PROJECT OVERVIEW
Project is termed as set of interrelated tasks which has to be attained in effective manner.
This is required to be attained so that project can be delivered to client in stipulated time frame.
It means that every project has definite period of start and end. This implies that project must be
delivered within stipulated time and no lag may be present. Hence, firm is required to manage
the project and deliverable to the customer. There are various specification, expenses and
estimates of project which are used to accomplish project. Present project deals with the client
who has set up new office at suburb area and runs public internet centre in the city. Project
covers to connect main branch office with newly opened through wirelessly enabled network. In
simple words, telecommunication link between these two branches is to be established.
For connecting both of them, NGN (Next Generation Network) will be used as it has
immense benefits. NGN networking means that it is packet-based network providing
telecommunication link and services to customers. The users are able to get multiple broadband
services and QoS-enabled functionalities. It imparts competing services and effectively supports
mobility allowing uninterrupted services to users. There are various layers which are used to
form an NGN model. These are services and applications layer, control, transport and access
network layers. The first layer includes NGN application, feature and media server. Control layer
has MGC, Softswitch and Gatekeeper (Anbari, 2018). On the other hand, transport layer includes
transmission, packet network, media gateways, core packet network etc. While, access network
layer has fixed, data, cable, satellite and wireless fixed etc.
Convergence of network is required as there are three types of networks currently being
used such as PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), Packet Switched Networks and
cellular networks. Convergence is nothing but interconnecting traditional networks and packet-
based network using IP (Internet Protocol). In simple words, it is referred to as all IP network.
The project team will cover entire project within the time frame so that it may be handed to the
client. Telecommunication link between two branches will be established with NGN network so
as to improve upon services and provide faster services to the customers. Furthermore, hardware
and software requirements will be met in relation to the project. The protocols such as C bus and
Profi bus would also be used for linking networking in offices and form main server.
Furthermore, WI-Max facility is required for proper mobility and interlinking networks and

initiating internet services quite effectually. Efficient team of workers, costs and budget
constraints would be needed in order to establish telecommunication link through NGN network.
Hence, overall project will get completed in timely manner and will be handed to client.
CLIENT OVERVIEW
Client operates public access internet cafe centre which has 3 rooms and accommodates
to servers and equipments of telecommunication. In all, 15 computers, 3 servers are located in
the office. Customer has launched new branch which is situated far distant from main office at
suburb area. Now, project is to get secure wireless connection between offices for better
connectivity and telecommunication link for providing better internet services to the customers
who visits internet cafe centre. Furthermore, NGN networking will be utilised for streamlining
connection as it includes all functionalities for strengthening overall network to main server.
Moreover, WI-Max facility would be provided so that internet connectivity can be maintained in
a better way. Technical functionalities and specifications are essentially required for completing
project within stipulated time and constraint (Daniel and Daniel, 2018).
The youngsters will be benefited as services will be imparted to them mainly. The
services are sold on per hour and charges will be obtained accordingly. Youngsters of suburb
area will be imparted with high speed internet facility as they are underprivileged of basic
internet functionalities. Underlying values and motivation to provide services to enhance their
information with regards to various elements, eventually society can be benefited and profits
may be attained.
SCOPE OF PROJECT
Project scope statement outlines activities and tasks to be done in step-by-step manner in
order to accomplish project in time frame. It is essentially required as it involves activities in
streamlined manner which has to be accomplish by firm to deliver project to client by connecting
telecommunication link between two offices. Software and hardware system requirements are to
be fulfilled in accordance to project for interlinking servers to main branch of office. NGN
protocols, Modbus will be used to get over shortcomings and establish networks in effective
manner (Mok, Shen and Yang, 2015).
Project Problem statement

This type of statement gives description of problem if any in concise manner which need
to be resolved by team allocated in the project. It is the responsibility of problem-solving team to
take into account issues at the beginning, focus on track and further, to validate statement so as
to deliver desired outcome and solving problem quite nicely. In relation to this, more effective
protocols such as NGN has to be used which is risky affair as costs will be increased. Hence, it is
required that project could be resolved by initiating control upon expenses so as to implement
NGN network and issues will also be aroused because of location of new branch with that of
main office.

The design principle in the project will be balanced as cost estimates of equipments and
materials are in accordance to requirement of project. Expenditures need to be controlled in

PROJECT ASSESSMENT REPORT
Introduction
Key issues in relation to the project is that NGN networking and telecommunication link.
Furthermore, WI-Max is also required to be enabled for the client. In addressing this, networking
implies to have pure interconnection of devices to one of the main system which is located in the
main branch of customer (Network equipment and cables. 2018). Telecommunication signifies
transferring of data with the help of electromagnetic signals from one end to situated at distant
place. Key issue is that network has to be integrated with main branch and new office. However,
office located in suburb area has poor connectivity and it has to make connecting to main office.
It is required by implementing hardware and software for better connection. The components
will be needed to effectively attain project within stipulated time.

Project Findings
There are certain requirements need to be implemented so that connectivity may be made
in the best possible manner. It is required that firm may be able to complete project on time. It
can be said that resources such as funds, hardware and software requirements are needed. In
relation to this, NGN components are required such as Flat IP, VoIP and SIP (Session Initiation
Protocol) etc. Furthermore, signalling gateways and media gateways are needed and Softswitch
is an important function in this aspect. IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) is standard architecture
of NGN networking. On the other hand, basic server of x86 bit, along with 10 Gigabit Ethernet
interface, CPU, hard disk space are needed to form network. Moreover, security is a crucial
element so that unauthorised access can be restricted with entirety. Processors of 2.5 GHz which
will provide high performance. Memory of 2 GB will be enough for adequate storage. Disk
space of NTFS with nearly 3 GB will be needed for website surfing. Software requirement will
be Hyper-visor VM version ESXI 5.5.0. Thus, faster connectivity may be achieved.
Project Recommendations
Telecommunication link through NGN networking is required to be made in accordance
to the project requirement (Harrison and Lock, 2017). Hereby it can be recommended that
telecommunication is to be streamlined through better flow of electromagnetic signals. The
protocols of NGN will be used for effective mobility of signals and thus, perfect connectivity can
be accomplished. IP protocols means that various set of protocols which includes TCP and
HTTP having integration with IP. It helps to effectively impart interact with web browsers. In
relation to this, NGN networking which includes interrelated IP protocols will be needed for
connectivity of telecommunication link between offices in the best possible manner. The
processors and memory as discussed in above paragraph are required for timely accomplishment
of project. Microsoft.NET framework is to be installed and nearby 56 kbps of speed is required
for better connectivity of two offices. Hence, by such specifications in relation to NGN network
and IP protocols, project could be attained with much ease (Punnett, 2014).
OHS Concerns of project
There are various hazardous risks which can be observed in a workplace and it provides
way to the risks. These are to be minimised up to a high extent so that project can be timely
achieved and handed to client. OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) is termed as foreseeable

risks that may occur any time in the firm. It is required to minimise so as to provide full safety to
employees and users of internet cafe centre of client. Computers shall be well-connected and no
electric short circuit might be done. Furthermore, customers in the internet cafe should be
provided with well-enhanced services. Hence, risk should be minimised by taking control
mechanism and thus, OHS concerns are crucial in firm.
PROJECT ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
Project Estimated Duration
The estimated project duration is required so that no delays may be there which might
affect entire project. Deliverables are affected when it is not completed within time. In relation to
this, time frame means that proper scheduling of activities from start till end so that project may
be accomplished quite effectively. The project completion is required and time taken by whole
team to finish tasks in effectual way. Whole project team would include personnels such as
software developer, Quality personnel, IT personnel, Training personnel and Finance personnel.
Hence, these professionals in their respective field will provide necessary services in order to
achieve project with much ease. All the activities are interlinked with each other and needs to be
attained in step-by-step manner for completing project on time. In additional to this, project
would get completed in days and would be handed over to client in effective way (Zou,
Kumaraswamy, Chung and Wong, 2014).
Target Audience
Target audience is required so that business may sell products and services to the target
market only. This is essentially needed so as to attain profits from the particular segment of
customers in accordance to demands and preferences. In context to this, client wants to have
telecommunication link in between offices through NGN network methodology for better
connectivity. WI-Max facility has to be enabled in relation to the internet services. Target
audience of client would be youngsters who are underprivileged of such facilities mainly in the
suburb area and thus, better services will be imparted to them. Profits will be attained by
business. IP networking and NGN would be streamlined so that firm may be able to strengthened
network in effectual manner (Riol and Thuillier, 2015). Project risk may be related to deficiency
in attaining funds, failure related to technicality and it is required that proper monitoring is

needed for reducing risks. Inclusion of project means that technological aspect will be included
along with hardware and software solutions.

It is a rough estimate which is made in order to complete project in desired way. Project
Manager assess what activities are to be accomplished in step-by-step way. This eventually

can be generated with much ease. The total expenditures incurred on equipments and materials
amounts to 17880. On the other side, initiation phase amount is 8700, research expenses are
2000. While, photo editing is 1000, development of work plan is 15500 and control plan
expenditures are 5600. Furthermore, final plan is 4000, framework formulating will amounts to
6500, build framework would be 46000. Testing of the same would be 22000. Hence, total
expenses will be 129180 to accomplish project on time scale.
Copyright and legal issues
The copyrights are crucial elements in any project so that it may not be accessible by
unauthorised personnels (Titarenko, 2017). Confidentiality of information is required to be made
so as to block access. Copyright is needed for protecting intellectual property to minimise
infringement. It provides layer to company and thus, proper protection can be made. In relation
to this, when it is broken by anybody, then Court case may be made and imprisonment is
provided for. Project Manager should be equally responsible for carrying out and protecting
images and block access from the unauthorised personnels. Project sign off can be made in

relation to the project and can be handed to over the client. Hence, connection will be established
with NGN network across offices.
PROJECT SIGN OFF
It is the concluding stage when project is entirely completed and sign off is made by the
Project Manager. Project has been completed by taking into account all constraints, risks and
costs. Official approval by stakeholders of project is needed to be obtained. When it is obtained,
it signifies that project sign off is to be made. This means that any alterations made by
stakeholders are taken into account and final delivery has to be imparted to them. Project
Manager has to assess whether all tasks have been completed or not. Hence, monitoring is made
and thus, project is delivered to the client. It implies that project has come to an end.
