1POST 2
Introduction
In this report I shall be critiquing on one of my peer’s post assessing its level of
accuracy and comprehensiveness. I shall also be identifying the missing components and
providing feedbacks. The chosen post for this purpose is of Qiaowen Liu- Analyse
characteristic of exemplary business communication.
Discussion
The overall content of the paper is very informative and it has briefly explained the
differences in between the styles of Chinese report writing and Western report writing.
However, my peer has missed to include the use of “Reference list” or “Bibliography” in the
format of Chinese reports. Chinese student do include references in their academic report and
they too have to cite the ideas and concepts that they take from researchers and scholars. It is
an academic misconduct and is strictly checked in almost every universities (Gao, 2007).
Secondly, in the case of the formats of Western reports, my peer have added the “appendices”
section before the “Reference List”, which is incorrect. Appendices are always presented in
the last and final section of the report. Moreover, my peer have missed out the importance of
headers in the Western report format (Li & Wu, 2008). We do make use of headers in every
reports where the subject name or the title of the report is showcased.
Near about all the plausible characteristics have been identified here except the ones
mentioned above. The number of references added is also accurate as per the requirements.
However, there is no example provided in the post. My peer could have been included two
separate images regarding the structure of western and Chinese reports instead of mentioning
the format as the examples. This would help the readers to gain a clear insight about the
differences in between the two.
