Purpose and Audinace
 The key purpose of this study is to develop different
communication skills which help the nurse to
communicate in the effective way with their patient,
patient's family, friends and with co-workers, superior and
subordinate.
 Audience: Nursing students

Communication skills
 Communication skills are the skills that help individual
to have interaction with other people in the workplace.
 This the era of digital world, so the workers should
know how to receive and convey information with the
help of social media, phone, email etc.

Importance in nursing organisation
 In nursing organisation, it is very significant for both the
parties that are patient and staff of the company to
communicate in the effective manner.
 For nurses, to do their job in effective manner, they have
to communicate with the large number of people such as
patient, their family, co-workers, subordinate, superior etc.

Skills I developed in the semester
 Listening: It is the best skills for the good communication, if the person is trying to putting his own view and not listening other, then no one like to have that communication.
 Non-verbal communication: The factors involve in this type of communicate are body language, hand gestures and eye contact.

 Clear and concise: another communication skills I have
learned is to speak clear and concise message which have
direct impact.
 Confident: It is very important for the individual to be
confident with interacting with others it ensures that my co-
workers, superior, subordinate and patient believe on me.

Strategies for future to enhance communication skills
 Take proper time to listen others: In order to find the conclusion of any communication, I need to listen the person to whom I
am having conversation and this enhance my communication skills in future

 Speck clearly and properly: The message I want to convey should have some meaning to the situation and if any valid point is not being
communicated properly, then communicate will not make sense to the situation. So I need to communicate message in clear way.

 Try to understand the mood of receiver or listener: It is very important to understand the mood of second
party, if he or she is in bad mood then I have to be polite in order to make conversation good and fruitful.
