LITERATURE REVIEW To attain understanding on the merger and acquisition. Reynolds and Teerikangas, (2016) said that, merger and acquisition is referred to as the consolidation of two companies by merging all the assets and liabilities in order to operate as one single company. On the contrary when company tends to take over other company this is referred to as acquisition. Ahammad and et.al., (2017) sought to evaluate that, merger and acquisition is beneficial because ithelps in generating greater value for the business. They also get tax gain benefits which in turn leads to revenue enhancement. This is considered to be one of the cost efficient method where it is very useful in overcoming the current situation. Angwin and Meadows, (2015) argued that, the major limitation associated with the merger and acquisition is that, bigger company tends to create greater monopoly in the particular market. It also results in communicating with the employees of varied culture.

Gaining entry into the new market and increase in the market share is considered to be one of the most crucial factor which drives organization to opt for merger and acquisition. .Garnett, Mollan and Bentley, (2015) evaluated that, Reduction of degree of risk and improving competitive position stability is an influencing factor for the company to evaluate the direction value of the company. Getting access to the new prospective talented customers is considered to be one of the major factor which influences merger and acquisition. .Sarala and et.al., (2016) argued that, developing defensive position where company is considered to be in a great position which in turn largely influences the operations of the business. Increasing the capabilities of the company in order to make a good position in the market is considered to be one of the most important factor which influences company to carry out merger and acquisition.
To evaluate the challenges faced by the management of the company due to merger and acquisition. Reynolds and Teerikangas, (2016) sought to evaluate that, merging employees and culture of the two companies is considered to be one of the most crucial challenge faced by the company. Brueller, Carmeli and Markman, (2018) evaluated that, Difficulty in merging the cultural value, beliefs and attitude of the employees is the major challenge for the management of the company to carry out merger and acquisition in a systematic and efficient manner. Garnett, Mollan and Bentley, (2015) argued that, retaining and attracting prospective and talented employees in the new company is a major challenge for the management of the business. Missing and meeting financial targets associated with the revenue is a major issue for the company.

CONCLUSION From the above study it has been concluded that, merger and acquisition helps in generating greater value, tax gain benefits, reducing the risk and high cost, speedily acquiring the resources and competencies. It also helps in evaluating management issues and factors influencing merger and acquisition with the help of qualitative research methods.
