Discussion
• More than 300 colonies have been found in standard plate count for all the serial
dilutions ranging from 10-1 to 10-4.
• Higher number of colonies denotes higher chance of contamination infection
(Davis, 2014).
• Positive Indole test (presence of pinkish red layer) signifies the presence of Indole
test positive bacteria (Pant, Nirwal & Rai, 2013).
• Positive Methyl red test also signifies the presence of bacterial contamination
(Odonkor & Ampofo, 2013).
• Voges- Proskauer test and Citrate test both are negative for this investigation.
• From the above IMViC profile, it can be confirmed the presence of
E. Coli in the
abused chicken sample (Mainali et al., 2013).
