1 About me-
I am [Name] a residence of Abu Dhabi - UAE. I have done my B.S. in Computer
Engineering, from the University of Cebu, Philippines in the year of 17/3/2000.
I am a person with good verbal skills and excellent skills in communication orienting English
and Arabic language. Can work under pressure. Have good reporting and coordination skills.
A person who is always willing to learn and build knowledge.

2 Resume
I have an experience of 17 years, since 1/10/2001, as an ICT head and also a computer
teacher in IGCSE and also for HS students at Al Dhafra Private School in Abu Dhabi till
date.
1. List of responsibilities-
 Computer instructor in Al Dhafra Private School, Abu Dhabi, Expertise- British
curriculum and American curriculum.
 Teacher of ICT and computer science for IGCSE British curriculum. Achieved grades
in between “A* - C” throughout the teaching career.
 Teacher on ICT curriculum in “Virginia standard” MS Office, Networking apart from
teaching duties, Hardware and introduction to computers, also responsible in the
division of IT and maintain the computers, software, hardware, network, printers and
many more fields.
 Head of ICT for leading motivating, developing and managing the team of ICT for
giving them valuation in the organisation (Al Dhafra Private Schools) also ability to

meet the expectations. Worked in collaboration with various senior staffs for
developing the vision of ICT and various strategies and the translation into the
priorities and other actions in the team and also for others. Schedule, manage and also
control the ICT provision, hardware, development and support in an efficient, cost
effective and timely way, keeping a balance for using of the external resources in
appropriate manner.
 Seeking for new challenges in the department of IT which utilize the skills effectively.

 Use the analytical skills and the commitments for performing the work with quality
and use the skills of administrative and programming.

Future scope:

3 What is the purpose of a portfolio?
The portfolio is intended to act as an important tool that will help in certain areas. The
purpose of the portfolio is to develop, reflect ad to clarify the philosophy of teaching, the
methods and the approaches of teaching. It is intended to present the credentials of teaching
in case to hire and to promote in a position of academics. It is also intended for developing
the document professional in teaching. Also to find out the areas of improvement and for
preparing the interview process. The standard that is followed are:
 The professional development in case of the teachers of science is a lifelong and
continuous process.
 There distinctions of tradition in between the targets, supporters and the sources for
the development activities of the teachers are artificial.
 The view of convention of professional development in case of the teachers must be
shifted form the technical training for different skills towards the opportunities for the
growth of intellectual professional.
 The transforming school process require the opportunities of professional
development must be clearly and also appropriately connected to the work of the
teachers in the school.

 Computer Instructor in Al Dhafra Private school Abu Dhabi, Teaching streams of
(British and American curriculum)
 Teaching the ICT and computer science for IGCSE British curriculum, achieving
results above the national standard “A* - C” for all years of teaching
 Teaching the ICT curium “Virginia standard” MS Office, Hardware & Introduction to
computers, Networking & apart of teaching duties, responsible of the IT division
conducts maintenance to the Computers, Network, Software, Hardware, Printers and
etc…
 ICT Head to lead, manage, motivate and develop the ICT Team so that they are
valued by the organisation (Al Dhafra Private Schools) and able to meet its
expectations. Work in a collaborative way with other senior staff to develop the ICT
vision and strategy and their translation into priorities and actions for the team and for
others. Schedule, control, and manage delivery of ICT provision, support, hardware,

and developments in a timely, cost effective, and efficient way, balancing the use of
external resources appropriately.
Even there are more descriptions about the ways that may help in further improving:
 The role of a teacher is to guide their students.
 The students must be allowed to have access on different hands-on activities.
 The students must have enough choices, I which the curiosity within them will direct
them towards learning.
 All the students must get the opportunity to practise their skills in a very safe
environment.
 The technologies must be incorporated during the school days only.
The value of portfolio must include the areas which the intended person must be specialised
on. In the specific portfolio I mentioned all the practices that I should maintain.

4 Philosophy and Beliefs
My first philosophy
The philosophy of education in which I belief is that all the children are unique from
each other thus they must have a stimulating nature of educational environment, where from
they will be able to grow mentally, socially, physically and emotionally. It is the desire of
mine for creating this type environment in which the students will be able to meet their full
potential. It is intended to give a secure environment in which the students are always invited
for sharing the ideas they have and will be able to take risk. At present parents are concerned
about the grades of their wards and they are least bothered about their interests and the
subject or sphere they want to go into. According to my philosophy every child is blessed
with some or other talent and the parents should recognise their children’s potential and must
encourage them to take up what they yearn to do. Peer pressure has a negative effect on the
children and the worst is when they are pushed to choose streams that their parents dreamt to
go with but due to some or other reason were not able to pursue the same. A teacher and the
environment in the school play a vital role in a student’s life. School is considered to be the
second home of a child and the environment there matters as a student spends a lot of time in
school. The teachers are responsible for moulding the students and making them realise their
actual potential. My philosophy is that children should be allowed to follow their passion and
not forced to take up any profession just because their friends are pursuing that option. Thus
teachers can not only guide the students but also convince their parents to support their wards
in the decision they are taking and encourage them.
There are five different elements that should be maintained by a teacher-

My second philosophy
I believe that all the child are unique, and they always have something special with
them which they can bring into education. I always assist the students for expressing
themselves and accepting themselves on the way they are, the difference among themselves
are also embraced.
All the classrooms have its unique community, the role of mine is to assist all the
children for developing the potential on their own and their own style of learning. I will
provide a curriculum which will incorporate different learning style for different students. I
will also incorporate cooperative learning, themes, hands-on learning, projects and individual
works which will engage and also activate the learning for the students.
The above mentioned philosophy is related to myself. As I am a computer science
student and related to teaching on the department of computer science and ICT, I am always
willing to develop an atmosphere of technology where the students will be able to have a
better way of learning. I have a 17 years of experience in the field of teaching, I know how to
guide the students, besides I have worked as of various roles in different fields of teaching, I
have great ideas on how to handle the students and the way to provide them the best
environment for studding and to make them do the most efficient activities.

My third philosophy
It is to be noted that a classroom must be safe, all the students should be free to speak
on everything they have in their mind. Various strategies should be used for ensuring the
community of classroom which may include the meetings in morning, both negative and the
positive disciplines, the jobs of the classroom and different skills of problem solving.
Teaching is also a type of process that teaches the students, parents, communities and the
colleagues. This is a process where different new strategies can be learnt, new ideas and also
new philosophies. Though the philosophy of education may change with respect to time.
5 Professional standards
Our different assumptions are explained about the type of experiences of professional
development and also about context in which place frame is taken for the standards of
professional developments (van Wyk, 2017).
 The professional development in case of the teachers of science is a lifelong and
continuous process.
 There distinctions of tradition in between the targets, supporters and the sources for
the development activities of the teachers are artificial.

The standards which I follow partially meet the standards that should be maintained.
The use of skills and professionalism in profession is what is followed by me and this is also
an important standard that should be followed (Kirk et al., 2015). Building and developing up
of skills is also something that is followed by me which must be pursued in the career. Skill
development is important in case of the overall improvement of a child and schools should
organize skill development classes and seminars to enhance the same. The regular sessions
organised on the skill development will help the students to recognise their skill and at the
same time they can enhance the same and decide their future streams and get a clear
perception of their career options (Ingvarson, 2018). According to me professionalism should
be kept in mind in any profession that is being pursued. The person pursuing a certain
profession must abide by the values related to the same.

Reflection:

In case to promote developing of various learning skills and different learner engagement
plans I follow certain curriculum plans as mentioned in the evidence. I also use the
technology which helps the students in learning more effectively.

Reflection:
In case to understand and to promote the usage of technology in case of teaching and also for
learning I adopt the training of professional development and also use the technology of
information and communication technology which promotes the use of technology among the
students while learning and among the teachers while teaching.
8 Professional values, strengths and areas for improvement
1. Skills
 Good verbal and written communication skills including English and Arabic-
Communication skills help in interaction and bridge the gap in between individuals.
Verbal or written communication skills help a professional to experience growth in
his profession and pave a path for his better future. It is effective in preventing
misunderstanding and at the same time provides defined policies.
 Reporting skills and coordination skills-

In teaching profession, individuals require a range of skills, including education and
training in order to excel in their profession (Martinez, Taut & Schaaf, 2016). They
need to have excellent interpersonal skills that include patience and the ability that is
required to handle stressful situations.
 Analytical, perseverance and follow-up skills-
These skills enable a teacher to keep a track on the developments of the student and
work accordingly.
 Excellent skills of team working-
Collaborative skills help to be able to work productively along with their colleagues.
In case of planning sessions and classes the creativity and the presentation skills are
important as these motivate students and encourage their interests (Erikson, Erlandson
& Erikson, 2015). With the advancement of technology the teachers need to get a
sound knowledge of the technologies involved in the audio-visual presentations and
the new technique of electronic attendance.
 Ability to work under huge pressure-
Handling pressure and working in stressful situations shows the capability of a teacher
to handle students.
 Reliable-
The students need to connect with the teacher and should be able to build their trust
on them thus they will feel free to ask their doubts to the teachers.
 Willing to learn and a continuous strive for building knowledge and various skills-
There is no specific age limitation or position limitation to the process of learning
(Crusan, Plakans & Gebril, 2016). The classes should be interactive and the teachers
should encourage their students to share their experiences and their outlook on certain
topics so that they feel engaged and involve in the classes in a better way.

3. Area for growth and suggestions for the growth
 Promote the collaboration of teachers- In case to promote the collaboration of the
teacher’s professional developments must be created which will develop in growing
opportunities (Thomas et al., 2016). In case to further promote the collaboration of the
teachers the INEE guide can be followed, where three actions are proposed:
1. Make the design for the collaboration that will promote the promotion of
peer-to-peer visit of classroom in accordance to time for the feedback.
2. The instruction for peer-to-peer must be strengthen.
3. The learning communities for the teachers must be effectively and actively
promoted and nurtured.
 Ongoing support to the teachers- The teachers must avail supports from the expertise
during their ongoing job at any time (Payant, 2017). Due to this experts should be
assigned who will support the teachers through online at any time they need it. This
will benefit the teaching environment where the teachers will gain more skills and
strategy related to teaching. Four actions are given to guide this propose-
1. Develop a system for the instructional coaching, which is not just about
monitoring or the collection of data.

2. Usage of the appropriate technologies and the available technologies in case of
providing the support in the go.
3. The support which are based on inventories including- modelling,
observations, feedback and coaching.

5. Be strengthen so the head teachers and the directors will be able to provide the
support on the go.
 Invest on the teachers of high quality- In case have good education to the students, the
requirements of high quality teachers is required (Lee, 2016). To invest on the high
quality teachers the below mentioned guides can be followed-
1. Recruit the providers of professional development who have enough teaching
experience.
2. Strengthen the development of teacher-professional.
3. In the areas where is no educators or teachers, the audio instructions must be
implemented, with members of skilled community and the teachers.
 Building of instructional leadership in the all the levels of education- For this purpose
the INEE guide must be followed:
1. Help the education ministers for establishing and implementing of the
instructional competencies in case of the head teachers and the school directors
(Avalos-Bevan, 2018).
2. Promotion for the collaboration among all the head teachers and also among the
directors of the school.
3. Developing opportunities of the practical professional in case of the head teachers
and also for the directors of the school.
 Usage of the ICT technology-

1. Audio learning must be offered for supporting the development of teachers with
facing the difficult areas and the populations.
2. Promotion of the usage of videos for the self-study of the teachers and sharing of
the models for the intended practices.
3. The teachers must be provided with the access of teaching and also the resources
of learning through an open content and they must be helped for integrating the
content into the instructions.
 Development of teacher professional-
The main professionalism of teacher requires the quality development and the
qualified providers. Understanding of quality is very important for a professional. It is
seen many people in the community of education adverse to the development and the
implementation of the standards (LaBelle & Belknap, 2016). Various challenges and
volatility for various fragile contexts can reduce the standards which challenge the
professionals. The word standard stand for the professional development which can be
customised for adapting in various local situations.
