INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan refers to an action plan that is based on awareness, reflection,
values, Goals-setting and planning for personal development of individual. Personal
development plan consist of educational and employment context in which one wants to develop
themselves. Personal development plan has several benefits for individuals as they become
aware of what they want to achieve in their career and what profession they want to join. This
help them in taking necessary actions to achieve their goals and their actions become productive.
This is a personal development plan that involves different elements of creating a personal
development plan. This will be based on SWOT analysis and Smart Goals and later on the basis
of these continuous personal professional development plan will be developed. This plan will
also involve identification and analysis of certain issues and problems and what impact they will
have on continuous professional and personal development and will also incorporate reflection
linked with planned personal and professional development.
Task 1
SWOT Analysis
Strength
Determination- This is one of the best behavioural strength on the basis of which individuals
remains determined for their objectives.
Hardworking- This is ability and strength to work hard on the determined and decided objectives
and going extra miles to achieve objectives.
Communication skills- Effective communication skills which is one of the very important skill
in every kind of profession and specially in marketing (Pandya, 2017)
Networking skills- This is the ability to identify and connect with people who can support in
achieving professional and personal objectives
Tech-savvy- This is ability and strength that individual has strong command over technology and
have effective knowledge regarding technology and its appropriate use in the field of marketing

Leadership- This is quality and ability to influence others and lead their way on how common
objectives can be effectively fulfilled
Quick-learning- This is ability and strength on the basis of which individual can learn quickly
and understand fast
Weaknesses
Time management- This is one of the weakness that I possess because I feel difficulty in
completing task on time and also in achieving goals in fixed time often because I could not
understand how much time will particular goals achievement will require
Problem solving- This is also one of weakness as I find it difficult to solve problem and
problems lead me to stressful situation (Madsen, 2016)
Data analysis- Marketing is one of the field that currently is based on analysis of data and I do
not possess this skill and this is why it becomes a weaknesses
Team working abilities- Inability in working within teams and perform as per standards of work
Opportunities
Networking- In current environment of business and employment networking has become very
important and can allow several benefits to individual and contact with right people can help in
realising goals, hence for an individual having strength of networking, it is also an opportunity
Career fairs and different channels for finding job opportunities- There are several career fairs
that organises and channels to contact with prospective employer and organisation has also
increased and this is an opportunity for finding best employer and organisation
Professional Degree- Along with right knowledge degrees can enhance ones as an employee and
candidate and this is why professional degree is an opportunity to achieving right objectives
(Maguire and Blaylock, 2017).
Marketing management- Skills and knowledge are very suitable for marketing profession and
this is why marketing is an opportunity

Description
As discussed above about these are certain objectives that I have and these are based on
experience and long term goals that are involved in continuous professional personal
development. Long term and career goal that I have is to be in profession of marketing and on
the basis of this objective I identified certain skills that I need to possess (Markkanen and et.al
2020). On the basis of feedback given by peers and during previous employment I realised that I
do have some weaknesses that can affect my capability in marketing. These objectives and PDP
is based on those weaknesses and their improvement.
Feelings
I felt strong requirement to work on these skills so that I can be employable as well as achieve
success in desired career. It is important to possess all the skills because lacking anyone skill can

also reduce value as an employable candidate. I realised that skills that I lack can also affect my
and impact my CPPD activities.
Evaluation
As per given feedback and experiences that I have has I realised that in order be highly
employable in marketing profession and become successful in marketing career it is important
that I have these skills. I realised that if I do not have these skills I can face failures and these can
also affect my effectiveness in selected and desired career.
Analysis
On the basis of certain bad and negative experiences that I have had during my previous
employment I realised that having these skills could have helped me in avoiding these. For
instance some of the times I could not complete given tasks within deadline (E-portfolio, 2019). I
realised that having effective skill for time management I could have avoided this situation.
Furthermore I also felt difficulty in working within teams, I realised that in order to deal with
these issues I also need to have effective team working skills.
Conclusion
In order to avoid bad and negative experience and ensure success in desired profession, I
decided to work on my skills and develop them and also work on advanced plans that are
included in my CPPD like getting degree and internship. Because when I start working on them
in advance I can get timely success.

On the basis of conclusion that states working on development of certain skills (Lejeune,
Beausaert and Raemdonck, 2018), and considering changes after evaluation and changes made a

Issues and problems explored and their impact on planned CPPD activities
Planned CPPD involves objectives that are involved in it for achieving in long term and
on the basis of CPPD a personal development plan have been developed through which I can
improve my skills to contribute in achievement of long term goals, academic and career based
goals. Certain issues that I explored are as follows-
Procrastination
This is one of the biggest issue that I explored during evaluation and that can affect my
CPPD activities. Procrastination is a behavioural weakness in which individual keep delaying
work considering that they will do it before or on time (Curșeu and Schruijer, 2020). However,
delaying work results in crossing deadline and individual cannot work before the timeline. This
required me to focus on time management and I decided to work on time management skill, but
because this is behavioural weakness it is hard to solve and deal with.
Problem-solving
This is another issue that has been explored during analysis that I likely to affect CPPD
activities. This is a issue because lacking skills for problem solving cause stress when individual
is encountered with even small problems. I realised that in academic and professional life

individuals encounter several problems on daily basis and can affect achievement of goals that
are involved in CPPD. Hence it is important to possess this skill in order to ensure that small and
even big problems can be solved effectively (Antonaci and et.al., 2017). During undertaking and
performing planed CPPD activities I encountered certain problems and I worked on solving these
problems by application of certain principles and practices of problem solving.
Practicing
This is another issue that I explored while carrying out and practicing activities for
CPPD. This means that activities like time management, team management skills require
practicing in order to achieve proficiency in these skills. This became a problem, as practice can
only be done when there are specific situations in which these skills can be applied. This was a
problem but I worked on different skills so that I can practice these skills. This means that I
practiced on individual level and concerned with time management I started to practice by setting
small targets and achieving them within time limit set along with the targets.
Identifying right programs for developing skills
This means that in order to develop these skills that are included that CPPD, it is
important to attend specific programs and classes for that (Cheng and Chan, 2019). There are
several types of programs and workshops available for developing one type of skill and this is
why it is very important to determine that program and workshop selected is best suited for
fulfilling individual learning requirements. This was a issue that I explored and has impact on
CPPD activities. Because if right and suitable program and workshop is not selected one may not
achieve desired and expected results in skill development.
These are certain issues that were explored during CPPD activities. These problems also
have their impact on CPPD activities and it was ensured that these problems can be effectively
removed.

Personal development plan that involved different activities and skills that I require to
develop through which I will be able to effectively achieve objectives of CPPD. Personal
development plan involved skills development that are also based on objectives that also are
based on development of different skills (Ullmann, 2017). Through this PDP I have managed to
develop skills and have made progress in my skills that I decided to develop during PDP. As goal
involves development of time management skills I have learned different strategies through
which I can manage time and achieve my objectives and fulfil required tasks within certain
times. This is initial start and there is scope that I can develop concerned with time management
skill in order to be proficient in this skill. Another skill and goal was to develop data analysis
skill and progress made in this was to identify program and course that I will utilise for the
purpose of learning and developing data analysis skills. Another skill for team development
skills, and progress in this was that I have developed basic knowledge for team management and
team working skills. This means that till now significant progress have not been met and I have
developed basic knowledge and understanding of these skills which later leads to proficiency in
these skills. These skills and goals are significantly linked with profession of marketing in which
development of these skills is likely to lead for success in marketing profession. This
development and learning became simplified by one of my strengths that is quick learning skill
(Yu and Chiu, 2019). Determination and hardworking are also two important strengths that has
contributed in successful starting for development and learning of these skills. This means that I
am working on development of these skills so that in specified time I can become proficient in
these skills.

Reflection on your personal and professional development
Based on engagement in CPPD activities and programme of learning several
employability and transferable skills that I have developed are as follows-
Written communication skills
This is one of the skills that I developed during CPPD activities and program of learning.

employability but is also important for the success of course. Written communication skill
involves skill which enables individual to effectively communicate in written manner (Valero
and et.al., 2020). This involves presenting information in clear, concise way and this is very
important in success and effectiveness of marketing professional. I believe that this skill was
earlier was also good but participation in CPPD activities and program of learning enhanced my
written communication skills. This is a highly portable skill because this skill is useful in every
type of professional area.
Time management skills
This is another skill which I have developed during activities of CPPD and program of
learning. Concerned with this skill I have developed this skill as a result of participation in
program and CPPD. Time management is a highly important skill for both educations as well as
for academic life because time management enables timely completion of tasks and objectives on
time. Concerned with portability of this skill, this skill is applicable and suitable in every type of
profession and career field (Walters, 2018). Time management skill has been developed for its
initial stage, this means that as a result of participation in CPPD activities. Time management
skill is also important in achieving goals and objectives of career and CPPD, educational and
career objectives.
Leadership skills
This is also a skill that I have developed during participation in program of learning and
CPPD activities. As I believe that I already possessed some of the skills that are part of
leadership skills but participation in program of learning helped me enhance leadership skills.
Leadership skill is very important in achieving organisational and career objectives. However, I
am willing to work in marketing career but this skill is also portable for other areas in
organisation and other career fields (Succi and Canovi, 2020). This is also an ability through
which I can take initiative and lead programs and this is why this is a skill which is also helpful
in educational success. Leadership skill is also in demand by employers and moreover,
individual with leaderships skills can also start their venture in desired fields. As I believe
determination is my strength, this also plays important role in effective leadership of individual.

Team work skill that I have also added in my personal development plan is one of the
most important skills that one requires in order to be successful in career and employment. Team
working enables individual to work alongside different people and ensure active and effective
participation in realising goals and objectives that everyone shares. I consider this as one my
weaknesses and decided to work on this skill. Through participation in this program of learning
ad CPPD activities I have developed basic understanding of the strategies and methods through
which one can develop team working skills. This skill along with success in career is also in this
course because, learning activities often involve group and team activities, effective performance
in these tasks have important role in overall success of the individual in course. Concerned with
portability of this skill, this is a skill that is important for every type of job role and every career
requires team working skills, importance of these can also be understood as many of the
employers demand team working skills in potential employees.
These are certain skills that I have developed during participating in CPPD activities and
during participating in program of learning (Johnson and Parmenter, 2017). However, I am not
proficient in every skill that has been discussed here and development took place on different
level. this means that there are certain skills that I already was having and during the program of
learning I enhanced these skills. Certain skills are there that earlier did not possessed and this is
why development of these skill is on initial level. This means that I initiated developing these
skills and have not become proficient and in order to become proficient I have to develop
detailed understanding as well as practice that enables to become master in certain skills.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above discussion it can be concluded that personal development plan is
very important in order to ensure that one can achieve their career goals and focus on long term
objectives of career. This personal development plan that I developed was based on experience
and reflection of the experience was discussed in this plan. During working on activities of the
plan I also faced some of the difficulties and explored some issues and problems and these
problems and issues have been discussed in this personal development plan. Because, weakness
of individual often cause problems in realisation and achievement of desired objectives. Later
