INTRODUCTION
■ Information technology is the business sector which mainly deals with the computing
infrastructure such as software, hardware and telecommunications.
■ It has revolutionized the world by bringing radical changes in the usage of computers for
conducting various processes like networking, storing etc.
■ Onset of internet has given platform to use of social media platforms in various sectors like
medicine, banking, education and more

TASK 1- CLASSIFICATION OF COMPUTERS
■ Computers are the devices that transforms and manipulates that data and information into digital
mode.
■ Their application has entered into all the sectors and differ on the basis of data processing
abilities.

CLASSIFICATION OF COMPUTERS
Basis on functionality
■ Analogue Computer- This employs analogue data and simplifies the storage of data in a
continuum order, i.e. it uses measurable quantity like voltage or mechanical quantity. For e.g.
Torpedo data computer etc.
■ Digital Computer- This type performs the operations with logic and computations. For e.g.
MacBook etc.
■ Hybrid Computer- It is formed by the combination of both analogue and digital computers. For
e.g. ASUS Transformer pad is formed by combining the portability feature of tablet with using the
notebook's productivity.

■ Microcomputer- It is the smallest type mainly used for general purpose. E.g. IBM PC's etc.
■ Minicomputer- It is a medium sized type. E.g. IBM midrange
■ Mainframe computer- These are large storage computers as compared to micro and mini
computers. E.g. Hitachi's Z800 etc.
■ Supercomputer- These are advanced computers which are used for complex numeracy and
solving critical problems. E.g. Fujitsu's K Computer, IBM'S SuperMUC etc.

point presentations etc.

TASK 2- IMPORTANCE OF INTERNET
■ Internet is the system of global networks that brought modifications in the communications and
other methods in terms of commerce, trading etc.
■ There is no centralized governance while accessing and utilizing the policies and networks when
using internet.
■ It is called as Net; here, world wide web (www) and internet terms are interchangeably used and
help when viewing the web pages.

IMPORTANCE AT AN INDIVIDUAL LEVEL
■ It helps to learn and explore new things and concepts in relation to enhance knowledge and gain
understanding.
■ It aids in research and development of various terminologies in context to job or study.
■ It is useful in mapping of person's whereabouts by location sharing through GPS and also help in
providing assistance when travelling.
■ It supports in connecting with people one has lost and also make new connections from different
geographical locations

IMPORTANCE AT AN ORGANISATIONAL LEVEL
■ It makes the relationships stronger between the employer and employees by being transparent

cloud

■ Social media has been useful in recent times due to cost effectiveness with consumption of less
time.
■ It helps in reaching the target customers' or people in faster and quicker modes.
■ This has played a major role in improving the ICT (informations and communications technology)
while doing business or any deals.
■ For e.g. Facebook is the most popular platform that is used to promote about any product or
service.
