1. Conflict Management Strategy
1.a) Conflict Management Strategy with Partner
In the current situation there is a huge conflict with the partner regarding the design and
the layout of the home. With that there is conflict also with the home building project partner
regarding inclusions of the home. In this section the conflict is occurring between the inclusions
of standard vs luxury electrical appliances, kitchen, floorings and many more other things. Due
to the conflict issue the progress of the house is delayed significantly (Folger, Poole & Stutman,
2017). Thus, for proper execution of the projects again it is very much important to ensure that
all the current conflicts is mitigated in a proper way. To mitigate this conflict with the house
building partner conflict management strategy can be utilized. Currently, there are total five
types of conflict management strategies are available. From these five conflict management
strategy appropriate strategy for managing the conflict need to be implemented. In this aspect
among the five types of conflict management strategy collaborating strategy of the conflict
management can be used here (Prati et al., 2016). The collaboration strategy is chosen here as the
collaboration integrates several of ideas which is set out by various of peoples. The main
objective of the collaborative type of conflict management is finding a creative type of solution
which will be acceptable for all the parties involved with a specific type of project. In this aspect
proper collaboration is needed among the both of the parties related with the home building
project for successful management of the raised conflict.
The collaborating type of conflict management strategy has been chosen here as both of
their thoughts are important for completion of their dream home (Riasi & Asadzadeh, 2016). The
main conflict has occur regarding the home design and inclusions of luxury vs standard items to
the home. For the design part they need to discuss with the each other so both of their designing
idea can be included in a single piece and an appropriate type of design can be presented to the
builder of the house. Regarding the home inclusion as they are building their dream home, each
and every part of their home cannot be just standard items. Depending on the home building
budget luxury items can be included too. Also, similarly each of the items of the home
necessarily needs to be a luxury item. Thus, a proper discussion need to be made with the partner
and it need to be decided that which inclusions of the home will be luxury and which will be
standard item. Through this collaborative strategy conflict with the partner can be mitigated.

1.b) Conflict Management Strategy with Builder
Here conflicts are also raised with the builder as the discussion with the builder is
delayed. The builder is forcing to quickly take decisions regarding their dream home as their
current promotion is going on of 5kW solar energy system which will be ending very soon. Thus,
a conflict is occurring with the builder as no discussion is progressed with the builder regarding
the construction of the home. So, this conflict also need to be mitigated in a proper way for
success execution of the project. In this scenario discussion with the builder cannot be done
regarding final cost estimation as the design of the building is not ready yet. Thus, first of all, the
design of the dream home need to be decided so that a discussion can be made with the builder
regarding cost estimation of the project. Though there is a promotion is going still execution of
the building the dream home cannot be started. As the design of the home is not finalized yet the
project cannot be executed. Till then, the conflict with the builder need to be minimized properly.
In this case for management of the conflict management strategy can be utilized again.
Specifically, the avoiding strategy will be used here for elimination of the conflict with the
builder (Johansen & Cadmus, 2016). In this strategy the conflict will be avoided. In this way the
avoider hopes that problem will be resolved by itself without having any type of confrontation.
2. Leadership Style for Management of the Project
For performing execution of this type of projects it is very much important to select a
proper type of leadership style through which the project can be managed in an efficient way. In
this aspect there are several of leadership styles that can be employed for a successful completion
of the project (Yahaya & Ebrahim, 2016). All of this leadership styles are very much important
for successful completion of the project. These types of leadership styles are applicable for
different types of projects executing in different types of situation. In this aspect, the project is
the building of the dream home which is actually a construction related project. Thus it is
important to choose a leadership style that will be able to properly execute this type of
construction related project very effectively.
The specific leadership style that has to be followed by the project associates while
building the dream home in Australia suburb is transformational leadership. This leadership style
helps to encourage, inspire and motivate working employees in such a way so that they can bring
respective changes in company’s structural growth. It gives opportunities to the associates to

become much creative. The style of managing associates becomes easier and organized. The
style gives authority to make effective decisions for commercial and competitive growth of an
organization. Mentorship and training are the best suited processes that help to keep the project
or business on the preliminarily planned track. For positive development of followers and team
associates this leadership style is beneficial (Berg & Karlsen, 2016). It represents moral standard
of business organization and encourages the similar for the others. The internal culture of
organizations gets improved based on values, standards and priorities. Using this leadership style
perfect collaboration can be created among the individuals. Thus, it will help to complete the
dream home building project in an appropriate way. This style improves the process of
communication and gives a better understanding capability among the project associates. Leaders
who follow this style can effectively maintain a balance between the long term goal and short
term project and business vision. These leaders have better integrity managing capability by
establishing mutual trust. Thus, while developing the dream home project leaders must use
transformational leadership style instead of others.
3. Seven Quality Control Tool
For successful completion of the projects it is very much important to ensure the overall
quality of the projects. In this aspect the quality control tools can be utilized so that quality of a
project can be ensured. In this aspect it has been identified that there are total seven types of
quality control tools that can be used for this dream home building project. These seven quality
control tools are the data tables, cause and effect analysis, pareto analysis, histogram, control
chart, check sheet and scatter diagram (Cano, Moguerza & Corcoba, 2015). Each of the quality
control tools are having various of advantages of them due to which they are used in for
successful completion of the projects. In the following section all of these seven quality control
tools are described.
3.1 Data Tables
The data table is actually collection of various of data which are presented in a tabular
format. In this type of cases the data is being collected regarding various of aspects of the
program. Collection of data is very much important for the determination of current processes
performance. While the data is being collected from the project it is important to ensure that the
data which is collected must be meaningful and the collected data must be valid. For perfect

function of the data table it is important that the data which is collected must be presented
through an effective way so that it can help the process of decision making (Neyestani, 2017).
For this project of dream home building the data tables can be used for collecting all the
important data from the project. In this way important data can be presented in an appropriate
way so that current performance of the project can be measured properly for successful
completion of the project.
3.2 Cause and Effect Analysis
The cause and effect analysis are important in the aspects that helps the project to identify
the root cause of the problems. The main advantage of this type of problem identification is that
it provides possible cause of a problems through a graphical way. In this way understanding the
main cause of a problem is achieved in a proper way. Through the implementation of the cause
and effect analysis main content of a particular program can be focused. The cause and effect
analysis are also very much important for this project of dream home building project (Cateni et
al., 2018). It is quite natural that some problem can occur in this type of project. Here, the cause
and effect analysis can be done for the problems of the project which has been undertaken for the
solving purposes. Root cause of the problems can be also discovered using the cost and the effect
analysis. In this way any type of issues related with the project can be identified in a proper way
and it can be mitigated effectively. Thus, it will be helping in successful outcome of the project.
3.3 Pareto Analysis
The pareto analysis is very much useful for focusing on the efforts on the problems which
are having a great potential for improvements. To successfully focus on this effort in the pareto
analysis a descending bar graph is utilized. Through this bar graph relative frequency of those
efforts are presented. The pareto analysis can be also utilized for the home building project and it
will be effectively leading the project towards success. Here the pareto analysis can help the
home building project by focusing on the causes which will be having greatest of impact if
solved successfully. In this way this project can successfully identify the most prioritized area of
problem solving which will be helping in effective completion of the project (Ab Talib, Abdul
Hamid & Thoo, 2015). This will also measure the progress through a highly visible format so
that more improvements can be initiated properly.

3.4 Histogram
Like the pareto analysis histogram also uses the graphical representation for providing
description of data distribution. It presents the data distribution in a proper way but for that large
sample is required so that it can be shown in a proper way. Within this histogram all the data are
divided into some groups which is known as classes. In this aspect the histogram charts can play
some of the crucial role in this dream home building project. From the data of this home building
project histogram chart can be formed and by the analysis of this histogram chart central
tendency can be measured easily. With that variation of the data can be measured effectively.
Both of them are very much important for successful completion of the current project. The
central tendency is quite useful for consideration of large data within a single type of value
which is capable of representing the whole set of data. In this way complexity of the project can
be reduced which is a positive sign for this home building project and in this way histogram can
be utilized for this project.
3.5 Control Chart
For various type of projects control chart also plays a crucial role. The control chart is
used for the projects as it is capable of monitoring, controlling and improving performance of the
processes over a certain period of time. The control chart improves the performance of the
processes by the study of variations and the source of it. The control is capable of benefitting the
project in various of ways. In the aspect of project management, the control chart can be used as
a tool for ongoing control of a process (Saleh et al., 2015). The control chart also assists to
improve the processes so that consistent performance can be achieved for the lower costs, higher
quality and higher effective capacity. Also, through the control chart a common language can be
established for the discussion of process performance. In this way control chart can positively
affect the current executing projects.
3.6 Check Sheet
For the projects the check sheet also plays some vital roles in the project. The check sheet
is also known as the tally sheet. The check sheets are mainly used for organizing the facts in a
proper manner. By this type of proper organization, it can successfully facilitate proper type of
useful data collection regarding a quality related issue which can potentially occur in the project.
There are various of advantages of using the check sheet for this home building project. While

the check sheet is used for this home building project it can effectively gather the attribute data
while defect inspection test is performed by this this. It also capable of real time data regarding
the project which are very much useful in different kind of situations. In this way the check sheet
can help this home building project.
3.7 Scatter Diagram
Scatter diagrams are quite important for the determination of qualitative type of
relationship. For this type of diagrams linear or the curvilinear is consisting among two discrete
or continuous type of variables. Scatter diagram is useful in the sense that it helps to verify the
cause effect diagram in the cases when there is more than just consensus type of connection
among the effects and the cause. In this project the scatter diagram is useful as in often cases it
can help to verify the cause effect diagram that has been prepared for this project (Videiro et al.,
2019). The scatter diagram can successfully measure effectiveness of the cause effect diagram by
showing relationship strength between two variables.
