The development of a positive mind state is important for the functioning of any
individual. This flows from the fact that it is the cognitive growth of a human being which
defines his or her characteristics (Gander, Proyer and Ruch 2016). In this manner, there is a need
for the installation of a positive psychology within any work place so that the employees can
work in an effective manner in order to promote the growth and development of the organization.
This essay tries to analyze two news articles which has talked about the issue of positive
psychology. In this respect, the theme of the two chosen news article is that of inspiring positive
psychology within the working of an organization.
In a news article published on 30th April. 2019, the effectiveness of leadership and
positive psychology was discussed (Forbes.com, 2019). In this news article, the correspondent,
Dr. Sydney Ceruto has tried to understand the importance of people in the effective functioning
of the organization (Forbes.com, 2019). He stated that the effective working of the employees in
the work place would ensure the generation of efficient levels of productivity. In the news article
the correspondent has examined and analyzed the different forms of leadership that can be
instituted so that people can be encouraged to work. In this manner, the factor of motivation has
been highlighted in the article. It is observed that of the employees are properly motivated that
they would be able to remain happy and satisfied in their work place (Compton and Hoffman
2019). In this respect, they would work harder which would lead to the increase in the level of
production. The aspect of motivation is generated by the imposition of several other elements as
that of rewards and recognition. In this manner, it can be said that rewards in the form of
monetary resources and bonuses would instigate the people to work harder so that they would be
rewarded in a sufficient manner. Furthermore, being recognized is one of the most important
