In the situation of COVID, UK and rest of the
world spent the majority of this year by isolating
and stuck at home. Thus, in this situation, many of
us turned the internet and online shopping as an
effective way that may help in meeting needs and
requirements of customers. In this context, this
poster is going to determine the rise of online
As when lock-down induced at March 23 in UK,
this caused a great effect on E- Commerce
business. This has increased customer’s willingness
to purchase a new item such as grocery shopping.
Sales has increased up to 50% higher than in
February and helps the retailers to overcome from
this pandemic. The value of sales was increased by
4.4% as compared to June month. Household goods
and non-food stores experienced increase in sales
by 6% and 2.2% respectively. In august 2020,
online grocery sales rose by 117% and achieving
14% of market share. Also it is seen that due to
impact of this pandemic, people doing work from
home and favours online delivers.
From the above graphical representation, it has been
analysed that there is huge boom in the sales growth
of online shopping. These kind of approaches will
assist in managing profitability of firm as well as
overall economy.
On the basis of above graph it has been identified that
there is a huge change in the e-commerce activity.
Grocery ecommerce climbed in the second week of
march while shoppers turned online in order to find
the goods they needed at their local grocery shops.
