my knowledge musical instruments in
developing my career as Film, radio andvtelevision director. As knowledge of musical instrument is required in
directing any film, tevevision or radio. So I would like to persure my career as Film, radio and television
director and after my graduation I would like to to opt this as a profession. This knowledge, experience and
skills will also help me in development of my own business in this industry. Other than this there are various
kinds of additional factors/personal circumstances that had helped in choosing film direction as a profession
these are. Since school I had interest in directing dramas, plays etc. I have continued this interest of directing
plays, dramas in graduation as well. It is one of my main interest because of which I have chosen to develop
my career as Film, radio and television director. My interest in this field, current knowledfe and skills have
helped in on choosing Film direction as the main profession.

Save and/or print a readable copy of the job ad (and Position/Job Description if the job ad mentions one) to
submit as a separate file (do not embed the job ad in your Portfolio) concurrently with your Portfolio. Ensure
you capture the entirety of the job ad from the very top to the very bottom. If the job ad includes links/buttons
that lead to further information such as how to apply (e.g. job ads in Career Hub), make sure you click to

I want to open my own business related to the music and film. In order to pursue this occupation, I have
analysed that I needed confidence and also been recommended to be innovative and creative have

growing.

I developed my social skills
from my upbringing in a working-class environment. These skills have taught me to be conscious of my
situation and the well-being of the people around me. It has also fostered my interest in networking and
making friends. The selection criteria was that they were involved in selecting those who were really confident
enough. This really acted as my weakness. I really need to be involved in enhancing my confidence level. I also
dislike travelling and leaving my family so this can also act as my weakness.

so it is really necessary for me to develop it.

the demographic basis. In this I will be involved in targeting that audience who have been taking interest in

confident and also showed to them about my entire skills which I possess. I also need to be involved in
publishing my elevator pitch online so that more people will be involved in going through it. This will assist
me in achieving my goals and objectives and also will help in achieving my personal as well as professional

The interview has really helped me in my personal career development. When I entered the organization I
was really anxious. I asked the receptionist about who will be going to take my interview. I used strategic
thinking process to identify my interviewee. I hope to gain the knowledge from their experience by getting
myself interviewed. I really felt confident after my interview was over. I have learnt about how these
organizations work and also what skills are been required to work in music and film industry. This has
assisted me in developing career adaptability. It was really necessary for my growth.

The process I undertook was I joined the extra-curricular voluntary placement. This has helped me in

I have also gained knowledge about the employability skills. I have applied online to gain this internship.

summary. Compare this information with your self-assessment information in your Report to determine a
rating using the scale above.
Step 2:
Once you have completed the ratings of the first six variables for each occupation, add the numbers in each
column to arrive at your Sub-total.
Step 3:
What does the Sub-total reveal about your alignment to each occupation? Which are you most aligned with?
Which are you least aligned with?
Step 4:
Now, consider any other factors relevant to you (if any) that were not captured within the first six variables
and determine your alignment rating for these factors under Other factors.
Step 5:
For each column, add the Sub-total figure with the Other factors figure to arrive at your Total. The higher the
Total, the more aligned to that occupation the results indicate you are.
Step 6:
Use the results to help decide which two occupations to compare for your Career direction recommendation.
If your Other factors rating creates a change in the rankings of the occupations, consider what those other
factors are and discuss these factors in your Career direction recommendation. e.g. if Occupation 1 was the
least aligned occupation at Step 3 but, after considering Other factors, it is now the most aligned, within your
Career direction recommendation discuss the specific factors you considered that led to this shift.
